I need to change my review and give AAA 5 stars. They called me last week and after talking with Troy we came to an agreement and they are addressing all of the issues to get my car back on the road. They were responsive to my concerns and I appreciate them listening to me and working together. This is a place I will definitely go back in the future. In December 2025, I had my CV joints replaced, and an oil change completed at this location. However, two weeks later, I noticed an oil leak, and I was informed that the valve cover gasket needed to be replaced, with an estimate of approximately $1,000. Upon starting the repair work, I was contacted and informed that in addition to the valve cover gaskets both valve covers also required replacement, causing the estimated cost to nearly double. Although I expressed concern about the increased charges and asked if we could stop the work and put it back together as I was considering selling the car soon, I was told that the work had already begun and could not be stopped at that point. Reluctantly, I approved the additional repairs, bringing the total cost to nearly $2,000. When I picked up my car I asked if the original valve covers were defected. I was told that this problem is common in the Honda Odyssey but I was only told only after the work was started not before. Why they did not tell me all of this during the estimate and give me time to consider investing the money into a new vehicle rather than after the money was already spent? If they did I would not have fixed my car but rather purchase a new one. The costs and repairs did not stop there. Just a few days after the repairs were completed, I noticed more oil on my driveway, and the check engine light illuminated. My vehicle was subsequently towed to AAA Car Center, where I was informed of a solenoid gasket oil leak, , as well as a power steering fluid leak. Additionally, the diagnostic scan revealed six trouble codes associated with the check engine light. I was later told that it is not uncommon for a new leak to appear after gaskets are replaced because of the increased pressure. I asked why they not told me this possibility at the time of the repairs, as they knew I didn't want to spend endless money on the car and would have decided to stop the repairs. The gentleman said, "if I told my customers this, they would not do the repairs, and we would not have business". At the beginning I just asked for honesty and transparency but I truly feel I was taken advantage of once they started the repairs, as they knew they had me in a position that I could not turn back from and the bill kept increasing. While I was advised that the oil leak should be addressed immediately, I was told that the remaining issues could wait. Given that I had expressed my intention to limit expenses, as I was considering purchasing a new vehicle, I brought my car home. I have spent $3000 in 2 months, and I have a car I cannot drive. I'm not actually a AAA member but you still find uses for AAA even these days. I needed an international driver's license and they had me in and out in maybe 10 minutes. They also have maps and other services of course, and this location includes a mechanic shop but I don't know what level of services they offer - I know they do tires and oil changes, plus inspections and checking things like warning lights. read more

Had my car towed here through my AAA membership. Great communication and fast service, but the price with my 10% discount was $150 more than the upper band of the price range when researched online. We needed the car running, so we paid the price, but definitely felt we overpaid. read more

For travel services, the first time we used them it was impeccable. The second time, it was not. I had to find my own hotel and tell the travel agent. She booked flights, but I had to arrange for the seats to be next to each other. We had an issue with a hotel charging us a fraudulent charge and received no support from AAA. I've been looking for a new place to bring my car for maintenance that is relatively close to where I live, and after getting a set of four new tires from Discount Tire, felt it was a smart thing to get an alignment done. On top of that, an oil change was due, as well as the 25k maintenance! So this place had a nice laundry list. I am a AAA member, but have never tried one of their service centers. I can tell you right now, that is a mistake I won't make again. I was delighted by this place from drop off to pick up. First of all, you can book an appointment and see all of their services online. I made mine and on arrival, my car was attended to right away. AAA members get a discount here on any labor, which is a nice extra, and I also had a coupon for a discount on the alignment. They told me the total work would take a little over an hour, so I left to have lunch nearby at La Hacienda. True to their word, the car was ready on time and I got a comprehensive report on the functions and condition of the vehicle. All discounts were applied, including a discount on the 25k maintenance, and the charge was very reasonable. Charged for diagnostic on a part i knew needed replacement, mark up for part by $300.00 and overcharged for labor.

