Laura is outstanding! She truly loves dogs and cares for each one as if they were her own. My Sophie adores coming here, and I always know she's safe, happy, and loved. Laura is always supportive and understanding of Sophie's need to be in daycare only during the warmer months since she has a short coat and gets too cold in the winter. This business is poorly run, with little to no customer service. I boarded my dog with them based on their website, when I came to pick up my dog, an employee tried to charge me $10 more a day than quoted on their website. Their claim was that the rate had gone up and the owner wasn't updating the website. I was told the owner was 'on vacation' and the two employees there had no authority to handle the situation - they kept saying they didn't want to call her. I insisted, and when the employee came back from calling her (a call she wouldn't make in front of me, she left the building), she relayed that the owner said, "fine, you can pay the website amount, but don't ever bring your dog back here". As if I would. It was 90° outside and my dog was in a kennel with no A/C or even misting to keep him cool. He was panting terribly. All other dogs were yelping, clearly in distress. To top it off, as I loaded my buddy into the car, guess who walked into the facility right in front of my car? The owner, very much in person, and clearly available. What a horribly unprofessional place - avoid their boarding at all costs. read more

We have been clients since 2006. Our first dog came from 4 months old until she was almost 16 (passed from kidney failure). Laura took great care of her, especially in her senior years when she needed a bit more attention. I had my dog Mickey here for boarding for 10 days. When I picked him up, he was covered in urine from head to foot! It was disgusting! When I asked the worker (Laura was elsewhere) what had happened, she didn't really know. I was in a state of shock! I didn't know what to expect, being that this was his first time boarding. gathered all of his items, paid, and left. I called Laura the next day, and asked her how Mickey got covered in urine. She said that Mickey had been peeing all over and must've rolled in it. Laura was already defensive, and rude. I said he has peed in his bed before, he has never "rolled in it"! I asked her why she didn't give him a bath, or at the very minimum, clean him up, she said that she tried, but he was resisting and trying to bite her. Now, mind you, this is a 15-year-old Chihuahua with NO TEETH! I told her that he has no teeth, and she replied that she didn't know! What?! I then found out that he was basically put in his crate day, because he was barking when put outside. Laura stated that he wasn't given the bed or blankets that I brought, since he was peeing and she didn't want to have to wash them! He was given whatever the available towel or rag that was available that day. No wonder why he was having issues and peeing! I asked Laura why didn't she call me and let me know of these issues, and she said she "didn't want to ruin my vacation". Now, mind you, I had texted her a day or two after dropping Mickey off to see how things were going. She said "He's doing fine." That's all she said. I thought, "hmm, not too much of an answer, but okay." Needless to say, I will NOT be going back here. Laura is rude, dismissive, and not forthcoming. She just doesn't give a crap about the dogs, or at least, my dog. This is just a business for her. Sad that Mickey's first time boarding was here. if i could give negative number stars, i definitely would do it for this damn place!!!!!!!! we picked up our dog, drogo, 2 weeks ago and he looked very different compared to how he normally looks when we pick him up from other dogsitters/boarders. we were worried that it could be the other dogs not playing with him or no communication with the boarder, laura! but when we took him to the pet store to have him groomed, my mom noticed another collar that was inside drogo's huge collar!! we asked one of the workers what that collar was! it was a shock collar!!!!! and that was the sole reason why drogo was different compared to the past! he could not bark because of that damn shock collar!!!!!! my mom called laura to talk to her about it and laura said that it was because drogo was barking at night but the shock collar only vibrates! oh really?!?!??!? oh really laura?!?!?!?!? if that thing only vibrates, why did it give him a wound?!?!?!?!?!!!!?? it gave him multiple wounds!!!!!!!!!!!!! surely shock collars that only vibrate won't give him a wound right?!?!?!???? right?!?!!?!? and first of all, why put a stupid shock collar on him without our consent?!?!!!?!?? o-u-r consent?!?!?!?!!!?!!? and drogo rarely barks at night!!!!!!!!! rarely!!!!!!!! laura must've done something that made him bark at night!!!!!!! also my mom was always texting her asking her how drogo is doing and her replies are always: "he's fine". like that does not convince us that he is actually doing fine!!!!!!!!! and send us pictures and videos at least for actual proof that he was doing fine!!!!!!! thanks to laura, drogo had a traumatizing experience in this damn place!!!! this was not a paradise for him, this was like hell for him!!!!!!! we will never ever bring him to this so-called "paradise"!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you care about your dogs, do not bring them to this place!!!!!!!!!!! we're now looking into suing this place for animal abuse. also... i think y'all should understand how i feel because to summarize this entire review: my! dog!! was!!! abused!