The linoleum has screws poking up all over from the wood they put down underneath - at least 12, and it's a small bathroom. There are also cracks where they didn't butt the underlying flooring up to the next piece well enough. There is a place where they didn't measure the linoleum well and had to splice a small piece in, which looks bad, and the caulking they used the stick the molding back on the wall is very sloppy. I asked for a partial refund, to offset the cost of having someone redo it, and he refused, saying he we would redo it free of charge. I declined, not believing he was capable of a professional job. He also claimed he WOULD refund the $60 I paid him to snake our tub, since he didn't remember to do it any of the three times he came out, but three weeks later he has not refunded it. I would NOT recommend him for any remodeling work, although he claims on his website and craigslist ads that he can - that his company has MILLIONS of satisfied customers. The reasons I am giving him two stars is that he did replace the toilet and the leak is fixed.

I'm pretty incompetent when it comes to doing stuff like this. I found Hoss Plumbing on the internet and thought I'd give the small, local business guys a try instead of the big guys who hire a bunch of contractors who don't feel any personal responsibility for their work. They did a great job, quick response and professional demeanor. Their price was extremely fair. Two brothers own the business, and they serve the western TC suburbs and Minneapolis. They are licensed and insured. Most recently (June, 2018), I needed a new cartridge in my kitchen sink, some leaking taps tightened up, and I also wanted them to install a new water softener. They gave me a price for a softener, including installation, haul-away, etc. After shopping the internet, I found a shop that would install for a couple hundred dollars less. I emailed Hoss and they said they would match the price. Additionally, they installed a higher quality appliance (I researched it). While they were at it, they cleaned out the basement floor drain and several other traps in the house. No extra charge. Again, their overall prices were so very good. Both brothers were here (Hollis and Ben), and they were both so very professional in how they worked. This is the first review of their business on Yelp, and I hope other folks will talk to them when they need some plumbing work done. Business is so competitive these days, and I would like to help the really great ones do well. These guys shine!
