In January 2022, I gave 3 years of tax info to a preparer here in Appleton, WI who said she'd get back to me in a week or so. She didn't. In the summer of 2022, a different person called me, asking if I had info for them to do my taxes. I said I'd already given it to them and made an appt. Morning of the appt I received a call from a third person who said she was the office manager and asked if I had files to upload. I told her they already had the info. I went to my appt, found out the branch office was closed, had to call and get the address of the open office, none of which had been explained to me. I got there and was told by the office manager that they couldn't find my files. After weeks of ridiculous phone calls and excuses, I filed a complaint with BBB. They followed up with H&R Block. A month later, I checked with BBB on progress and received the corporate H&R Block response which was basically that they were closing this. I replied that I did not consider it to be closed until I got my files back. A few days later, I got a call from the new H&R district manager who said the files were gone, apologized, and asked me what they could do to help. He gave me a year of free credit/ fraud reporting. The next day or so, he called to tell me they found my files at an offsite permanent storage facility, after he asked them to return the last couple of batches of files that had been sent up. I drove over and got my files. Although I appreciate his taking the time to track them down and return them to me, I can't recommend this company to anyone. Tax preparers should be the gold standard of efficiency, security and honesty, and to me this company appeared more like lead. So if you use them, stay in close touch with them and keep backups of everything you give them.

He ensured us they covered log homes and was not a problem. After paying them 2k and dealing with all the paperwork ECT. We get a notice in the mail that we were cancelled since our home was ineligible for this homeowners policy. Time and money wasted!!!! Think they should know what policies they offer and what is covered and not!!

It seems ever since they built their new headquarters on Cty. CB outside of Appleton, they have not pursued customer excellence. Case in point: my husband and I had acquired and paid off two mortgages, two personal loans, and a car loan with them over the first 20 years, and then when asking for a new credit card they would not issue one until we had a secured card with them for over a year. Fine, we did that, but since we got the CC, the VISA department has messed up on where to send our statements twice, did not credit the amount transferred to the balance, and now TWICE they have added payment credits from prior months back onto the balance. This is ridiculous! And when I call the service line, I keep getting dropped. Three times I requested a call back, and each time they call, the call drops as soon as I pick up! Speaking with a rep today and got dropped again. Unbelievable.