I have a 2011 Honda Pilot, check engine light was on. Took it in for an evaluation, they ran a diagnostic, which included a $12.75 shop fee. When I asked what this was for, I was told (by Aiden) that it's added to every invoice and there's nothing he could do about it. What possible shop supplies are used in a simple diagnostic? They quoted me over $8,000 for replacement of two catalytic converters and oxygen sensors, etc. Besides this being an absurd amount, through my research I learned the Pilot actually has three catalytic converters. When I mentioned this to Aiden, he disagreed. This makes me doubt their ability to accurately work on my car. Additional research shows that their parts prices are very high, to say the least. Regarding AAA Car Care: I brought 7 qts of synthetic oil for an oil change because I do not like to take chances on what is put into my car. I was told that they could only use their oil. To save time, I agreed. Later I found that AAA only put 5 qts of oil in my cars engine. These people are either inexperienced, stupid or just plain ripoffs. I have never gone back. Had a flat tire but didn't have the wrench to put on the spare. Requested roadside assistance through the app to get someone to come out and put on my spare. I was quoted a 15 min wait. After 30 minutes I called and was told that I'd be delayed another 45 minutes. I understood that they were probably going to be late. And hour and a half later, still no response. Called and told that the local shop couldn't come and do it so they were out sourcing to a further unit. At this point, it was almost midnight and I had waited 2.5 hours and kept getting my eta pushed back. I cancelled the service call and paid $20 to get an Uber home. I woke up this morning to a "dead" car. I used my AAA card to call for a tow truck. Tow truck came and took my car to the nearest AAA center. I called the AAA center to let them know my car was coming. The rep was so nice and professional. I thought my battery was ok and was nervous thinking it was something major. It was the battery, but the tech called about other things with my car that were safety issues. He kept me updated and I received a text and link to a well documented report with pictures to show the issues. I had about 8 services done. They fixed all of it the same day...new tires, my heat is working, new battery, new fluids, brake pads, filters and alignment. My car feels brand new. They finished an hour before they estimated and sent me a Lyft driver to pick me up. I drive a Honda. Let me tell you, I took my car to the Honda place up the street this summer to get it checked...They missed all of this and left all my fluid caps off (which most likely caused some fluids to evaporate) and took the cover off my battery, which caused it to jiggle (on my way to do a review for them). If there was a negative number, I would choose it for this rating. We have used AAA for many years without much trouble. We don't need their services much, but when we do we expect good service as we have never really utilized the service and it has not been cost effective. The last two times we use them it has been a nightmare. On one occasion they sent a really nasty tow truck operator to pick up my mustang. He was so nasty that I told him to go home...that I didn't want to deal with his attitude. Then this pas Saturday, we had a flat tire. My wife was there with my daughter. They waited and waited and waited....for about an hour and called to find out where they were. They said they would be there in about 1/2 hour. After an hour and then waiting for 20 minutes on hold, they said that no one was coming and that they would expedite the service. Two hours later, my wife called me fuming and asked if I would come to change the tire....which I did. You can imagine how happy I was when we paid for this service already. GOOD BY, AAA, and for those of you who have already purchased AAA...their service is terrible....and not worth the money. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! PS....when we called to complain, they did NOTHING to compensate us for the wasted time and money for gas. They simply said..."have a nice weekend!". BEWARE!!! read more

I say ok, I wasn't asked for an email or anything so I had no confirmation or anything like that. I get there this morning along with two other gentlemen one of whom also said he had an appointment at 8:00 am. I wait an extra 20 minutes and nobody shows up. The location provides car care, insurance, travel and travel related merchandise. They also offer NC state emissions inspection which is a prerequisite to renew car registration. They also offer engine oil change, tires, electric system check, batteries, etc. The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. They're happy to engage the customer and answer any questions they have. I was at this car care Center to remove a nail in the tire. The mechanic took the time to explain the situation and how it'd be fixed. They also let me know upcoming services that would be needed. By far one of the greatest experiences I've had with an auto repair shop! Earl was wonderful on my initial visit he and devontae were very Informative they made me aware of how the warranty process works and I left feeling confident. Throughout the 2 weeks my car was there Earl called me with as many updates as he could and kept me encouraged along the way. This is the biggest scam I have ever seen in my life. They tried to charge us a 400 dollars just as the service charge. The part we needed to replace only costed 314 dollars in all the tried to make us pay 700 dollars just for an alternator. We also believe that they put a bolt in our tires to try to break them charging us more luckily we managed to prevent that. read more

