Terrible customer service. They blunt force funnel you into their app, the guy who showed up for the tow didn't let me know he was here, and when I came out to ask about the job he just drove off saying I was taking too long. I was called today at 800-222-1134. If I could give this company zero stars I would. AAA - Terrible customer service. The first representative I spoke to left me speechless and transferred the call to who knows where. Another representative came back and told me that she had updated my cars in the system. When I checked on the computer, no one did anything. I called again and this last representative who spoke English and Spanish told me that I don't have to update the system if I have a new car. That if I have a Lexus registered, it doesn't matter if I call them and for any reason the car is a Ford and I have my membership card present. And why didn't anyone explain that to me from the beginning? read more

Have been trying since May to have a non-AAA agent removed from my policy and place the policy solely under AAA and make it a house policy. After letters to Tampa finally I was told to go to the Ft Myers office and speak to a representative. I did and was told this can be done. Agent would need to talk to a higher position agent. This was over two months ago and still not corrected. I don't know the next step sine the agent JeffT is not returning my calls. Simple request but no customer service. read more

I am truly shocked about the number of negative reviews for my local AAA. I called on Monday, July22, 2024 requesting a tow. I received several text messages updating the arrival time of the tow truck. The last one even showed me a map of my area and showed the progress pf the tow truck. I was very impressed with the professionalism and expertise of Nelson B. He went above and beyond. My truck was under a car port and Nelson's truck couldn't get close enough to get my vehicle on his rig. He pushed my truck down the driveway and into the street, where he perfectly lined up my vehicle and then winched it on to his tow truck. Nelson precisely maneuvered my truck and he did it with a big smile. I was most impressed with his attitude as well as his skill. Nelson is a gem! Although I gave Nelson a "5" I cannot award a high grade to the automated phone system, which was totally useless. read more

Waited two hours for AAA roadside to come checkout my car, then for them to "call" a tow truck company. I waited three hours for a tow truck to come tow my vehicle. Incredibly long and upsetting, I called to check on the status of that request for them to leave me on hold and completely ignore my regard for safe travels. They hung up and took HOURS to call back. Two different cars has flat tires because of a board on a highway (not their fault). They kept on making excuses, saying they had a tow truck in Port Charlotte, then they had this and that, and we were bouncing between agents and different phone calls. It's easy to just say what you need. Had to wait 5 hours for the first one, 8 hours for the second. They're great at repairing, just suck at getting to where you need them to be. read more

Super helpful staff I went in to get a passport picture. Sue was so nice and helpful. She took the picture and within 5 minutes it was ready. She gave me the necessary paperwork and helped me fill it out correctly They have lots of travel supplies too Vicky helped me find the perfect suitcase at a great discount. They have a stand that you can use to open and really examine the bags. If you're thinking of using the AAA roadside assistance program in the Cape Coral, Ft. Myers area, think again. Feb. 2019 My wife ran out of gas in the late evening. AAA was notified, but after about 2 hours of waiting, were informed that AAA did not have anyone to respond. Feb 14th, this year, with friend had alternater trouble. Called AAA at about 5:PM and did not get a responder until after 8:30 PM. If you're in the Cape Coral FL. area, I would strongly consider using another roadside assistance program. Not sure if there is a lack of tow companies or wether the phone staff is incompetent. I really rate aaa with NO STARS. read more

I'm a gold member of AAA, customer for over 2 years. had a flat tire and called AAA. some random truck came and on the website i specifically put that two passengers were riding with. we had to go to a tire place obviously, when he arrived he told us he didn't have room for us. so i ended up having to pay $15 for an uber to get us as quick as possible. as a gold member of AAA i'm extending upset. read more

Beware of how complicated it is to file a auto claim with AAA. Transferred multiple times taking an hour with no result. Agent finally contacted me and said he'd have to look into it and advise. Their phone automated system is inadequate and their reps are only good at transferring you. Used online claim and was told that because I had the claim had to be verified. Why have online if you have to repeat yourself multiple times? Still unresolved. Can't recommend AAA Insurance. read more

Bought this membership for my daughter going to school in Florida. She got a flat tire at 10pm. Called Aaa and they said they were sending someone and they would be there at 11:20. 11:20 comes and they never showed. She called back and they said they couldn't get a hold of anyone so they needed to put in a new request. She waited till 1:00am!!! No help, no call!!! We had AAA Auto Insurance on two cars. We were set up on auto renew. We had changed credit cards and the renew payment did not go through. Rather than AAA contacting us by phone or mail to let us know there was problem, a week later they cancelled our insurance. We drove for two months without knowing that we did not have any insurance until the State of Florida contacted us to ask why we were uncovered!! Unbelievable that a company would cancel you without any attempt to rectify or resolve the issue. Thank God we had no accidents during that period of time. Will never use AAA again. read more

