WAIT. Hold up. How had I NEVER reviewed this amazing place?! *headdesk* Let's back up to 2015....when I used their services for our wedding set at a barn in Poynette. I rented two windows for our buffet menu and seating chart. I could've rented more things, but I really had to do my best to hold back because they have a TON in their inventory that I could've used. Alas, the budget did not allow such a splurge. Don't get me wrong - they're not absurdly expensive. Personally, I would've spent too much because I don't know when to stop sometimes.... I opted out of the custom writing as I wanted to do it myself with my BFF/MOH as a fun project. Even though we didn't request their custom writing services, they did provide suggestions on what to use, which was super helpful! Staff was just overall very friendly and pleasant to work with. Pick up was super easy - it took maybe 5-10 minutes from driving up to getting it loaded. Drop off was even easier. I'm not sure when we'd use them again, but I do recommend them to friends who are seeking a vintage look for their special events. read more

My wife and I held our outdoor / tent reception wedding in northern Wisconsin and were having a very hard time finding a tablescape we were satisfied with. Then we found A La Crate and their amazing wood tables and everything fell into place. Tablecloth linen rentals are astronomical in price. For almost the same cost we could rent amazing wood tables from A La Crate (we took 18 of them) and didn't have to worry about packing up a bunch of tablecloths after the reception to ship back to the rental company. A La Crate made the drop-off and pick-up insanely easy. I highly recommend you visit their shop because, while their web site features useful photography, there's nothing like seeing everything with your own eyes. They have so much great stuff. We found additional things we didn't know we needed (great assortment of dessert serving trays and tiers) and fancy bride and groom chairs that set our spot out a bit from our guests. And it was all reasonably priced of course. I can't recommend them highly enough. I'm so grateful we found them, I honestly don't know what we would have done had we not. read more

From the moment I spoke with Sarah & Jeff, I knew that I was in good hands. :) We discussed via telephone what my ideas were for our upcoming wedding (in Sept 2011)- they described their inventory selection and DIY ideas they had as well and it seemed to mesh perfectly with my vision. I met Sarah at their shop and we ran around grabbing different bottles, china, driftwood, etc (along with some of the things I already had and wanted to incorporate) and we set up a few mock table options right there in the shop. It was wonderful to have that visual and I truly valued Sarah's opinions, based on her creative background. Sarah was in constant contact with me, updating me on the progress of new inventory, ideas, and what we finally settled on to rent. The day before our wedding, we stopped by the shop to pick up our TRAILER load of inventory and Sarah & Jeff had everything organized and ready to go for us. What a relief! Not only did they allow us to pick up the day before to prepare but we also enlisted their "day of" services in which Sarah & Jeff came out to the venue and made sure the vision I discussed with them from the beginning came to fruition, as not many of my "family helpers" really understood what I was looking for. When I arrived at the venue just moments before our ceremony, I was in complete shock.....it was BETTER than I could have ever imagined! The creativity, hard work, and sweat that went into the setup of our decor was amazing. It reduced my stress levels tremendously (as I was not able to be there for setup), to know that Sarah/Jeff were there to supervise and execute. When you dream of a wedding that directly reflects you and your future husband's character & personality; one that you want to be unique and special, it is beyond worth it to "think outside the box" and work with some amazingly creative individuals, like Sarah & Jeff. Without them and their inventory, we would have never been able to achieve our "dream wedding" vision. Although I ended up not using A la Crate for my wedding reception due to some venue restrictions (we had to change our reception venue from our original plan and it through some things off), I had a great experience working with Sarah. The day I visited the shop she was incredibly helpful and skillfully worked with myself and another customer at the same time without making either of us feel ignored. She gave me a great no-pressure quote and when I touched base with her she was so kind and helpful again. I *wish* I could've gotten the rentals I had drooled over from A la Crate, but I'm sure that other brides and party planners will be enjoying their wares for a long time. Having dealt with a number of other "traditional" rental companies in the meantime, A la Crate is top notch! (4 stars and not 5 just as I can't evaluate the whole rental experience). read more

Sarah and Jeff are fantastic to work with. They are incredibly creative; if you have even the faintest idea of something you'd like or what you might need to make your event work well, they manage to create a solution that will be better than you even thought was possible. They are always honest and Sarah has a keen way of knowing when you don't love an idea...I never felt any pressure to rent anything from them. On top of all of this, Sarah and Jeff are really easy to work with, they are kind, caring, and flexible. They recently added a wonderful gallery to their website which is really handy. To get the true scope of what they are able to offer, though, you need to tour their shop - it's incredible! Also, their prices are really priced reasonably. For example, I had wanted to place bud vases on tables at my reception and planned to buy them from Goodwill or garage sales to save money. But it turns out I was able to rent them from A La Crate for 50 cents a piece...and then to not have 40 bud vases in my basement afterwards? It's a win-win. I can't say enough good things about working with A La Crate. I'll continue to recommend them to others and find ways to use them throughout future life events. read more

Their warehouse will blow you away, but what's more, their kindness and expertise will help you feel valued, and like your event is a priority to them. Sarah is fabulous at styling, and will help you with ideas as you look through their inventory. You can also hire her to do day-of styling, which is SO worth it! Their prices are totally reasonable, and their pick up/drop off services are outstanding. I really can't say enough good things about these guys. A La Crate was So very helpful in bringing our wedding reception decor all together! I was impressed by how much we were able to rent for the price too. We used the sewing boxes and eclectic vases on our tables filled with beautiful flowers from HyVee. The staff also helped me create a backdrop for our head table using antique poles that I used to hang lace curtains. With some lights and flower bouquets on the ends, iIt turned out great and was pretty inexpensive. I also recommend the wood rounds for cake stands, and chalkboard signage. This place is AMAZING!!! We had our wedding at the Monona Terrace (ceremony) and the University Club (reception) on Sept 17, 2016. We rented a lot of amazing things to help decorate our two venues (not that they needed that much- more just items to personalize our event). We ordered 3 different display boards to have writing on them- Katie did such a BEAUTIFUL job on making them exactly how we wanted. Courtney helped us put it all together, and was so great/easy to work with! The entire team there is awesome, and they have some really neat pieces. If you have a vintage themed wedding or event, I cannot recommend a la crate enough! read more

We had emailed back and forth a bit before I actually went into the shop, and she was more than accomodating with my order changes. Once I stepped in the warehouse, I felt so warm and at home. What an adorable collection of vintage goodies! I wish I had a bigger budget for the event I was throwing, but the things I did rent worked out perfectly for my sisters bridal shower. Two months later and I still can't believe how beautiful our wedding turned out. Sarah and Jeff are absolutely amazing, generous, and flexible (thank goodness things weren't SO busy on the same date as our wedding!) - they made us feel at home the second we walked in the door. We pretty much had everything we wanted for our outdoor wedding within 1 hr of our visit. We used several of their items, including the large barrels, the benches, and the oversized chalkboard. Everything was in impeccable condition and the prices are so reasonable. They made themselves available in the weeks and days and hours leading up to the wedding and handled business! We weren't sure what we were walking into when we walked into A La Crate, but when we walked out we were absolutely thrilled with what we found. Working with A La Crate was a DREAM! Sarah was incredibly accommodating and helpful, and her pieces were unbelievably gorgeous. We rented a table and chairs, a large trellis, and the XXL blackboard for our June 28 wedding, and these were really the extra special pieces that pulled the whole event together.
