A small but perfectly formed part of the Aagrah chain of restaurants, first started in 1977, now I think there are about 13 restaurants in the chain. The address says 11 Keighley road but this is situated in a side road off Keighley Road which is more Devonshire Place than Keighley Road!
I have visited this restaurant since it first opened as I was lucky enough to have my first flat just around the corner. So I succumbed every week to a take away and frequented the restaurant regularly in larger groups or a deux.
I have never ever had a bad meal here and am loathe to tell you how good it is in case I cannot book a table!
The menu is extensive and I have yet to try everything in over 20 years as they keep adding new and exciting dishes, They also do a christmans menu.
Down a side streeet in Skipton with steps up to it, the friendly and attentive staff greet everyone as a friend and valued customer. Smartly dressed in black and white with waistcoats. Small waiting area for tables or takeaways always with newspapers, local and national.
The menu is extensive and ,as with all their chain they source local fresh produce, meat, poultry and Veg. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
We have recently tried a new Lahore Machli which is haddock with chilli and garlic in a batter and it was soooo delicious we asked for a takeway to have at home the next day!!
A small restaruant with some tables near a front window, but most at the back. Great atmosphere, incredibly clean, with starched white tablecloths and napkins, newly placed for every customer. Small bar with bottled beers etc, not inflated prices, and worth trying proper Indian beer to go with your meal. I would advise booking on a Friday or Saturday.
A few parking spaces in the street outside or a car park opposite and in the Co op car park is free. At the moment 2008 they are doing up the bus station so may be better to park on the High Street. The Coop car park etc will be open again in 2009. read more
