The technician came, stayed for 15 minutes or so and simply told me the whole system needs replacement. His diagnostic didn't provide voltages test, whether the indoor motor fan or control board needed replacement. All he wrote was that he was unable to take measurement and that it 'looks' like there are multiple problems. Trying to sell me a new system that's twice what I paid 10 years ago. I regret ever calling them!

They installed a Dual Start capacitator for $225.00 and added 2 units of refridgerant for $170.00. My total bill was $1,143.94. A week later the air conditioner stopped working again. I called JCD to tell them and said that as they had just been there I shouldn't have to pay for the residential call again. They refused and said that it was probably a 'different' problem than the one they had repaired. I was not willing to spend another $400. on a company that would not guarantee their repairs, especially after only a week. I think this company overcharges and is dishonest. Stay away from them at all costs.

It was a dark and stormy winter: A girlfriend with hair as long as Rapunzel "let her hair down",…read moreclogging the drain. A back-deck spigot epic failed, showering the neighbors below in freezing water. An old bathtub install went wrong, where seemingly drunk non-qualified plumbers had a silicon-seizure when installing the piping. To shield us from the perfect storm, we called Beaver. After we rescheduled what felt like 5 times with Melissa, we finally got the plumbers in. Two things: First, Melissa was awesome, answering the phone at all times of the day or night. Second, she was absolutely facilitating and kept her cool when we kept throwing a "wrench" in the plumbing plans (see what I did there?) The plumbers themselves were absolutely professional. Without pointing fingers or calling names, they discovered that two of the three problems (the outside spigot and the epic-leaky tub) were due to incorrect installations. Instead of turning us into cash-cows and emptying our pockets by re-plumbing everything, they fixed the problem by simply re-configuring some gaskets. This "lowest-level" first approach is admirable, and inspires a lot of confidence. Pricing: Not as cheap as joe-blow from Craigslist, but you get what you pay for! More importantly, they have been around for 12 years, are fully insured, have their RBQ number on their invoices, and guarantee their work. For the three problems, it was around 200 bucks. Truck Charge was 10 bucks, labor was 75 bucks an hour per person that they sent out (they sent out two, as we expected the job to be colossal), and they have a minimum service charge (should consult their website or give them a call if curious as to what that is). We had both a receipt in our email inbox and our payment processed via Credit Card before the gentlemen left. Bravo! Setting the standard. Bonus: We found out our downstairs neighbor used the same plumberie for his boiler installation, based upon referrals from other people. He loved them when they came out as well. Double-Bonus: Mon francais est terrible, and the company is very much bilingual. Awesome. Thanks Beav', we'll be calling you again!
