We've been part of Rancho Santa Margarita KinderCare for about 3.5 years now, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! We actually moved to Irvine, but we simply couldn't bring ourselves to change daycare because of how much we love this place. The teachers are truly wonderful -- they show so much love, care, and attention to each child and are always responsive to their individual needs. Our daughter is almost 4, and KinderCare has been such a big part of her life and development. The level of learning and daily activities is amazing, and the Summer Camp program especially impresses us every year. They put so much effort into making it exciting for the kids -- horseback riding, train rides, petting zoos, bounce houses, and so many other special activities. Our daughter always has something new to tell us about! The facilities are great, the environment feels warm and welcoming, and most importantly, we feel confident that our daughter is genuinely cared for, loved, and happy here. We're incredibly grateful that we found Rancho Santa Margarita KinderCare and have been able to watch our daughter grow here over the years. My child was in the four-year-old class, and the teacher's behavior was so bad and rude, and they yelled at the children so much that even though I took my child out of there, the effects are still present, and my child has an unusual fear of going back to this center. I can't say enough good things about KindercareRSM, the kids' second home for almost 8 years. The staff is amazing here, Ms Mojgan runs a tight ship in the best way possible! We always knew our kids are cared for and loved when we dropped them off and I know my kids feel the same because they still ask to visit daily! They grew so much academically and socially at their time at the school through the teachings and various programs like phonics. Both have transitioned well to their elementary school thanks to the prep they received from Kindercare. My baby started in the infant classroom at 5 months old. We've been very impressed with the quality of care that she has received. She is not the best at napping so we were really worried but she is able to sleep throughout the day. She also has bottles very frequently and drinks very slowly but they always give her all of her bottles. They're very communicative through the app. It makes me day getting pictures of her and updates about her diapers, naps, and bottles! Her teachers, Ms Jacki and Ms Nina, are very kind and loving. I was hesitant about putting my little guy in daycare. He is 16 months old. I decided to give it a try here because the staff is very warm and welcoming. The first few weeks were decent. He didn't cry when I dropped him off. The last week we attended, he was pretty upset to be dropped off. I was on the fence about if I was doing the right thing to keep him here, then I showed up to pick him up one day and his finger nail was BLACK. The teacher said "i don't know what happened I heard him crying I went outside I think his finger got stuck in a toy". No one even called me to inform me of any incident. And why was he outside if the teacher was inside? Here I am nearly two months later and his finger nail is STILL black. I believe his finger must have been stepped on or slammed in a door because he has gotten his finger stuck in our drawers and it never even bruised. This is a full on deep bleed the doctor said, and the worst part is there is nothing they can do about it besides either drain it or let it grow out with the nail. I understand accidents happen, but the fact that no one even informed me, and that no one knows what actually happened to his finger, AND that it's so bad that it can't even heal on it's own... read more

I am so happy with KinderCare, they treat my two girls like family. With my 8 month old, other than obviously diapers wipes and milk, they provide everything else and make their own baby food on site. Their rooms are kept very clean with plenty of toys and space to move. My 4 year old has mild ASD and they are very accommodating and inclusive to her ABA therapy. She has been able to make great progress, socializes very well, and most importantly she looks forward to coming to KC in the morning. They provide lunches also made on site, and offer cooking, music and STEM classes if you like. Lastly, they are able to provide shuttling to and from transitional kindergarten programs and traditional local elementary schools. People always say it takes a village to raise kids, they are definitely a part of mine. read more

