Miss Carla is my caregiver, and we just love her! Even at one of my doctors visits they were amazed at the amount of help she gave me. The nurses and my doctor all commented about how much she helped, and wanted her business cards to give to their other patients! She is well organized, utilizes time very well, and a very good cook! Through the military, we were referred here for our son's speech. It took a couple months to get a…read morecall back and we finally had our first appointment today. I'm not sure why they scheduled our appointment at a time when their small office would be full of screaming children, but I can tell you it was loud and the only quiet waiting place would have been outside. Today was our intake appointment, and the therapist was nice, my son actually liked her, and she seemed to listen to us and our concerns. Everything seemed okay, but when we tried to schedule follow up appointments, they told me that my other child would not be allowed back for the future appointments. My husband can't ask to leave early once every week to help watch my daughter, and their hours don't go very late, or if they do, all their appointments after 3 are completely full. My son is only 2, and they told me, "well he can go back with the therapist on his own". No. No he will not. He's 2, and here for speech, so obviously he can't tell me what happens during these appointments if I'm not there. I've asked around and have been given a couple options that allow siblings in the room as well.

Overall, they are adept at understanding family concerns and the difficulty of transitioning loved ones. The location is convenient and has lovely curb appeal that flows into the facility as well. There are courtyards and patios, even a screened in porch is available for residents and families. It has been refreshing to experience a facility that is attractive with attractive caregivers inside as well. I've lived in this area for decades, and this facility has always been named NHC. The fact that it has never changed hands has meant a consistently good reputation throughout the community. While no facility is perfect, they do seem to strive for perfection. Highly recommend them!

I've been to two VA hospital in other states and this Facility is by far the worst. It's so bad you can't even get in Contact with the patient advocate. You at either waiting for months for an appointment or in pain in the ER waiting for hours. There is very little compassion within this facility.

I just left a positive review on their podiatry office…read morebut I just wanted to say that I've also been to their MRI office, their pain management office and their emergency room. I was super impressed with their MRI office and their pain management office; extremely professional and quick. My experience at the ER was very good but I wasn't able to get in and out as quickly as I wanted and it was CRAZY cold in the waiting area (many of us were given blankets) and I don't normally mind the cold but this was beyond what I've experienced before. It took me 2 hours to get seen, get prescriptions and get out. That said, I was seen by Dr Mah after only 65 mins which was pretty good for an ER figuring I only had painful sinusitis so I was low in terms of priority. Dr Ma was very nice and told me to wait in the waiting area for my prescription paperwork. The thing that got me was I had to go up to the desk 40 mins after leaving Dr Ma's office to get action on my prescription paperwork. I'm not sure much longer I would've been there if I hadn't done that. Luckily I did so I was out in 2 hours. I had to go back in for a meningitis concern on a Saturday which either meant going back to the VA's ER or a MedStop and I chose the MedStop which was a good choice as I was in/out in 20 mins with prescriptions in hand. I still give the VA hospital (both downtown and uptown locations) a FIVE STAR rating b/c my overall experience has been phenomenal in the past 2.5 years.
