My oldest has been here almost 3 years and my 2nd almost 1 year, both African American. As a single mother dropping my children off has been one less worry. Even during interviewing for better opportunities and running late on public transportation sending messages through their app provided made me feel at ease. Always getting a response and a simple take your time or no rush. When picking up my children its always hard to get them to leave. As the school is not only a classroom setting but have individual spaces for free play, a library, room for movies and basically an indoor gym. I like their concept here because if my children need a couple minutes to calm their energy the teachers allow for them to go to a more intimate space to still learn but also gather themselves. When I arrive at the school the owner or teacher at the time is always graceful in how they communicate the day. I do appreciate this very much here at the school. My kids always want to go back. Even out of school and we are close by they mention their school. Oh! They provide detailed reports on your child's progress and future planning for continued success as well. All teachers are hands on. Even if a teacher works with their individual group he/she will step in to assist. Its good to see that because our children are not perfect everyday. I like to see how the teachers will respond if I am not around. I like their style here. If you want your kids busy, doing hands on projects then you are at the right place. Holiday season is my favorite. The hold a lot of potlucks where I have friended many other parents. A few who are my good friends now. We do play dates out of school. Another favorite is when I get to buy my kids art. Even if all i have is a quarter(you get the point) just a fun activity. Also bringing in guest speakers, local field trips. My daughter had separation anxiety from me (even before enrolling in daycare) which made the transition very difficult emotionally. The staff was beyond supportive and let me stay during drop off as long as I needed before feeling like my baby was okay enough for me to leave. Fast forward and my daughter is thriving. Loves the environment and they've helped her so much with independent sleeping and keeping a great routine. It's hard leaving your kids with strangers but this staff is so personable and caring for each child, it makes me feel so much more comfortable knowing my child is SAFE.

This Concord Plaza facility feels secure--it's tucked away in a quiet part of an office park, and adults must put a code in to enter the building. The teachers are a mix of seasoned pros and newer ones, making it feel like there is a solid pipeline to train and retain talent. There is a big green space at the front where parents and kids often hang out to play and socialize after school, giving it a community vibe. Some logistics: if you're interested in taking a tour or getting on the wait list (a few months, was not unreasonable), contact the main number for the regional office. You may also be able to get info about the Bright Horizons at Nemours (I think longer wait list if you're not staff). This location serves snacks and milk but requires you to pack lunch; honestly for the cost saving, I didn't mind packing lunch. My kids were very prepared for the next steps of their learning journeys after attending this Bright Horizons. I'm especially grateful for the care and communication from the teachers here.

The teachers alone have been employed there for for decades and every time I walk in there, they're actively engaged with the children. The parents at this school are actively involved in the running of this facility so you know they care. There is just no question in my mind whether or not I've placed my child in the best environment in the area.

However, I have nothing but great things to say about GFELA! 1. Parking - Drop-off and pick-up are usually a hassle at most daycares, but I can always find a free, legal parking spot here. This was an unexpected perk! 2. Teacher Retention - At our previous daycare, there was so much turnover that we could barely remember the teachers' names toward the end. That is NOT the case at GFELA. 3. Security - There is a security guard on the first floor of the building. On the fourth floor, the doors remain locked, and you must call the center to be buzzed in. 4. Director Involvement - Before my son started, the director, Mrs. Unis, personally called me to ensure he would be properly accommodated. She continues to keep me updated on his progress and is very involved in his development. She attends his ELWYN meetings and ensures his teachers provide input to help him get all the therapies he needs. At our previous daycare, I invited the director and teachers to video meetings, but they never attended. Because of that, I assumed directors simply didn't participate. However, when I forwarded the ELWYN meeting invite to Mrs. Unis, I was pleasantly surprised--she and the teachers made themselves available for the meeting! I'm so happy I made the switch!