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I boarded my 2 dogs for 7 days, this was their first time there. I picked them up today to discover that Laura and staff never once took their prong collars off, for 7 damn days my dogs had them on tight!!! When we first arrived the gal took my dogs right away, I didn't have a chance to take them off. I only got to say good bye to the through the gate. I informed Laura that their collars were in the bag along with all of their toys and blankets. I don't even know that my dogs slept on their beds because they were covered in dirt and cuts with blood and the blankets I brought to cover their beds were never used. I'm beyond upset for 7 days they claim they didn't notice!!!!! So traumatizing for my dogs. I will never ever ever board them again here. ***updated*** Her response still does not indicate an apology for neglecting to look at my dogs and still putting the blame on me because I brought them in with prong collars. I absolutely should have demanded to remove them myself but was rushed since they were closing when I dropped my babies off and the other girl took them outside already. I assumed she knew better than leaving them on since she is such an experienced caring animal person. That was my fault, which I will never ever let happen again. Here's additional pictures. I want to write this because I just had my two dogs there for 16 days. This was a very last minute booking as well. My normal sitter cancelled on me last minute and my flight was already booked and paid for. Laura not only responded within hours but, had no problem taking in my fur babies. I had many reservations because my dogs had never been to Pooches Paradise before however, when pulling into the fence line, I was immediately put at ease. There's an agility course out front and lots of land to go to before you get to "the office" for check in. Drop off was smooth and I felt so at ease once I finally got to the check-in. After leaving and taking my flight while on my trip Laura responded to all my texts letting me know that they we're good. Once, I picked them up, not only was it again so smooth and easy but, my dogs were happy healthy and looked like they had a fun "dog-friends only" vacation. I will now be sending them for daycare every so often and know I can trust that they will be willing /excited to go. Thank you Pooch Paradise team! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR SENIOR DOGS HERE!!!! I informed them that my dog wears diapers and they said that was okay. He is 16 years old. He wears a wrap diaper at night because he leaks urine a bit, and he wear a full diaper while inside for accidents but that when taken outside he will go to the bathroom just fine and he will notify you when he needs to go to the bathroom as well. I told them all of this information. When i picked him up after 4 days he was covered in his own urine and poop. His blanket and pillow were covered in it as well. They didn't even open the packages of diapers i provided in his bag. My 8 year old niece could take better care of my dog and has, but she was busy on the family trip with us. They shouldn't accept senior dogs if they don't know how to take care of them! Very upsetting to pick up your pet and have them covered in feces and urine. I have used Laura for a long time. I had 2 dogs and lost my handsome Sam recently. Once they knew they gave me their sympathies and talked about his attributes. He was a diabetic dog that had insulin shots twice a day. Right after his feed. They did an excellent job. And my other dog was a recent rescue dog also. I have used Laura for several years. My dogs loved to go there. They loved the attention they got there. I would not take my girl that I have now anywhere else. We have been taking our male Golden Retriever (10 months) for doggie day care for a couple months. At first he was a little reluctant when we would arrive but not anymore. As soon as I turn down the driveway he starts squealing and can barely contain himself long enough to get out of the car. He runs in and looks for his 'friends' play with. When I pick him up he is exhausted and happy! I am so happy that he is well taken care of and socializing nicely with the rest of the pack. He goes once a week and what a great decision it was! This review has been long overdue. My 2 dogs Alaskan Klee Kai's one 10 months the other going on 12 years have been coming here for boarding since mid May of this year. They have been staying about 3 nights at a time. Since COVID they have not been with other dogs. Jayde our puppy only had Akina to play with. Since coming to A Pooh's Paradise, Jayde is no longer afraid of every dog. She used to be scared whenever we would pass other dogs. We can tell they love it there. It's convenient that they offer baths upon pick up as well. Reasonable prices for bath and boarding. They offer daycare as well. Always able to get a hold of Laura via text. We have been using A Pooch's Paradise for the past 3 years. We are so thrilled to have found a safe, compassionate place for our fur babies to stay while we travel. I have two Great Danes and a lab and was surprised to see the previous review with the issue of the prong collar. We use the prong collars for our Danes as they are huge and we need them to control the dogs. When properly fitted these collars should not pose an issue. I have personally dropped mine off regularly and always pick up happy, healthy, tired dogs. I also love that for only 25 dollars they can get a bath before pick up! We highly recommend Laura and her staff, and feel so lucky to have found them! read more

