Worst customer service at Serena and Lily outlet in Rehoboth Beach. I went in specifically to buy a…read moreset of Queen size sheets. The sheets are in individual labeled bins. What I thought were sheets turned out to be a duvet cover. As soon as I realized the mistake I immediately went back to the store to make an exchange. I was met by the rudest sales person I have ever dealt with. I explained the situation and was told all sales are final. Lexi went on to lie and say she told me at checkout what I was purchasing stating it is their policy to do so. There were 2 of us checking out, my daughter in law and I both heard Lexi say "These are standard size pillow cases, are you aware of that?" To which we both replied yes. She never mentioned the duvet, had she done so we would have realized the error immediately. The duvet was in the bin labeled Queen size SHEETS. It was an honest mistake. I was not asking for a refund, just a simple exchange. I have been buying S&L since 2009 but am sad to say they lost a good customer. Will never shop at any Serena and Lily store/outlet/online again. I reached out to Manager and customer support with no luck. The lack of respect for loyal customers begins with their corporate team and ends with local store managers. Brian did an excellent job. Today he installed new carpeting in a bedroom and did an excellent job again. He is on time. He left the place clean after the job. We decided to purchase carpet and have Brian install the carpet. We also had carpet in bedroom doorway we wanted to fix. His estimate seemed reasonable. I read Brian's business outlooks on his website and also clients reviews. We scheduled our carpet install for February 10, 2025. We are very happy customers. Our laminated flooring was not holding old carpet in place. Wrong materials had been used. Brian adhered our carpeting properly and everything looks great. Lion, Sheba and I were in Rehobeth for the annual Polar Bear Plunge, where Lion runs headlong into…read morethe freezing water while Sheba and I stand on the beach with towels and a robe for him when he gets out. It's quite fun, and while this year it was unusually freezing (I saw frozen sea foam), it was sunny and bright. While Lion was defrosting himself we decided to check out the local thrift scene...only to discover that most of the local thrift scene is closed on Sundays. Understandably, it's a beach town in winter. Unfinished Business was open so we headed there. The store is a little obscured from DE Route 1, there's a Panera Bread in front of their building and part of the building is a self storage company so unless you turn on the side street you will be looking at the next shopping center over and not finding it. It's like a treasure hunt for treasure. It's not a large store, however it was clean and what they had was reasonably well displayed, in the style of a retail store. They had some lovely clothing and housewares, at reasonable, but not bargain, prices. I did find a fantastic oversized fisherman style wool sweater, the kind you really need to wear a long sleeve shirt under 'cause it's kinda itchy but divinely warm, and a few knick nacks. Sheba found some clothes and a cool mug. The staff were friendly, though they mostly left us to do our browsing. Parking is easy, there's a large free private lot out front. This is a nice place for someone on vacation, or maybe outfitting a beach house, to pick things up, benefits some local charities, however it's not a stop for the thrift or bargain hunter.
