We currently have kids at Summit in both the elementary and middle school, and I can honestly say…read moreit's been one of the best decisions we've made for our family. When we were school hunting, one of our biggest non-negotiables were class size and teacher engagement and Summit delivers on both. The classrooms are thoughtfully set up for different learning styles, and the teachers truly know how to meet kids where they are. If a student isn't fully understanding an assignment the teachers work hard to offer solutions. There's individual support, check-ins, and a lot of patience. At the same time, if a child is ready for more of a challenge, the teachers are quick to extend their learning. For example, my child is currently receiving accelerated math assignments to keep her moving forward. One of the things that impressed me most is how many staff members actually know my kids (and me!) personally. Not just their core teachers, but many adults on campus know them by name, stop to talk to them, and seem invested in who they are. The culture at Summit feels collaborative instead of competitive. Kindness is modeled (PEAK to Achieve), different cultures are celebrated, and you can really tell the kids are genuinely happy to be there. It's the kind of environment where kids can grow socially and academically without feeling like they have to "fit in." Both of my children were anxious about starting at a new school, and they were welcomed with open arms. Academically, I appreciate Summit's philosophy...it's not just what they teach, it's how they teach. Critical thinking is encouraged, homework is intentional (not pages of busywork), and there are plenty of enrichment opportunities for kids to explore beyond the standard curriculum. Honestly, all you have to do is take a tour with Kyle to see the joy and magic that's happening on campus on any given day. Social-emotional learning is also a real priority. Like any school, kids will have conflicts sometimes, but what I've seen at Summit is that teachers step in and help facilitate productive, positive resolutions. They're teaching skills that will be useful far beyond elementary and middle school. We recently had a situation like this, and my daughter's teacher worked with the children directly and then followed up with an email to explain what happened and how it was addressed. That level of communication and care means a lot. And the extracurriculars? There are so many options. From no-cut sports to an award winning robotics club, kids have plenty of opportunities to try new things after school and maybe even find their passion. My daughters are both involved in sports and have had the best time. It's not only about winning championships (though Summit does that well too) but it's also about learning teamwork, leadership, and how to show up for others. I also wanted to extend a special thank you to the Head of School, Mr. Wald. My kids absolutely adore him. He's kind, engaging, and makes school fun and welcoming in a way that really matters. If you peek into his office, you'll likely see kids hanging out with him! He's also brought exciting programs to the school, and a few favorites have been Walks With Wald and the Teacher Internship Program. His level of dedication to the school is admirable. One last big thing to note: we commute 30 minutes each way to Summit. While I do sometimes wish we lived closer, I'd drive an hour each way if I had to. My kids don't ever want to miss school and that says everything.

As a parent of a current student, I wanted to share our honest experience because school choice is…read moresuch a deeply personal decision. Before enrolling at this school, our son attended a public charter school where he experienced severe bullying and struggled daily in overcrowded classrooms. He would come home emotionally defeated and anxious. Making the decision to switch to this private school was truly life-changing for our child. The difference has been night and day. Our son is now happy, confident, and feels safe at school again. His mental health, emotional well-being, and overall outlook have improved in ways we honestly hoped for but weren't sure were possible. I also want to note that we drive 30 minutes each way because of the positive environment and support our son receives here. In our experience, the school has been welcoming, attentive, and focused on the students' well-being. The administration and staff have been supportive, communicative, and genuinely invested in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment. For our family, choosing this school has been one of the best decisions we have made for our child's safety, confidence, and overall happiness.