It was wonderful to be able to purchase the new battery I needed right on the spot and have it installed in my driveway. He even helped me learn about the installation process, should I need to do so in the future and gave me some great tips. Absolutely horrible experience. Waiting 6 hours for an emergency tow. Had to make multiple calls, on phone hold multiple times. Complained to AAA corporate about the lack of service, follow up and response time. Not surprisingly, no response since NO one there really seems to care. Obviously no concern or interest in taking care of customers in need for services that are paid for and expected. Hard to believe AAA has been in business for over 100 years and that stupid me has been a "loyal" customer for 10 years as it notes on the membership card. I have the AAA premium membership and so does my neighbor. Yesterday his wife got stuck with a dead battery and contacted AAA at 1:30 PM. They said they would dispatch someone to jump start and/or replace her battery right away. By 7:30 PM and five or six repeat calls to AAA, still no help. THEY NEVER CAME. At about 8 PM she called again and after a long hold time, AAA said a driver was on the way and would contact her directly. Fifteen minutes later the driver called and said he would be there in 1 1/2 hour but had no battery. He asked if it was raining where she was and she said yes. The driver said he was going to decline the service call. 8 AM the next morning, still no response from AAA. She called AutoZone who came and helped her with a new battery. AAA sucks and after decades of being a customer, today I will cancel. They are worthless and couldn't less about you being stranded. read more

This comment is about my experience with your road service or total lack of it in Fort Myers on 11/30/22. At 3:20, I placed a call to AAA telling them that I was at a gas station on Daniels, and after filling my tank, I had no power. They recommend a tow truck and said that company would be calling me soon with their ETA. After 20 minutes and no call, I called back. The agent called them and told me they would be 1 1/2 hours. After 1 1/2 hours and no word, I called back. The agent checked and said that they were running late, but would be there soon. I inquired about what company they were sending and they told me it was Alpine. I looked it up, and it seemed they were based out of Miami, but the agent said that they had a business in Fort Myers. I asked to be placed with another towing service. I was told that if they did that it would be an even longer wait. After waiting 3 hours no one showed up, no calls from Alpine Towing, I called again and got the same run around. By that time, it was dark and I was alone. After four hours, and another call to AAA, I was told Alpine Towing couldn't come and AAA would have to start a new order. I got help with my car from an independent. Thanks AAA , for no service. I've been a member of AAA since 1977. I've always felt safe and secure with your service in Michigan. I'm so disappointed with your lack of help in Fort Myers. I won't be joining when my membership runs out. I'd like to give you no stars if that were possible in this review. read more

I've had two different experiences with the AAA Fort Myers since moving to the city. The first time was over a year ago, when I needed a jump on my car. No problems there; got the wheel and deal and over with. No problems since. The second time I used them, was to go to the actual location on Colonial. This I can not give a full line of stars for, as I was with other people and we all thought the place would be open. It wasn't, as it was a Saturday morning and the hours are Monday to Friday, only. Other offices used to be open Saturdays with limited hours, but that was years ago. We were upset because one of the people in my party was looking for information for Disney - rates, deals, etc. She doesn't have time to go during the 8:30-5:30 time frame as she's in work. She'd have to do some heavy driving to get over there by 5:15 to talk to someone. You would think that the place *would* be open at least for 2 hours on a weekend, to work with the people who have that day off. We had left the parking lot like "that was a bust" because it was the main reason we had gone to that end of the boulevard. Will any of us be back? Time will tell since we'd need a week day off to get over there. Lunch hours wouldn't cut it, so even half a day would suffice. Who knows, but we'll still be holding on to our memberships because the other services that are offered are A- OK. read more

Do not order theme park tickets from AAA Hurricane Mathew closed the park and AAA is telling us that tickets are non refundable Even if the park was closed. Now if we purchased the tickets from the park we would get are refund. So how does this happen. I do understand if you just purchased tickets and changed your mind on going but this was an act of God. We had no idea the park would be closed when the tickets were purchased. read more

Yes they are great for issuing maps, and booklets. We travel a great deal and the only time we had an issue (dead battery) 5/19 needed to call AAA FL even though we were in CA. Spent 25 minutes trying to reach FL to contact CA for help. Endless information, endless loop back to the menu and two disconnects, plus transferred us to NJ instead of CA. Of course while this is going on , you still have to keep explaining the issue, the 16 digit membership number, and a level of incompetence that can only be found in FL. When we were finally connected to CA, the professionalism was remarkable including a text and great service. It took our waiting time with CA. + constant updates texting 15 minutes for mechanic to arrive and 15 minutes for battery replacement. Note been a member for 39 years. Over those years I have also taken cars to the AAA approved independent garages (worthless), used there car buying (note excellent until they went to truecar) worthless , We do have term insurance , competitive, If it wasn't for the fact that we do a lot of traveling and with the towing @200 miles , I would drop them immediately. read more

