The spring on our garage door broke. Not knowing who to call, we called Overhead Door of Southern Montana in Billings. We were a little familiar with Overhead Door. We had used Overhead in another state many years ago. They were good enough and had no problems. We are an hour from Billings but still in the southern part of the state. Keven arrived the next afternoon and work for about two hours. When he finished, he opened the door. I noticed the door didn't open all the way. He closed the door and tucked a cable into the track. He opened the door and it seemed fine. It didn't take long until it wasn't opening all the way again but that was okay. We were still able to drive our pickup into the garage. Then we traded our "little" pickup for a "bigger" pickup and we couldn't drive it into the garage. I called Overhead Door of Southern Montana. To claim southern Montana as your service area is a really huge area with a number of small towns. They were really busy and didn't have anyone to go to the outlying areas. They would try to combine some of us so that no one was paying the full amount for mileage. I appreciated that and I expected a phone call later that week to let me know when they would be in our area. I didn't get that call so I called again. No, they didn't have anyone to come to the outlying areas. Everyone was busy with "urgent" commercial projects. I called again the next week. My husband was anxious to get our new truck into the garage. I was told the same thing as the week before. I wasn't very happy and I wasn't very nice. She said they were "family owned". I'll give them a star for that. She said she'd talk to the boss. I didn't hear anything for the rest of that week. On Tuesday of the following week (two weeks after my call that someone needed to come back), I had a voicemail that Overhead was coming to our area. I called back to tell them, "Too late. We are going to someone else." I truly appreciate family owned businesses. But if you have a big contract or multiple contracts, then hire the necessary number of employees or subcontractors to get the work done. read more

My garage door was replaced in October due to hail damage from 2016. This business was chosen by my contractor not me. The door does not fit right, there is daylight at the top of the door and between the first two panels. Also the weatherstripping was not replaced at the time of installation. The door has been adjusted one time since installation and that helped for about a week and then the daylight issue went back to the same as before the adjustment. The second attempt at an adjustment did not go well either. I have never been treated so badly by a service rep on a telephone call as I was twice during one week by Aaron. He was insulting, rude and downright verbally abusive. I am sorry that my contractor and I have to deal with this company to try to get the garage door to fit properly. I will never use this company for any type of work or service after the initial one year warranty for the door is over. read more
