As we were researching different places to rescue we came across Apath4paws. While looking at their dogs online. We actually went to check out one of their other dogs and while we were there a different little dog grabbed our attention, her name is Daisy! When we interacted with her around the store, we knew she was meant for us. She's SUCH a sweetheart! In the process of adopting her, the owner of Apath4paws really went above and beyond in making sure our family was perfect for Daisy. We actually had to bring my bfs little girl in and have her and Daisy meet before we could bring her home! They gave us so many resources, information to make sure Daisy always has proper care, needs are met. They really care about the dogs in their care and making sure every single one of them goes to safe and proper homes! They don't let these dogs just go to anyone. Adopted two pets through them. They try their best and will give you the best info they can on these animals. You never know exactly how a dogs going to be but they want you to introduce your dogs to theirs to find a good match. They try and find the best home and so they will turn away bad matches. They have lots of recomendations for pet care, and have many local partners. read more

Notice how many of the positive reviews are from people who work/volunteer there? Well, here's a review from someone who doesn't. The woman who runs this place is such a child. I had a 2 minute conversation with her and it felt like I was talking to a bitchy high schooler. Her attitude is disgusting. She kept being sarcastic with me when I just wanted to know more about a dog. Her attitude threw me off. I didn't see that you had to be 21 to adopt a dog, nowhere on the website did I see that you had to be 21. I read the requirements over and over to make sure I had everything to care for a dog. All that was stated on the website was that puppies require a new leash and collar for health reasons, which I had. And when I told her that I sent two emails to ask more about the dogs she kept saying that she specifically said you have to be 21 to adopt. She kept trying to convince me that she put that information and kept repeating "The email I SENT? I sent it so I would know if I put all the requirements". I hope someone can point out where it says that in the email attached. I sent two emails to two different dogs and the emails I got back where exactly the same. Doesn't seem like she herself sends them, obviously. I talked to 3 volunteers over the span of an hour and not one told me this. read more

We were ready to add another furbaby to the family and found a Path 4 Paws through Petfinder. I reached out and was contacted quickly and was put in touch with the foster family. The foster mom was amazing! She sent me photos and info on the pups personality. A meet and greet was arranged and the love and care the foster and associate showed for the puppy was obvious. The questionare I had to fill out also made it clear that they had the best interest of the puppy at heart. It was love at first sight and we adopted a sweet little 3 month old pittie mix. The Path 4 Paws associate gave me a folder, health records, and resources. The foster mom still checks in to see how things are going. This is a great organization and I highly recommend them! read more

Not helpful at all and if your going to make us have a meet and greet with my dog and yours try to not make it like you have no interest in us. You gave us only a couple minutes in a horrible enviroment to see if the dogs would get along. Are you so inexperienced you cant tell that our dog is having a hard time paying attention when you have people parading their dogs by during the meet and greet. Random people and their dogs so close we dont have much space already. Gave us no chance at all. The dogs here are amazing, all of them need a loving home. But the lady working with the puppies specifically did a horrible job. read more

We adopted here a week ago, and everyone was great. This is our second adoption from A Path for Paws and both times have been the best! I'm really upset with this organization. I have never adopted, saved, or bought a dog from any kind of shelter or store. I've always been lucky with getting my animals from someone I know. My family and myself went to the cal ranch store for some shopping and saw all the dogs and I was really interested in one of the heeler puppies . I was asked questions on if I own or rent my home, if I had other dogs in which I answered truthfully. The volunteers out front kept going back and forth with the lady in the back who runs it and so I eventually just went back so I could speak to her myself. She was concerned because I had an 8 year old female collie mix at home. She said they do not recommend having 2 females together because of them being territorial. She had a crap attitude as soon as she started talking to me and telling me why they would not let me adopt the puppy and she did not once even ask me about my dog and how she is with other dogs. I tried to tell her how she has always been with other female dogs her whole life, 2 being aussies and another being a heeler and she didnt care. Her response to me when I was telling her about how sweet my dog is was " well you can go on vacation with your girlfriends, but could you live with them." I stood there kind of in shock that I was being told I couldn't adopt this cute pup and how rude the women was about it. I felt like I was being judged instantly and just felt like they were putting so many rules and stipulations on trying to adopt a dog. No wonder there are so many in shelters. I was pretty upset about this the rest of the day especially because this was my first time trying to get an animal from a shelter and it was a terrible first experience. I went on there Facebook page to write a review there and it was deleted twice and then I was blocked from being able to comment on anything at all. I just found the entire place to be really disappointing. read more