It has taken me over three months to write this review. The experience was great at first. We had an amazing teacher who took care of my son, who showed love, and compassion for my son. She unfortunately moved back to her home town and after that things went down hill. I THOUGHT they cared about my son. Key word thought. They put on a great show. It was well known that my son was special needs and they said they still would love him with open arms. Unfortunately those arms would damage my son to no return. He suffers daily still with the damage this facility caused him. If he got hurt I never was let known about it. If I brought it up they would have a lame excuse and say sorry. They are the only facility with no cameras. That was learned after reporting them three times. Allowed my son to wonder into the bathroom alone and play in the toilets for however long with 0 supervision. He could have drown, got hurt, so many possibilities. The last straw was when he came home with finger bruises on his arm. He had a therapist come in everyday and she started to also notice the change in him. He would run into to school excited, one day it switched. He cried the second we got in the car, all day at school, until I picked him up. I knew in my gut something was wrong. He's non verbal. Please stay clear of this facility. They didn't take me seriously when I brought up these allegations. They said "my teachers would never do this" well I know his main teacher wouldn't but there were new teachers in and out every day. Whatever they did too him, he suffers on the daily. It took two months for him to leave our apartment without crying thinking we were taking him back. That teacher still works there so beware. They are rough to your kids! It's still difficult changing his diaper because of how they were with him. My therapist once told me they would threaten other kids during lunch saying they would not feed them if they didn't stop doing something and yes they took a kids lunch away. Brought that up to the director and she said it was a good punishment. I look back and think why did I not take him out sooner? I was in denial. Please be cautious with your kids here! The saddest thing is the main director knows how the life of having a special needs child is. There was no advocate for mine in that facility. I hope she never had to or never has to go through what we did and are still dealing with on the daily. They completely traumatized him. read more

I absolutely love all the teachers here at this school. Ms.Mojgan and Ms.Amy are always so friendly and caring they always go the extra mile for both my Boys. I Put my son here when he was 5 months old and I felt so comfortable leaving my baby there with no worries he was always so happy to go with big smile on his face he is now in the toddler class and they always SO loving to him and makes me feel so good as a mom . I then Put my 4 yr in few months after pulling him out of his other school ( lakeside academy) and he started to actually learn things so quickly I could see such a big change in him just within months of being there and being such happy boy telling me all the teachers were so nice! read more

My husband and I were on the search for a well-rounded and affordable school and after several tours we decided on Santa Margarita KinderCare, the directors Ms. Amy and Ms. Mojgan made the tour and enrollment process so positive and easy for us. The facility is tucked away, in a private yet easily accessible location and convenient for pick up and drop off. Inside each classroom is clean and orderly which was mandatory for me and all the teachers are SO nice and welcoming, especially Miss. Courtney, Miss. Pooran, & Miss. Olivia. We have now been attending for 4 years and I have 3 kids enrolled here. We still love it! The teachers have become like family and I know they are looking out for my kids. I have made so many friends with the parents and my kids love coming every day. I love that they have a bus that will drop my oldest off at school and pick him back up after school. Being able to drop them all off together and then pick them back up together has been a lifesaver. The hours are very convenient as well. Besides major holidays they are only closed 2 days a year for staff training so I don't have to worry about taking extra days off work. We love Santa Margarita KinderCare! read more

