Then they clogged up my plumbing by blowing junk down the lines instead of disconnecting them like I asked. With the plumbing backed up it leaked water out in a bathroom causing damage to cabinets and stuff in them. I called saying the system wouldn't cool but they didn't want to come out and look at it they said it would have to wait until normal business hours. They didn't level the system so when it froze up from a loss of Freon two weeks after the install I had water coming through the Sheetrock in my kitchen. After all of this time we are at the three month mark still dealing with Freon leaks and it not cooling. The owner Dave decided to walk away from the job leaving us worse off than before he started. I hired another company to come in and they found a safety sensor disconnected and bypassed that is required to be hooked up to prevent a fire with the new Freon and that the installing techs mixed the new Freon with an older type. I requested license numbers of people working on my system and they wouldn't give them. The owner said no money owed for their work and no further support would be given but I'm still stuck with damages at my house and a bill to another company for ac work.

First: Competitors I got several estimates - My home warranty's contractor, Home Depot/ARS, a friend's husband, and Richmond's Air. Richmond's Air was the most reasonable price among all estimates, even the friend! He also took less than 30 minutes to take a look and give me an estimate. Home Depot was here for hours and gave me a presentation and ultimately an unbelievably high price which they later slashed by $4k when I said I wouldn't choose them. Still too high, also weird that they were gonna charge $4k extra? Second: Communication/Punctuality James told me a reasonable window of time that the team would arrive and also when they'd complete the job. They gave me a call beforehand to let me know they were running a little late, regardless the job was done on time (same day). They replaced everything but my furnace. Finally: Service The team was friendly and explained anything I asked about and even helped me install my new thermostat. They put a drop cloth down from the front door to the AC and left minimal dust or mess. They also gave me the manuals for the equipment as well as told me about the 10 year warranty. This was all a month ago and my AC has been working perfectly since and air quality reads way cleaner than when I moved in. Dealing with a broken AC in Houston is horrible and I highly recommend reaching out to Richmond's Air instead of wasting time shopping for multiple other quotes. Maybe get one other one and compare, you'll see the difference. Price, service, and quality were great. Would definitely call again for my next home.
