They break out in stations and are closely watched and trained. They follow the usual belt system along with the tips earned based on level of achievement. Students have to EARN their First belt!!! They don't start class and automatically have a belt which I was impressed with. The environment is clean and very well kept!! Love the feel of this school very warm and they still instill respect and a great form of the art! I briefly had my son enrolled in another school and found it to be rough cold attitude and I was not comfortable....my son was fine when we left that first place. He actually spotted this one and said I want to go there!! He has been all smiles ever since!!

We have people like myself, a 49 year physician who wanted to regain strength, flexibility and endurance to children and adolescents who compete and win tournaments. My personal experience has been life changing and I am very thankful for Epic.

I started here when I was 13. Took a few years off here and there but always find my way back…read more This is a sparring school with advanced fighters. Everyone will work with you. As students improve, so does the school. This school has a culture to make everyone better. I couldn't ask for a better place to train.

My interest in martial arts originated in setting out to motivate my children. My first encounter…read morein the dojo was quite an experience and only fueled my motivation to train like a warrior. As a working Mother it is difficult to carve out time for yourself. Over the past ten years, since the birth of my child, I have been told "Make Time for Yourself". I had tried...but was never very successful at achieving that goal. Everything and everyone became more of a priority. I guess on some level when I walked into the dojo to try and motivate my children it started out being about them. But something amazing happened, it became about Me! The Martial Arts Institute has inspired me to take care of myself. Since I started my training at The Martial Arts Institute I am so much more focused and driven. Many of the physical benefits of training at The Martial Arts Institute involve a period of warming up, stretching, and training. The benefit I get from training has improved my balance, flexibility, stamina, and posture. I look forward to walking into the dojo. I am inspired by the instructors and I have made good relationships with quality people. I am amazed at the support you get from your fellow warriors. Training is tough, possibly the hardest physical activity I have gone up against. But I don't approach it as a workout. I look at my training as a journey to develop inner strength and self discipline, as well as having sound techniques. When I learn something new, whether it's to refine my techniques or a move to defend myself, I can't wait to share it with my family. I have brought my training into my home. Before training, I was extremely naive on the possibilities of what I could be approached with. I am much more aware of my surroundings and environment. I am determined to train hard to assist me in protecting myself and others if a situation should arise. The Martial Arts Institute is a school that provides special attention to each student and each belt level. The personality, philosophy and energy of the Sensei reaches each one of us taking the class. The positive thinking in the dojo is contagious and you end up taking it with you through the day. Each warrior is determined to inspire and assist each other. The Martial Arts Institute is like a family. You want each other to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. I am proud to be a part of this family.