I came here for a last minute/urgent doggie wash, as a first time customer. My dog rolled in something disgusting and I have a hard time bathing my 75 lb dog that gets scared of water and baths. Laura and staff (I forgot the younger gal's name), fit me in and did a great job. When I picked up my dog he was clean, calm and happy. Not at all anxious to leave. I'm guessing their set-up and way of handling the dogs may be better than when I struggle with him at home. Reasonable pricing, convenient, and happy pup = repeat customer. I have been dealing with this lady for the last 10 years since she started up her company. I have been boarding my dogs for the last 20 years and since I came upon laura I have not ever second guessed my 1 stop shop for all my boarding needs!! she is very caring for all the dogs as she spends each and every day with her being involved with each and every dog and always tending to them in her huge fenced yard with private space indoors for each and every dog. I have been to her boarding facility many times and have never once seen anything out of order nor any pee or poo on the floor anywhere. she always has water in the bowls and spends all her time with all the dogs.... I can not express how grateful I am to say that she truly cares about her dogs from her heart and not looking for anything else except good healthy, clean fun place to bring my dogs!!! We found Pooches Paradise after a traumatic experience with a precious company. We brought our very hyper boxer down to meet the owner so we could see if it was a good fit. The owner was relaxed, playful and very good at her evaluation of our fur baby. There is plenty of space for large dogs to run/exercise and sleep. The owner is super helpful and very accommodating. We've boarded our baby several times this summer and he always comes home very happy and healthy. We will be customers for life! read more

A Pooch's Paradise is absolutely the only place I would leave my dogs. The owner, Laura, is great with dogs, and my dogs love her. We usually take our dogs with us everywhere but we had a long trip overseas and it was impossible to take them with us. I looked around and visited other dog kennels/hotels and I knew I couldn't leave them where they would be locked up in a cage at night. Our neighbors suggested Pooch's Paradise and we went to check it out. First of all, there is "playground" for dogs out front. It's actually a dog training facility and there is a large obstacle course for dogs on the property. Behind is the kennel. The kennel is clean, no bad smells (which was an issue for me at some of the other places we looked at). The cages are large, clean and comfortable. All of the dogs seemed pretty relaxed and happy. Outside there are separate large dog play areas where the dogs can hang out together. Or if your dog prefers to be alone, it can play by itself in its own area. There are swimming pools if the dogs like water. Everything is super clean. I told Laura that our dogs were used to sleeping indoors with us (in our room at the foot of our bed) and she kindly let the dogs stay with her in her home (on the property) with her own little dog. I have two small dogs, and I'm not sure if this is the norm but I was so grateful that she took them in with her and treated them like her own. While we were away she texted me photos and updates. They looked like they were on a doggy vacation. When we picked them up a week later, they were happy and rambunctious. And when Laura came to say good-bye to them, their little tails were wagging so hard! They were very clearly crazy about her (I was only a teeny bit jealous!). Everyone on the staff is very sweet to the dogs and you can tell they love animals. We've left them at Pooch's Paradise a couple of times now and it's definitely the only place we can leave them. If your love your pet, this is the place for them when they can't be home with you. read more

