I interviewed with many schools all over Orange County and got a good vibe from McDowell. He started there in 2015 in 4th grade. He LOVED it and thrived there. McDowell gave him a strong foundation and he is about to be a senior at a public high school. He is a straight A student in all IB, AP and honors classes. My twins have now gone there since kindergarten and they are about to start 3rd grade. They actually look forward to school and love all their teachers and the other students! From the extracurriculars, to their main teacher for the year, to the other parents, and the Head of school, Mr. Lincoln, it has been a wonderful and nurturing environment for all my kids. Marina View Preschool has been a home away from home for our son, who was there for 2.5 years. In his time there, he flourished not only academically but also in his social-emotional skills. Our son made deep connections with his teachers and classmates. The school runs a tight ship in their policies and practices which ensures the school is properly staffed and the children are safe and properly attended to. We toured many different schools in the area and Marina View stood out for the location/safety of the campus, their open door policy and how happy the children looked when we visited! Our son loved his experience there and misses it so much! It was a school where he felt accepted and safe to be himself. The school has cool events and activities throughout the year. Other daycares have rainy days and keep the kids inside, but Sepi bundles the kids up and gets them outside to interact with their environment and be kids- and then washes their clothes and sends them home dry. They truly go above and beyond to make sure the kids are learning while staying happy and safe. My daughter wakes up asking to go see Sepi, Vanessa, Dany and all her friends and gets giddy on the way there. She really has a whole second family there. I work a lot and love knowing that she is still being mothered 8-5. The teachers do a great job of sending photo updates everyday, and host special events like an annual Christmas show and Mother's / Father's Day celebrations. The summer program is so fun for the kids, they bring in awesome activities like petting zoos, reptile shows, hula dancing and water slides.
