Beware they charge a $25 fee for any service when you walk in. I didn't know this until after the service was done. I only had a broken key removed from a lock in a small safe. The safe isn't worth $25. I do not recommend this business. Seems unfair and dishonest. read more

I scheduled a locksmith to come out for a gun safe lockout. The locksmith technician arrived early and went right to work. I watched as he used tools to enter the safe in less than 30 seconds. Upon entering the safe he suggested a "tune up" which I agreed was a good idea. He further explained that over time the tumblers inside the combination lock become worn and out of alignment. He also stated that the maintenance he would perform would solve any future problems with the lock. I watched as he removed the back panel and reset the internal mechanism back to the original combination. After completing his work, he tested the operation of the lock by dialing the combination several times. Each time he was successful opening the safe door. He then asked me to open the safe several times to ensure the safe was working properly and that I was satisfied with his work. Great service, would highly recommend to anyone needing a safe lock reset and repaired. read more

Dropped my son's civic off at noon to get the driver's door lock fixed. We were told it would be a couple of hours. At 4:30 I called because I hadn't heard anything and was told he couldn't fix it but we couldn't pick it up yet because the door wasn't put back together. They are now closed and now word about his car. read more

my husband lost the only key to his truck at work. we soon learned that wasn't covered by insurance. I called AAA-1 to come out and help, based on yelp reviews and being close by. the reviews don't lie. they answered right away, nice over the phone. told me it was gonna be $155 for a new key for the truck. came out to my husbands work about 45 minutes later, took less than 20 minutes. made him 2 keys for his truck for $200. I can say we are both really happy with their service and how prompt they were. obviously it's no fun to spend $200 on a couple keys, but it kind of just is what it is. appreciate their help! read more

What I needed done was simple-enough for just about any locksmith, I suppose, but it certainly was easy here. I have a Schlage deadbolt & locking entry doorknob and needed them keyed to the same key. The young woman working behind the counter did the job quickly, with a smile, and the charge was quite reasonable, $11.00 and change. Again, this is a simple transaction for just about any locksmith but, based upon this one experience, I would certainly recommend this business. This is a busy place. Don't blame them. They will have you waiting at least an hour or so which is OK I suppose. I called this place on a Sunday which most places are closed. He showed up, took 2 minutes, popped the door. It was great, exactly the service I needed. Handed over $55 and called it a day. My wife lost her car key fob and house keys. We thought they had been stolen. She called Advance Lock and key of Boise. For the fob alone they wanted $460.00 and gave her some song and dance about having to do two in order to program them otherwise it couldn't be done. She gave me their quote and I called AAA-1 Lock & Key. For them to come out to my house and program a single fob and re-key my 4 house doors I was quoted $205.00. I was also informed that it was not necessary to program 2 fobs. We found the keys but to think that Advance Lock & Key wanted more than double for just the car and basically lied about having to make two fob's is disturbing. I may not have needed AAA-1's service today after all but I know where I will be going for all my lock and key services. read more

After getting frustrated with his tone of voice, I suggested that maybe it would be better if I called someone else. At this point, he hung up on me. It was 9:00 pm and I was on my way home from a dance recital when I realized that I had locked my keys in my car. I went online and called them and they came immediately to my location within 15 minutes had my car unlocked and keys out within less than 60 seconds. To make things even better they billed my insurance for me. Will always use them in the future. They were a life saver!!! read more

The lady manage is rude, she makes it sound like it's MY fault for not knowing certain things about keys and programming. Umm this is my first time owning a newer car. How would I know this stuff!?? Other then her attitude the other employees are fast and professional, although I have had to come in 2 extra times to have the keys I purchased reprogrammed 2 more times (technology sometimes failes, I get that). I was always able to get in within days to get that programming done. This last time I needed the reprogram the 3rd key I tried to use it after I lost it (during a move) and I stressed the urgency of the programming due to moving out of state and I was able to be helped with in a couple hours. In the long run everything works well now and even with the multiple visits and the attitude of the office the keys for my specific car were cheaper then other shops. read more

Excellent service and quick response!! I was locked out of my vehicle with the engine running, it was 15 degrees outside and I called to see if they could help open the door to my pickup truck any sooner than the estimated arrival (85 minutes!) of the company my insurance uses, and they dispatched a technician who was on site within 5 minutes! Cool thing was that the guy who helped me get into my truck also gave me a spare part to replace the broken one (plastic clip that joins the door handle linkage together) that had prevented me from getting back in my vehicle in the first place - at no extra charge! Once I got home I was able to fix the lock with the part he gave me. I am very pleased with the service and kindness I received. Definitely recommend them! read more

Quick, same day service. We wanted 3 doors in a recently purchased house to have the same key. It involved a trip to a hardware store, drilling a hole for a deadbolt and one new doorknob and rekeying two others. I will not use AAA-1 lock and key ever again. I called on a Sunday to ask about a possible issue with the chip in my key, as my vehicle wouldn't start and the anti-theft light was flashing. I was told they could come out and determine if it was the key and/or the anti-theft sensor was bad. I was quoted $100 to fix the sensor and cut a spare key. I had already purchased a chipped key online, it just needed to be cut. The tech showed up more than an hour an a half later, turned the key in my door and started my vehicle. It as not an issue with my key or sensor and I feel like he knew to reset it by turning my key in the door and could have told me to try this over the phone. I asked him how much just to cut my spare key since he was there and he said "I told you about a $100." He had quoted me $100 to fix everything, not just to cut a key that I had already purchased. I have since called Harv's Lock Shop in Nampa who quoted me $25 to cut the key. AAA-1 was there less than 5 minutes and charged me $50 for showing up and turning my key in the door. I understand having a service fee, but this is outrageous. Not only that, but to also try and inflate the cost of cutting a spare key that I provided, double over what another locksmith would charge. Sorry AAA-1 you have lost my business, I will be heading to Harv's Lock Shop from now on. read more
