I was under the impression that the police department or court would send us physical mail notifying us of our court date to give us a chance to fight the tickets, but I was wrong. We missed both court dates and received warrants for her arrest - which freaked me out and prompted me to search for "traffic ticket warrants el paso" where Attorney Robert Navar's website was one of the top results. I am quite busy and wasn't in an environment in which I could make a quick phone call, so I used the contact form on the website to get in touch with them and someone from their team got back to me within an hour and answered all of my questions. As soon as I had some free time, I called in and discussed our options with them. We simply gave them the ticket numbers and warrants over the phone, they looked up my fiancé's case, we paid them a VERY reasonable fee and were told that they'd get in touch with us as soon as something happens (all over the phone and over email). After about a month or so they got in touch with us to let us know what was going on through both phone call and email. I responded to them by email and was able to handle everything online without needing to speak to them over the phone. The only thing we had to do was go to the El Paso Municipal Court and pay a $10 fee and all charges were dropped and will eventually be expunged from my fiancé's record, to my understanding. The team at this firm was incredible and very friendly. They handled 99% of everything and kept us in the loop the entire time. I really appreciate the challenging work they did. Even if we received an unfavorable result from the judge/court, I would have given them 5 stars for their willingness to communicate with me via email and the ease of everything. They got my personal information, my payment, and never called back to get my side of the story. Nobody in their office made an effort to contact me and ask me about the case. I then received an email saying there was a final disposition and basically I was at fault! So basically they are charged me the original fee (~$50), I still have to pay court fees ($144), PLUS pay for a defensive driving class (~$40)! This is malpractice in El Paso at its best! Such as him stating that I am a minor...I am 23 years old. 3- 3 of my bills ended up going to collections even though he reassured me that in his various years of profession this had never happened. He failed to update/ inform the medical providers of his representation and provide them with the lien letter despite my constant reminders and concern for the bills. 4- I always had to be the one to reach out because he would never update me. 5- When the time to settle came around he only wanted to give me 8k despite my case being worth 45k. 6- Carlos Tristan even ended up sending a check to a doctor I didn't even visit even after I had mentioned this to him prior to him sending the checks. 7- Currently it has been over a month since I settled, and he supposedly paid all my medical bills yet I am still getting billed by one provider. Upon calling this provider they mentioned that no letters (HIPPA or lien) have been sent to them from the attorney and much less the check 8- This law firm does not handle these time sensitive cases well. 9- They contradict themselves in a lot of things. Such as when the Attorney, Carlos Tristan, told me that he could not negotiate the medical bills yet that same day I called the provider and they said that the law firm had already sent in an offer and that it had been approved.