I have been a member of the AAA Auto Club for years and years and was on my second renewal of AAA Auto insurance when I decideded to incorporate my Home Ownwers in Dec of 2021. Spoke with a CSR and we worked our way thru getting the two policies together. I found that a small accident a year earlier, that was forgiven by AAA Auto, was going to be charged by the bundled insurance, a different group. When I said we could go no further I was put on hold and told an Underwriter said they could also forgive it so I now have a written quotation with HOs and Auto. Made the deal and paid the bill starting December 2021. Early January I received three new bills saying I owed an additional total of $748. Because of the "forgiven" accident and because I was not using AAA Drive, whatever that is. Contacted my agent and never received a reason for the changes but had to pay the extra 700+ to keep insurance going. Fast forward to March 2022 and I received another $38 bill for the Home Owners. I called the number on the policy and spoke to a great agent in Tampa who explained it was because I did not have a wind mitigation certificate for my home. She and her boss said that the discounts should not have been given unless the local office had a copy of the certificate. They also said the extra charge for the accident would be charged for 3 years while the original CSR said it would only be charged for 1 year. These charges for just two years is way over the cost of the fender bender. Unfortunately they could not help being in another office and now for days I have been trying to get hold of a Manager in the Fort Myers area with no luck or call back. And my agent ignores all my emails, maybe because I told her how disappointed I was with how poorly everything was handled. While it may be a good company I would hesitate to work with this office if you want good and accurate service. read more

We plan all of our trips through AAA. Angie Agnello is the best travel agent. She always klnows what we want and finds the best deals for us. She bends over backwards to accommodate us and always has a smile on her face. She makes you feel like you are the only person she is working with, even though she is alwys busy Everyone at the Ft. Myers office is friendly and they alwys remember who you are. We have been back home in Florida for 15 years and have used the Ft. Mers office this entire time. This is not about this particular office this is about the AAA roadside service that I received on Thursday my daughter is 8 1/2 months pregnant with a flat tire on the side of the road in 98° weather with a 10-year-old and it took them four hours to say they were going to get there and then when they were supposed to get there they called and told her it was gonna be at least another half an hour now we're talking about a road in Clewiston where it isn't safe to be on the side of the road because of the traffic . In my call to the representative and then supervisor was worthless all they had to do was say were sorry we are doing the best we can .It is pretty sad to know that this is the best they're doing because THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING .AAA has lost my auto policy my homeowners and now I'm going to be dropping my AAA because as the representative told me they try and the word try was what upset me to get people to get help as soon as possible .Well they could not have tried to hard because my daughter finally called A tow truck and they came and fixed her flat within 20 to 25 minutes.Maybe AAA can explain to me why they can't get tow trucks in a timely manner to a roadside emergency or maybe they didn't think her being 8 1/2 months pregnant with a 10-year-old and 98° weather was an emergency do they think you can sit in your car for 4 1/2 hours with the air conditioner running do they not know it's unsafe to leave you in a car for 4 1/2 hours even with the Air on .That you're not even supposed to be doing that to your vehicle . No less with you in your vehicle. So all I have to say is I've been paying for this service since 2003 and my first experience using it will be my last they have lost my policy with roadside assistance my homeowners policy and my auto policy there will be no renewal of any of it and I don't know how many businesses can afford to lose $5000 worth of policies but I guess they feel they can.Be wary because when they say they can assist you When you have an emergency it'll be when they can find somebody that will except the money or from what I gather little money they give these companies they work with.it should be named AAA road side assistance when we can get there today to tomorrow just when we can. read more

My review is based on road side service! Had a dead battery and placed call to 800 number and was told it would be about 45 minute wait, gave them my cell number and while waiting I received texts letting me know when arrival time would be. About 10 minutes prior I received phone call from technician saying he on way. Carl the technician was awesome. Very professional and diagnosed that I had a bad cell in battery and that I would need a new one. He explained what I needed size wise and then said he could install one if I wanted him to. How convenient to install new battery, saves ton of time and same costs as autozone, with a terrific warranty! Great service, AAA member since 2008 and worth every penny! read more

Every time I have a horrible interaction with corporate America/monoliths r us whathaveyou, I start to give in to complacency and think "Well, they are big, it must be difficult to make all the people happy all of the time..." I think back to AAA. This is a giant, national non-for-profit network that serves its customers well. They are easily reached, employ the newest technologies, help those in serious need, and do these things with courtesy. As consumers, we need to remind those GIANTS that consistently fall short (Yes, I'm talking to you Xfinity, BOA, and BCBS) that they can and should do better. Thanks, AAA. Been a member for 15 years.