Normally i would be righting a rave review but unfortunately not this time. I do love all the people that are at the RSM location and my child has gone there since she was about 2 1/2 yrs old. She just started kindergarten and we had several options to change daycares when she was going to start elementary school. One of the main reasons we stayed was because the head of the whole told us verbally back in August, gave us and other families, that they would match the lower price of the school program whixh was about $100 less a week. Now in December Kindercare comes back to these young families half way through the school year and tell us they cant match the price anymore... Telling us young families that the price would go up $400+ a month ($100/wk)! I even called corporate and spoke the regional Supervisor and she would only gave us until the end of the month to paying our originally agreed upon to give us to the end of January and then either switch our child away from her friends shes been with since she was 2 all over MONEY! I THOUGHT THE CHILD WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING? BUT NO ONCE AGAIN ALL CORPORATE COMPANIES CARE ABOUT IS MONEY! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THEM AGAIN. BREAK PROMISES AND NOW WE HAVE TO SOMWHOW FIND $400-500 A MONTH EXTRA ON TOP OF THE ORIGINAL PRICE WE WERE PAYING. Putting our precious four-year-old into a preschool was one of the hardest things we had to do as parents. We visited more than half a dozen facilities, and from the moment we walked into SM Kindercare, we knew this was the place for our daughter. Maia spent one year there before we moved to a different city, and we couldn't be happier with the care she received. Ms. Mojgan, the center director, is one of the most caring individuals I have ever met. She has devoted her life to caring for children, and it shows! She trained her long-term staff to be kind, loving, and genuinely interested in every child at the school. She knows all of the kids' names, all of their likes and dislikes, and gives them a warm embrace every time she sees them. The teachers are fantastic as well. Maia had Ms. Ellie, Ms. Hasty, Ms. Bita, Ms. Jamie, Ms. Rhonda, and Mr. Brad (just to name a few), and they all treated her like a member of their own families! The faculty truly works as a team, and each and every employee there knew and adored my daughter. I knew each and every day as I said goodbye that she would be loved and well cared for. They even made special accommodations for her food allergies and never made her feel different or isolated. I can't say enough great things about this school. Maia came home every single day happy and excited to go back the next (in fact, most days she didn't want to leave!). She can speak some Spanish, identify, sound out, and write all her letters and some words, and even counts by 10! She loved the music class and the amazing playground. She has been away from the school for over a week now, and still tells me every day how much she wants to go back. I know some others had different experiences, but Maia received the very best care we could ever imagine. I have no doubt that we made the right decision in choosing SM Kindercare. Avoid this place as when they take the kids for outing they do NOT watch at the kids or teach them anything. today they were at altisma park the the ladies watching the 10-15 kids did nothing but watch them from a park bench while the kids ran wild. the parents of other children that were not part of the group were doing their best to keep these kids in line and from tearing up the playgound. next time i'll just call the sheriff and report neglect. read more

This location is absolutely a blessing! Everyone is so welcoming and it makes you feel as if you're dropping your kids off with family. The director is AMAZING and was able to get me a spot for before and after school care when all spots were filled. I asked her if there was anything she could do, I was so desperate for help! She made it happen by speaking with all the families and discovering that one family had moved. They really do understand your childcare needs and they take care of them during their time there. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for childcare and are afraid of that bad stigma that tends to give daycare centers a bad rep. read more

Beware of this place! I paid to have my child here for two weeks over the holidays after having her on and off during the last 8 months as a back up for when the school's program was closed. I agreed upon a certain amount with the director and no issue was ever raised with me at anytime during the two weeks I came in and out everyday when my child was there. No one said anything to me, sent me any invoice or wrote me a letter regarding my payments. A few months later, I got a letter from a debt collector alleging FOR THE FIRST TIME that I paid the wrong amount for those two weeks, which is incorrect. I called the center and they refused to remedy the situation with me and said Kindercare doesn't send out any invoices, and as a regular course of business they immediately send any payment issues to that collection agency. What an ignorant and unfair way to handle business. The situation could have been remedied with a simple conversation, but they didn't let me know at all and sent it to a collection agency, potentially damaging my credit for money that I don't even owe. What they did not only lost my business, it encouraged me to let as many people as possible know what they did so others don't get ripped off like I did. read more

Kindercare has been absolutely amazing to my family. It is an amazing feeling for a parent to see that their children love a certain place so much that they don't want to leave (like Grandma's'a house). Within a few weeks of being enrolled my youngest (4 y/o) has picked up so much and my oldest has had the time of his life. I love the fact that they also have Mr. Sean there as well. He's a perfect fit because the kids look to a male figure at times to give them guidance and to be an authority figure which he fits perfectly. I've watched and listened every time I go to pick my children up or drop them off and it feels very warm and inviting here. For anyone considering kindercare in rsm, please STAY AWAY!! I pulled my son out on Friday because it was nothing but a nightmare!! This last week was the breaking point with them. My boyfriend was picking jaxon up, and they gave him the wrong child. When he told them it wasn't my son, they told him yes it was and to take him. How do you send someone home with another parents child? When I confronted the director, she told me it was a misunderstanding and they mixed jaxon (2 years old) with Jansen (3 months). Then this all came to head on Friday. His aunt went to pick him up and his diaper was on backwards and SQUEEZED tight and left him with red marks. When confronting the director again, I was told it again was a misunderstanding and not a big deal because the red marks will go away and it's no big deal. Needless to say that conversation ended very heated. For anyone considering this place, protect your child and do not go here. read more

