It is refreshing to have an actual barber than great/sports slips. The vibe is also that of what a proper barber shop should be. This place was Dominican proud. I enjoyed my time in the chair.

I wish they would work on that because I am trying to support the business. They should not offer booking options if the barber isn't going to be there. AGGRESSIVE CONFRONTATION IN NANUET BARBER SHOP…read more I hesitated to share this story because I typically don't air my grievances, but this time I felt it appropriate to post. A couple of weeks ago, I was getting my haircut in the Sal Santoro Nanuet Barber Shop, as I have for quite some time now. As it is a small shop, every conversation can be heard and after all, it is a Barber Shop. The owner, a tall thin man, is loudly discussing a recent news story when I hear "what's all this about sexual abuse? It was 30 years ago, who cares about such a thing after 30 years?" I was taken aback by his comment and asked him "if it were your wife, daughter or a loved one who was abused 30 years ago, would it matter today? At this time, this man jumps out of his seat and gets right into my face screaming that I should shut up and mind my business. He was restrained by one of the other barbers. I thought he was going to attack me while I was in the chair. The other people in the shop were stunned, and 2 barbers came over to me to apologize. Not the violent owner, but two other barbers. As the young man cutting my hair was finishing up, I said aloud that I'm going to have to find another Barber Shop at which time this aggressive owner replied, "I don't care. I don't want you, or anyone who thinks like you, in my shop!" I replied by saying that these 4 men have been cutting my hair for years now and they will lose a good customer, who has always been very generous to them." He said, "I don't care, just go now, get out of here!" I paid my bill, left a generous tip and walked out stunned.
