They take care to stock books across a wide range of genres for all types of readers and interests. The store promotes a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. On my most recent visit I scored a bargain from the sale cart and got a hardcover on my TBR list for 20% off. They also have a nice selection of gift items and stationary. A great place to spend an afternoon browsing through all the rooms.

It has limited hours, because it's run entirely by friendly volunteers, but it's worth arranging a visit. It has a great selection of used books in excellent condition for very reasonable prices, including a lot of recent popular books. I picked up a recent paperback bestseller for $3 and a hardcover for $7, and my best score was a signed paperback copy of Sarah McBride's memoir for only $4. If you love shopping for used books like I do, this is a must visit.

When I asked, the lady running the station told me that all the items for sale were previously in circulation or held by the library in some capacity. I purchased a few DVDs and a first edition book that were very fairly priced, and looked to be brand new. There were no markings on either to indicate they were ever circulated, so I'm wondering if some items in the shop were also donated at one point or another. While I imagine the collection doesn't change over too often, I'll try and re-visit every month or so to see what else they've added. It's worth stopping in while you're visiting the library!

Meaning you receive a wristband that allows you to help yourself to a variety of local beers and wine. Each is charged by the ounce and is charged to your tab at the end of your visit. An added bonus is two of the wines that were available were made in-house; the Concord Jungle and Mizz Education. We enjoyed the Mizz Education which is a sweet and refreshing Moscato so much we ended up taking two bottles home with us. Let me just say this, I've been to my fair share of restaurants for brunch and the food at Concrete Rose hands down is the top 5 best food I've ever had. We tried a variety of options which include the Salmon Avocado Toast, Soul of the Sea and Chicken wings with concord bbq sauce. All were seasoned, cooked and plated to perfection. Whew Lord just thinking about those crab cakes with herbed garlic butter and remoulade sauce has me thinking about taking a road trip to get some more. Ambiance, food and service are all top tier at A Concrete Rose. Do yourself a favor and check them out. There's so much there for you to see and try! Street parking is available, and it is an easy walk even from around the corner. One of the noticeable things is the new location's building is in much better condition. There are almost certainly less books for sale now, but it's also less crowded, and everything is much more organized. Books are located on both levels of the shop, and they have one of the larger used selections you'll find at an independent shop. Other media for sale also include various movies and comic books. If you like independent used bookshops, this is worth a stop.
