I had a problem with a security door at our home. ASD Locksmith came fairly quickly, but not like "next-day" service for this work, but like a week between call and service. I thought the door was a little pricey, but it works very well. It was a difficult repair, as the frame is actually set in the concrete like a commercial install, so factor that in. The men who came to work were professional and got the job done quickly. Also, we added a new deadbolt where there had not been one previously. About a week later, the doorknob lock quit working. The initial damage to the door/frame from a car running into it had flexed the frame and the door is slightly off, so the knob lock doesn't perfectly match the new door, and it would be extremely expensive (according to ASD) to make it so. ASD came out and replaced the knob and lock, no extra charge. The knob lock is a bit less-secure one than original, but we do have a deadbolt to back it up and as that is new to this installation, it matches correctly. So, a professional outfit, a bit more expensive than I imagined, but ultimately I am satisfied. I recommend A Square Deal Locksmith. read more

Kayla and Eli were super helpful on the phone, prior to hiring them. They helped me understand and make decisions about what kind of lock changes I wanted to make, cost-options, and hardware purchases that would be appropriate for our unusual situation. Their pricing was very fair and we ended up going through them for everything. Kayla and Eli also have excellent people-skills as our situation contained a couple of interaction-challenges, (on MY end), both on the phone, in person, and in our payment setup - which they also handled, beautifully. When Eli came out to change the locks, he and George were courteous, attentive, focused and fast. They even threw in a couple of extras for me, including using Eli's excellent experience at fixing doors, to fix a stripped screw on our bathroom door. Toothpicks - who'd a thunk? I've been having starting issues with my car; so after a visit with firestone we all surmised it was finally time to get a new key. Getting it done at the dealer 30 for the key, 60 for the labor and set up - "So, 90 bucks?" "Yeah around that. Maybe more." I really didnt expect any less from the dealer honestly. I decided to yelp a locksmith and this was the first to pop up with a website, the ONLY to have any mention of making new keys for a car and SAME day. I was greeted, paid, and was out of there in less than a half hour. Even if my key was not the issue for the car starting - i have a long over due duplicate transponder key and the service with everyone I spoke with was good. I was visiting my mother in the hospital. I left the house and grabbed the wrong keys (no house keys on this ring). I didn't notice this, until after I had locked the door. So I went to the visit, came back home and called "A Square Deal". The person who answered was very polite. He said he would be there in 1/2 hour. He arrived within 1/2 hour. I went to A Square Deal Locksmith to see if they could duplicate my car fob key to a push button flip switch that I had purchased on eBay. I tried other places without success. In researching for a lock smith to change a few locks in a home I am in the process of selling, I made calls to three Lock Smiths in the area. The 1st one wanted over $300 and will not take credit card. I was lucky to find "A Square Deal Locksmith" and upon speaking with James, the owner, I felt good from the very start. My first contact with ASDL was not a good one, at their store with a rude front desk clerk blaring music and wearing a tongue bolt that affected her speech. But when Jim came onsite to review our commercial lock situation, he was skilled, knowledgeable, perceptive and ingenious to fixing our locks and rectifying situations that allowed conniving people to bypass the lock process. He listened well to our needs and was quick with a detailed invoice. He was able to look at the whole picture--not just a lock cylinder and latch but the gate, posts, latchplates, security pins upon which it was installed. He worked easily with PVC and steel fencing. He didn't come cheap but the cost was largely the hardware, not labor. As he worked through the correction he had to change course but honorably and clearly explained why. He guarantees his work and it was fixed well the first time. He's "A+" rated by the BBB though has chosen not to be accredited by them. He's licensed, bonded and insured. If Jim is your lock guy, I recommend ASDL's work highly! read more

First call got a live voice so I could ask questions and schedule a visit within 24 hours. If I get a recording I am done with a company and move on until I get a live person who is well informed. That live voice was great because I lost house keys and could not take the risk of someone having picked them up outside and pocketed them for future unsavory use. I should have asked more specific questions, however, on pricing. $10 a door really translated into $10 per cylinder, thus if you have a double-key deadbolt it's $20 per door, and another $10 if you have a knob lock to replace. I am, however, very happy with their service. Josh was highly informative, calm, and skilled, patiently answering questions and explaining procedures I wanted to understand. So I spent about $70 more than anticipated but managed to replace deadbolts on 7 doors. It was worth it and I recommend this company and will use them again. read more