Also Ms. Erin, in charge of enrollments, is probably one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. Now on a more serious note: I had a horrible experience with the "HR rep" and Director of the school, and it's tough for me to write this because I wanted to like this school, and I'm still in shock a bit on how things ended. My 2yr old son had several accidents at this school, majority of which caused injuries to the face - one of which resulted in him losing a tooth, another had his nose looking like he was in a boxing match. Now, any parent knows that accidents happen, the frustration is with the vague incident reports and communication regarding these accidents. I.e telling me "a friend scratched his nose"... then upon pickup his nose was so swollen, his pediatrician recommended I take him to the ER for imaging. At the ER the nurses and Doctor questioned the story and asked if maybe an older child was involved, if it was a closed fist hit, an hit with an object, or maybe even a fall because the "scratch" was more of a scrape on the entire right side of the nose (no little finger nail marks). I brought these concerns to the school, and in short their response was an apology for the "scratch on his nose" and they unenrolled (kicked out) my son from the school due to me "questioning his care". I sent pictures via email of his bruising that was developing as the swelling went down (the inner corners of his eyes and all around the bridge of his nose had greenish bluish bruising), and they told me I "wasn't a doctor" and to "leave the diagnosis to a professional". NOTE: The ER held off on imaging because despite the blood inside his nose, and all the swelling, they could see he was able breathe through his nose so they advised to let the swelling go down and then maybe see and ENT specialist after that. They diagnosed him with a nasal abrasion and nasal contusion, and advised that I question the school more because it was not "just a scratch".... but since I'm not a "professional" to IKM (the HR Rep and Director) my questions and words weren't valid. The ER papers I guess didn't really matter either. My son is 2 years old and despite all the changes with the many teachers, he thrived education wise at that school and IKM said (via email) that maybe I needed "1 on 1" care for my son and all they could offer is a class of "21 - 26 student with 2 teachers". I had requested an in person meeting, and they refused to meet with me, they repeated to me when my sons last day would be, and stated that there "was nothing further to discuss". If you choose this school, I pray you and your child have a better more kind and compassionate experience than I did. Remember that HR and Management (the Director/owner) are the backbone to the school. Without having a solid backbone/foundation that's leading with their hearts - horrible experiences like this will continue to happen. That's not okay.

In those two years, he has truly blossomed. The school has provided an incredibly loving, nurturing, peaceful, and enriching environment that supports not only academics but also social and emotional growth. His teacher, Ms. Lynn, has been extraordinary--gentle, attentive, and genuinely invested in his development. Ms. Meaghan, the director, leads with both heart and high standards, ensuring every child receives exceptional care and education. My child has also benefited from Spanish lessons with the wonderful Sra. Dolores, gaining confidence in both English and Spanish. Moreover, AFM offers this level of quality education at a significantly more affordable tuition compared to other Montessori schools in the area. They have not only taught my son--they have loved him. This is something I will never forget or be able to repay. I wholeheartedly recommend AFM to any family seeking a school that truly nurtures both the heart and mind of children while fully supporting their parents.

My wife felt the same way. Picking your child's first school is a very important step in parenthood. I was nervous and excited for my daughter to start her educational career at Adobe Montessori. So much so that I actually spent the first day of school sitting in my car in the parking lot, just in case the school needed me to pick her up for any reason. She loved the school from the first day, and I was so relieved. This school was the perfect fit for her. We loved the school so much that when the time came for our younger daughter to go to start school, we had her attend the same school. My family trusts the staff there. They are all good people. They genuinely cared for my children and my children loved them. I owe them my deepest appreciation for helping to mold my children into good people. Adobe Montessori was more than just a school, it is a place that works with families to teach their children how to be independent thinkers. My children are in the public school system now. They are in a more "traditional" system. I know that a lot of parents out there worry about how their children will transition into a traditional school. When your child leaves Adobe Montessori, he/she will already be trained to adapt to any situations the traditional school system present. Adobe Montessori is a great first step in your child's journey into the world of education.

I never worry about the safety or emotional well-being of my daughter while she's at school. My daughter is in Mrs. Coleman's class, and you couldn't ask for a better preschool teacher. She and her teaching assistant, Jessica, are kind and patient with the children, but also teach them what behavior is not acceptable. Not only does my daughter learn the educational building blocks she'll need for elementary school (reading, writing, arithmetic), but she learns good manners, sharing, being polite, and being a good friend to all. As she tells me, "We're all friends at Adobe Montessori." Adobe also has a flexible "pay what you use" pre- and after-care policy, rather than charging a set fee regardless of how much after-care you use. The school is also in a lovely setting with a grass courtyard; I toured over a dozen preschools, and this was one of the only ones to get natural light into the classrooms. The playground has modern equipment (fun, but still safe for preschoolers), and the school has a variety of activities throughout the year (petting zoo, parent parties, parent education nights, an annual operetta put on by the children). They also offer dance and music classes.