Erik Smith and Phillip Huffman both helped me, and they were great. Nice people and friendly service. But I'm totally baffled how my $17.95 oil-change coupon ended up costing me $56. The service manager explained that the oil recommended for my car was "10W-30 conventional" which they didn't stock. Huh - that's the most common grade on the planet? So they went out and bought 6 qts at a local store and charged me their cost plus a markup. Now, the coupon promises "up to 5 quarts of the type and grade recommended for your car." You would be better off tossing your hard earned cash out the window of a speeding car during an hurricane. After multiple unreturned phone calls and 1300.00 later, our car continued with the same symptoms before we entered a service repair contract with them. Although the service writer promised their repair work was guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles, they, after 4 weeks of giving us delayed repairs, told us we needed to take our car to the Nissan dealership for a deeper analysis of the engine. After Nissan provided a diag and a ridiculous quote, I did further research and repaired the car for only 200.00. The engine code has reset and engine is running stronger than ever. I am filing complaints with BBB and seeking refund of at least the money spent in unneeded parts AAA said would fix the issue. read more

I have had my Ford Expedition worked on two times. Two thousand dollars later I had to have the brakes they worked on fixed by another service center. The truck still has another problem that they said they fixed. He looked at my bills from aaa car care and said this was almost double what they should have charged. Truck wouldn't start and my father was in Pennsylvania hospitalized and dying. They were quick to get me in then called back with a 1700 estimate for repairs. Said there was no oil as well which puzzled me since I have oil changes done routinely. Needless to say I authorized the repair then picked up truck. Five days later he was doing same thing and wouldn't turn over. Had it towed back in and all along it was a fuse. Still was wondering what I got for 1700 bucks because my truck still was not running right. Called my regular garage and took it to them. Within an hour he determined the engine was about to jump time and with that F150 it usually means the death of the engine...hence the tapping noise...NOT OIL RELATED. He directed me to Green Ford for second opinion and they confirmed it. I would think trained mechanics would have found this initially. Since then I have canceled my AAA membership and I won't have a flat fixed there. Few years back we had a Passat we took there for routine oil changes. Took my care to have tie rod ends replaced and ended up being advised that I needed a new serpentine belt and battery. Agreed to the additional services (to the tune of over $600 total), only to discover three days later that the serpentine belt had been incorrectly installed, and was partially shredded. Returned to have them reinstall a new belt, and was compensated with a coupon for a free oil change. As if I'd let them touch my vehicle again! Pretty unbelievable that they think a $40 oil change is sufficient to make up for the inconvenience, wasted time and gas to return for them to fix their mistake, much less potentially endangering my life with their incompetence. read more

They also sent a driver to pick me up the next morning when my car was ready. Phillip the manager came out to my car when I picked it up to make sure I understood what the issue was with my car. My car shut down on the 85 and I was towed to this location. Upon arrival I was greeted by Erik Smith and he helped me with everything from top to bottom. I was so worried about what was wrong with my car well as it turned out I needed a new engine. This is when I learned that was just not a car care center but a people care center too! Erik did more to help me, making sure my warranty covered it to ensuring I understood every detail of what would happen and how long it would take. Went in for oil change. Nice staff but over sell things you don't need. Recommended fluid change and I asked how did he know I needed it because I don't have car records there. He said because the fluid is usually dark. I asked if mine was dark and he said no. THEN WHY IN THE HECK ARE YOU TELLING ME I NEED IT CHANGED?! Nice people at the desk, friendly, time was ok...was in for safety inspection and emissions, and passed both. Next morning the check engine light comes on....so what are the odds that the check engine light is going to come on right after the inspection?.....I called to ask if they do anything under the hood that might have been left undone. The answer is NOPE. yet I check the gas cap and it is loose. Now everyone knows that a loose gas cap will trigger the emissions system into that general code that requires a more detailed $95 diagnosis (this was told to me by the AAA associate when I called about the light). So if the technician, who is supposed to know how sensitive this system is to that cap, can leave it loose knowing that it can not only be an annoyance, but an associated expense...... then what else did he leave 'loose'. personally, good service would have included the invitation to bring it back and go back through the steps to make sure something wasn't amiss.....and run the diags for free if not for a significantly reduced fee. That trip back to the AAA service center would have been inconvenience enough without having to shell out more money. read more
