As a person of color who was new to the area, looking for a preschool is hard enough in itself. We…read moretook a tour and Miss Megan seemed amazing, and she couldn't stop singing her teachers praises! So, we were quite excited for our child to start. She did well for the first few weeks until we noticed that after about a month and a half, her confidence started to drop. She started telling us that she no longer loved her skin and hair. She told me that some of the kids in school told her that she was not pretty because she is black. I told her that she was wrong, her differences were unique and beautiful (I mean, I made her after all!) and the girls (and one boy) who were telling her that are wrong and that friends don't talk like that. I also told her that if she hears it again from her friends, she needs to tell the teacher. The school year picked up and I was no longer the person picking her up from school. Her teacher never once approached me about any racist comments, and my daughter stopped talking to me about it so I thought it was handled until my daughter came home to tell me that a teacher spit water in her face when she was coming down the slide. ‍ it took everything in me to not come up to the school and throw a huge fit after what THEY claim as a "mis-understanding". Um, no. HOW is that an accident?! Water from YOUR MOUTH should NEVER touch a child. Especially MY CHILD. That is DISGUSTING, unsanitary and just RUDE, and I'm sure they didn't think that my daughter would snitch, but she tells me EVERYTHING. Never got an apology by the way, for myself or my daughter. That was strike two. I should have pulled her out right then. Right around Christmas break, my daughter tells me that she told Ms. Michelle that the classmates were picking on her again, and Michelle told her that they wouldn't do that, basically ignoring my daughter because she didn't see these racially charged issues as important (probably because she felt or was taught the same things about people of color). This just so happened during the week of the Christmas concert. So we went to the concert so that I could observe her with her classmates, and my poor baby was NOT comfortable, she was not her normally outgoing confident self around this class of people, she wasn't happy. So I pulled her out. No need to have my child uncomfortable day after day because people don't want to take the time or have the bravery to stand up for ignorance and do away with it in the classroom. If I can't trust these people to protect my daughters feelings, self esteem and confidence as they do her white counterparts, then why am I paying them? Nahhh. Time for tots showed me that I shouldn't trust just any smiling "Christian" teacher with my child, that I need to ask these teachers beforehand how they deal with issues based in race and cultural sensitivity before enrolling my child anywhere and that most of these "Christian" daycares will still lie to you and cover their teachers butts before caring about your child who is just another number to them. Now that my eyes are open, I would NEVER refer a soul their way. Ms. Megan assured me that cultural sensitivity training was a thing that was going to happen, and I just wonder if it's been implemented as of yet. In the meantime, I'm no longer Christian and this is part of the reason why.

Miss Alecia is amazing and my daughter absolutely LOVES her! When I would drop off and if Alecia was there she would run up to her so fast and I was non-existent lol! I always recommend this daycare to my friends with little ones. If I ever switch jobs or get a new schedule, I will definitely come back if they have availability bc my little girl made so many relationships and friends, even with the big kids. The teachers and director are amazing and kind and so very good at what they do. My son has learned and grown so much. Ms Susan, his PreK teacher has prepared him so well for kindergarten, he is starting to read, knows 15 site words, writes all of his letters and numbers and has started simple addition and subtraction. Most importantly, she has instilled a love of learning in him and we can't be more grateful. Incredible staff, safe environment and low ratios. Highly recommend The Springs!!
