They take care to stock books across a wide range of genres for all types of readers and interests. The store promotes a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. On my most recent visit I scored a bargain from the sale cart and got a hardcover on my TBR list for 20% off. They also have a nice selection of gift items and stationary. A great place to spend an afternoon browsing through all the rooms.

For those who are reading this and are from the DMV area think of Busboy & Poets but with a little twist. So what's the twist you ask? They offer beer and wine through a self-serve tap system. Meaning you receive a wristband that allows you to help yourself to a variety of local beers and wine. Each is charged by the ounce and is charged to your tab at the end of your visit. An added bonus is two of the wines that were available were made in-house; the Concord Jungle and Mizz Education. We enjoyed the Mizz Education which is a sweet and refreshing Moscato so much we ended up taking two bottles home with us. Let me just say this, I've been to my fair share of restaurants for brunch and the food at Concrete Rose hands down is the top 5 best food I've ever had. We tried a variety of options which include the Salmon Avocado Toast, Soul of the Sea and Chicken wings with concord bbq sauce. All were seasoned, cooked and plated to perfection. Whew Lord just thinking about those crab cakes with herbed garlic butter and remoulade sauce has me thinking about taking a road trip to get some more. Ambiance, food and service are all top tier at A Concrete Rose. Do yourself a favor and check them out. There's so much there for you to see and try! If you've ever wanted socks, mugs, pens, puzzles, stickers, or stuffies that loudly announce I READ, this is your spot. They do tend to run pricey, but I think that's typical of all mall stores, and I'd rather buy from a local shop than Amazon if I can help it. Theres a BAM membership you can sign up for that helps, and they do occasionally have nice sales, so just be on the look out for those if you're looking to save a few bucks.

The sales associate then asked if I wanted a bag. Of course I wasn't going to juggle all the merchandise throughout the rest of the mall without a bag so I said, "Yes, please." She then told me that would be $1.99. I was absolutely dumbfounded and taken aback, half tempted to just walk out and not purchase anything, but remembered they were for gifts and I didn't have time to ship them. Next time I will certainly preplan and avoid this store. I'd rather purchase and pay for shipping than for the gas to travel here, the inconvenience of standing in line, having to lug purchases throughout the mall and back home... and be charged $2 for a bag to carry my purchases. This is just in poor form to scam customers into purchasing a bag after you ring up a large order! It's just not worth the hassle. I asked for a free plastic bag and was informed they will no longer provide them. The store is well stocked and organized, but all the items can be obtained elsewhere for less of a cost and more convenience to ship to your front door or remember to take your own bag if you plan on shopping here. Highly disappointing and I'll no longer be shopping or supporting this store.

The people working there are up to date on their games familiarity, as I've had employees comment on the games we'll bring in and start playing.