If I could give this place a negative star, I would. This is no better than a "puppy mill," except worse because it involves human beings. Children are left alone to do what they want. Books and toys are old and not adequate for proper childhood development. "Teachers" are no more than babysitters with little or no qualifications. Our toddler-aged daughter has been attending this KinderCare for over a year after attending another day-care center that was not working out for our family. Her teachers and the Directors have given her a tremendous amount of support, care and nurturing that she needed at this stage of her development. If you have a cooperative, calm child, Santa Margarita Kindercare is a perfectly acceptable place to send your child. My neurotypical 2-year-old daughter loved it. If you have a child with special needs, however, it is hell. Before I enrolled my children, the assistant director assured me that they were very experienced in caring for autistic children, extremely active children, and children with speech delays. She told me caring for my 3 1/2 -year-old son with these issues would be no problem. She lied. They refused to individualize or modify any activities to help him participate appropriately, even refusing to use the materials that I knew worked for my son and which I tried to provide. They shamed me on a daily basis and demanded that I medicate him, despite the fact that there is no medication to treat autism and ADHD can't be diagnosed in a 3-year-olds. My son was bullied, isolated, and made to fear his teacher. When we finally withdrew our children, the staff told me and my husband that we gave our son autism by being bad parents and that if we didn't medicate him, they would call social services. The staff clearly doesn't understand child development, developmental disorders, or the law. They are not nice people. read more

I'm not one to write reviews but I feel this is necessary because it is involving children. My grandson attended KinderCare for 1 month and day one I picked him up and his eye was puffy. I asked if something happened and the director said no maybe he hit it on his bed where he takes his afternoon nap and she gave me a bag of ice. Ok another day there was a little girl with green mucous coming out of both nostrils and no one cleaned her nose. Another day my grandson was drinking water out of the water fountain with his mouth on the fountain (UNSANITARY)! On Friday when I went to pick him up the fish tank had a dead fish floating on Wednesday it was still floating. Everytime I went to pick him up usually at 4:00 the room smelled of dirty diapers and large garbage bags of diapers in the room. Another day I couldn't pick him up and another family member went to get him and they were given someone else's child saying it was My grandsonwhen they said it's not him. The director apologized and said oh this is Jansen. How can you leave your child not knowing if he or she is going to be there when you go to pick them up. On the last day my other daughter went to pick him up and when he got to my home he kept saying boo boo, boo boo. I pulled his pants down and his diaper was on backwards and we're pulled so tight that it made red rings around both legs. My daughter then went to the director after work with pictures I had taken and sent to her and the director told my daughter "it's only red marks, it was a misunderstanding honey, it will go away". Are you kidding me. My grandson is no longer attending this so called day care. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ms. Mojgan, the center director at this location, and the incredible teachers in the infant class, Ms. Nina and Ms. Mimi. There is nothing harder than leaving your little one to go to work, but these teachers and this center made it as easy as it could be. I always felt so at peace leaving my little guy in their caring and loving hands. Every time I walked through the (passcode-locked) doors, the teachers lit up with smiles and couldn't wait to hold him. They gave him kisses and hugs, documented everything throughout the day, and my son was so happy every afternoon when I picked him up. This center makes you feel like family and it's so obvious they genuinely love the babies. We are moving out of state; otherwise I would never leave KinderCare RSM.
