Horrible experience. Maybe ok at the simplest tax filings, but no good at anything complicated. Leading up to tax day I called many times asking to chat with the preparer about the complexities of my filing, but was told they were "experts" and didn't need my input. When I explained that my situation was unique and complicated, they got rude and told me to let them do their job. A few days out from filing they sent me my prepared returns. Misunderstanding CT law, they concluded I owed tens of thousands of dollars more than I actually did. I explained they were wrong and they told me I still had to pay them their fee. It took me getting an emergency opinion from the CT Department of Revenue for them to correct their errors--a process they did not help with. Even still, they charged me full price. Later, they made additional errors on instructions for another filing, and denied any mistake. Throughout the process they were rude and even hostile at times. read more

I recently received terrible customer service from this outfit's office manager Ms. Green so I gave an honest review on Google and copied the principal owner and founder. I did this as service to Arendholz & Bryan so that he would be aware of the type of service I received and provide coaching to his office manager. Instead of following up with me to try to understand the problem within his team, he elected to ignore my direct email and instead recruited people to post positive reviews to counter my negative review. This should be a red flag to anyone considering this office for their accounting services. The following is my review from Google. You will notice there were only two other reviews when I posted mine and then a litany of positive reviews within a week. Hmm. Suspicious at best... Having closed on my 5th new home this past October, I called Arendhlz, Bryan & Associates with the question as to whether it would be worth my while to go with a CPA this year to file my taxes. I was put on the phone with a woman whom stated she was the office manager. When I posed my question as to whether or not I need to hire a CPA to file this year's taxes, she rudely stated that she's much too busy to help me with questions on filing my taxes with Turbo Tax. " I immediately replied back that this was not the purpose of my call and I just needed to know if it was wise for me to hire a CPA this year since I didn't know if any of my closing costs would come into play. I don't usually post reviews on Yelp but when I saw the negative review from Gary G., I felt I had to chime in. I am a relatively new client at this firm; I believe I first visited them in July of 2017. Susan and Michael Green have been consistently fantastic. Susan is warm and friendly and always helpful to me on the phone and in person. Michael has been extremely knowledgeable in assisting me with a complex estate situation, and without him I'd be lost! They are all about educating the client and helping the client to understand complex financial situations and plan for the future. I would recommend them to anyone including my family and dearest friends. Do yourself a favor and hire them. read more
