But we have been eating some form of lechon since we arrived on New Year's Day so I was getting tired of it LoL! just a little. I ordered grilled chicken instead. Conching's is famous for one thing: their charcoal-grilled native chicken. What is a native chicken? They are more commonly raised in rural areas, cage-free. They are smaller in size than the regular chicken, it's because of their organic diet. Both its size and diet make these native chicken unique and more natural in taste. We ordered two servings and it didn't disappoint. So delicious, salted just right and the skin is crunchy. Setting looks rundown, nothing fancy with long tables and plastic chairs and a grill out front. Very laid back. Live music entertained the diners... young adults with music instruments. I was amused. As we waited for them to grill our food, we picked a table and the waitress came over and took our order for rice and beverages. About 10-15 minutes later we have our rice and bbq meats! The meats were tender and fell off the bone, they were perfectly cooked! The bbq sauces were delicious , it had a nice sweet Smokey taste. We literally spent about $15 for everything. This place is a must try if you're around.

Somehow they magically know which plate belongs to which table and they'll bring it out to you once everything is all cooked. Luckily I was with Matias experts so they knew all the ropes! Don't expect anything fancy, it's literally just some good ol fashioned home style bbq with classic vinegar and soy sauce. Everything was delicious but the chicken was probably my favorite. So tender! Don't forget the puso, or hanging rice either! Add on a mango shake, you won't regret it. We had almost a dozen different mango shakes during our stay in the Philippines and this one was easily in my top 3 favorites.
