I got to go in to get them and make sure we grabbed all their stuff when we picked-up too. I know its simple, but its a much better ease of transition than the typical "dogs on a leash, stuff in a bag" hand off at the desk...with the dogs disappearing behind and emerging from a closed door and no real knowledge of whether or not they ever got their stuff. We also did not pay for a bath but my normal kinda-smelly dogs actually smell more like a dog spa than deer poop today - they are heelers though, so should only be a matter of hours before they find something new to roll in They got to stay in a double-wide kennel with a doggie door to another, outdoor, double-wide kennel and a gate to access one of the larger play areas There were other double-wide kennels along with the single kennels, all with access to an outside kennel with fenced ceilings - one of ours is an escape artist who can climb ladders and fences so this was important. There are a few cabins as well with attached runs and a fenced play areas that would be great for more chill dogs who don't jump fences! The only issue we encountered was with the gate at the entrance. There is every indication that the gate is electric and will open automatically but it is not. They really either need to fix the gate or change the signage, but we figured it out and got it open perfectly fine.

I had also been having a hard time reaching the anyone in the office lately, which is not as big of a deal but still frustrating. The last straw was a few weeks ago I scheduled and a drop off time outside of business hours. I confirmed this with an employee over the phone and I made it clear I would pay they additional charges to do so. When I showed up no one was there and all buildings were locked. Totally wrecked my plans. Since Laura Lynn sold this place it has really started to go down hill in terms of quality service.

The staff plays with the dogs too. One of my dogs isn't always great with other dogs, but she's never had any problems there. The pups are happy when they arrive - tails go wagging! My only negative is there isn't a big outdoor area for them to run around, but our dogs are elderly so this isn't much of an issue for us.

First of all, the bottle of shampoo we were given was so watered down, it barely created any soap suds, so I feel like my dog wasn't getting very clean. Also, the towels we were given were so thin, they were barely drying my dog. So, I had asked the girl at the desk for another towel and she practically rolled her eyes at me before giving me another one. Well, apparently the issue is she got ahold of some gloves and swallowed it even though we directed them she can't be around soft stuff. She already had GI surgery before, and some close calls so I'm surprised this glove made her act worse than a towel did when the vet said she had less than 24 hours left if she didn't get the surgery. Anyways. They claimed at first they had no gloves whatsoever on property (not even personal?) And then changed it to she wasn't around anywhere they keep gloves. Now, I get that mistakes happen, and I can't tell you the number of times I've stuck gloves in my own pockets or apron from work that should've been thrown away, but they decided to gaslight and blame it from when she got home. But I live in an HOA so she's always on leash, by my side, only to go potty (the parents next door hate that she's a rottie and try to make her sick). Plus we don't have this type of stuff and no one comes near our porch. All we were looking for at least was an apology for their negligence and for them to not end up risking another furbabys life!

When we arrived to pick up our pups , I followed the owner to the kennels to get the pups. When she opened the door to let them out, there was an overwhelming smell of urine. Both of my dogs came out reeking of urine. Then she carried out the bed that I had brought for them. It was saturated with urine. ( it was so bad that we had to throw it away) My girls are well trained and would NEVER pee on their bed unless they could not hold it. This tells me that they had not been let out of their kennel. I am posting this so that other dog owners avoid the possibility of the same situation. Please think twice before sending your beloved pups to this kennel.

I later find out there was no consistent waiting list cause I wasn't on one when I talked to the owner! So just seems like communication is disorganized. However we did get our precious boy that we are deeply in love with! Becky was really kind when we met her and let us tour the facility as well as meet his parents! We missed the open hours by maybe 15-30 mins and she came out just for us to meet him! His name is Misha which is a nickname in russian for bear! Cause he is our big teddy bear! We love him so much and would still look at DDR for another cutie!

Libby is very easy going and has no special needs so I just wanted to find a decent, not too expensive place. I visited DDR and picked up paperwork. I love how all dogs get their own pens where they can choose to be inside or outside at any time. The place is super clean and everyone who works there was friendly. It is out there east past Dragonmans - but for the cost it is worth the drive. My pup was there for 8 days and she barely wanted to come home. Apparently she found a boyfriend while she was there. This is one of those places that I really don't want to share with others so it is available when I need it, but I guess I can share DDR with the rest of the world. They give a military discount, a cash discount and the nightly rate goes down the longer the stay.