I've been going to A Pooch's Paradise for a little over 2 months now and the staff there are amazing. I have a 10lb. Bichon Frise and my biggest concern was the bigger dogs trampling all over her. I made that clear to Laura and she assured me that my dog will be safe and will be watched at all times and I am so happy to say that my dog has never been hurt while under their supervision. I own a business and my schedule is very busy and I am very thankful that Laura is able to work with me on that and keep me dog safe when I am late for pick up. Great owner, great staff (Terra, Brooke), and great dogs there. Also! I love that the daycare is outside! My dog gets to run around all day and is always excited to go there that she doesn't even care to say bye to me when I drop her off. So in other words, your dog(s) will inevitably love the staff more than you. read more

The dogs are in cages, no grass, very little supervision, no covers over the cages or toys. We boarded our 2 dogs for a week while on vacation, left the owner with enough food for both of them, and my one dogs medication. We picked them up and she gave us almost all of our food back. So either she did not follow instructions on how much to feed the dogs and they barely ate, or she fed them whatever she wanted which is not okay for one of my dogs with stomach problems. Her medicine bottle seems full still I'm about to count the pills and see if they were even given to my dog. We asked for one of my dogs nails cut because I knew she wouldn't give them problems and they needed to be done. Whoever cut them is not a professional and shouldn't be offering this service. We tried to text the owner a couple day in to see how everything was going, she responded back to us, "fine" . Not to even mention when we brought them home, my dad tried to pet one of my dogs and she flinched away, she's NEVER done that we had her since she was a baby she knows we would never hurt her. My other dog with the stomach problems was up all night the night we brought them home throwing up. Please if you care about your dogs, DO NOT GO HERE. This is really unbelievable. read more

Warning all customers who love their dogs The owner, Laura, is a rude lady, this incident I would like to share where the cops got involved over what the owner did. If you love your dog do not go here, yes the price is cheap but this is a private business where they are not qualified and there is no one at the business to supervise the dogs. Every visit I made she was never there and all the other dogs were unattended and locked in cages. I dropped my male dog at the kennel on Sunday night because my female dog is in a heat cycle, so it is challenging to keep them separated at home. I went to go pick up my dog on Wednesday evening where she wasn't at the business and dogs were unattended and no one was there at the property. I called her so I can take my dog home and she refused to give me my dog and told me to come tomorrow but we all have work and I can't afford like the majority of people to call out of work. She came to the property and got my dog out cursed at me and kicked my dog's toys and asked for a payment where I gave her cash and she refuses to give the receipt which doesn't surprise me because they are not professionals. I asked for a receipt again and she wrote it in anger and ripped it and threw it at my face then I recorded that and asked her to write another receipt with valid information which I presented to the San Martin Police deputy. Then I asked for my dog's leash and she said, "to hell with you and your leash and your dog". That's when I called the cops and she brought her husband and gave us the leash. This was the worst experience I ever had where she stated in front of cop your dog is annoying, well then she is not a dog lover if she thinks that. I would like to warn anyone that loves their dog to not leave them in such hands and who knows she had anger problems maybe they neglect dogs too because she was yelling at my dog. This much humiliation over getting my dog? If you have a business open you should know how to treat customers and operate it. But she cursed me out, and my dog. Then she states her kids are watching over the place when clearly no one was there and even if kids were there, they are not legally old enough to work or capable of handling dogs. I love my dog way too much to leave it at such a place with these kinds of people. read more

BEST ANIMAL SERVICE AROUND! I board my dog Sadie all over San Jose due to my demanding job I'm constantly traveling. Most doggy day cares seem very blah.... almost like a hospital. But a poochs paradise is amazing!!! It's indoor and outdoor facility. The dogs are fed and have nap time. There are several dog watchers to make sure all the dogs get a long. There's so much property they're able to separate dogs that don't get along. The prices are extremely reasonable and the owner is so sweet. She's able to work with you on prices and is more than accommodating. I will not be taking Sadie anywhere else but here. Thank you Laura!!! read more
