We've dealt with this business for years and have been very happy. In 2025 we lost our home to a…read morefire and needed A LOT of new appliances. We randomly stopped in a Pittsburgh store and saw a kitchen set we loved. We stopped in and sure enough we could get them through our local appliance store. $13k of new appliances ordered and stored until we needed them, GREAT! Appliances were installed in Nov 2025 and shortly after that, the 'hometown' friendly appliance store was sold and new owners took over. All the things that make you go to a local business (friendly, willing to take time to answer simple questions you could Google, tips, suggestions for better choices knowing your situation, and willing to take trades of your goofs when you don't take their advice etc.) were gone. Less than 6 months after our new stove was installed there was a problem, trouble shooting suggestions in the owners manual don't work. Try to call ... no answer...stop in and are told service tech only works 2 days a week (and this wasn't one of them) and 'he's very busy with other people ahead of you' ... more ignored calls when 'our turn finally came on the calendar and no one showed up' ... finally someone showed up, need to order a new computer it'll be a few days, maybe a week... 2 weeks go by, three or four calls (unanswered) over that time... wk 3 another effort to call, but off work so stopped in ... person at counter ignored the buzzer on the door, too preoccupied with cell phone video...finally got her attention and obvious disdain for being interrupted was plainly evident... a half hearted effort to find our work order and tried to dismiss me...nope, not today, dig a little deeper...'oh there it is, yeah, part is ordered but we never know how long it will take, we're at the mercy of the mail...right back to her video chat w/ a friend I'm dismissed, phone ringing is ignored, and odd laughter as I'm leaving (directed at me or the person in the video chat? WTHKs)...frustrated thinking how prior team provided real service and a temporary solution would have been offered until the part came - THAT'S why we deal locally - this time we wish we would have gone to Pittsburgh, at least then we could blame the distance on the lack of service. SO DISAPPOINTED!! How could such a great business be flipped into such a disaster in such a short time? We own several rentals, and our family dealt with them too. We have been working with them for years and been very happy, til now when we most need good community service. AVOID!

He charges me a reasonable flat fee, regardless of what he's working on and always uses his own resources to get the cheapest parts. I couldn't ask for a nicer more dependable repairman. FIVE STAR without a doubt!

Recently my basement was flooded with at least 12" of water. My washer and dryer just happened to be in the basement. I contacted the first repair person recommended to me. The unnamed (for now) repair service persons (2) spent no more than 10 minutes in my basement. I was charged approximately $85 including tax and given an invoice that states "multiple components need replaced". They insinuated my appliances were inoperable. JRF Appliance Parts & Repair was the second repair services that came out. I needed a second opinion. The repair person actually examined and cleaned the innards of my washer and dryer. He told me the dryer was good to go. The washer's motor "might" give out someday and need replaced but it works, too. He wrote out detailed invoices for each appliance with information about the parts affected and how much each would cost just in case I wanted to replace anything. He charged $270 to come out and do what he did today. Both repair services gave me an estimate of $600 on parts for each appliance. Thanks to the honesty and professionalism of JRF Appliance, I have my washer and dryer back AND i haven't been taken to the cleaner's.
