I don't remember the kid saying this (he probably didn't), but if you don't spend that extra money, you can't return it. So even though we bought our own reputable mattress protector for a fraction of the price online, they simply won't accept it. It's a really lousy way to do business. My back is destroyed. But, selection on the floor is very limited, as they offer catalogs to browse through (which is a tough way to buy expensive furniture). Prices varied with some antiques being higher priced but still very reasonable. The quality and prices were considerably better than even the local ARC thrift store. You could go to Walmart as one reviewer mentioned but you will wind up with poorly made composite wood "furniture" that will cost you the same or more and won't last as long. The one downside I noticed was that they do not deliver. But that was a minor issue for us. We'll definitely be checking here first anytime we are looking for furniture in the future. It's worth mentioning that they are willing to haggle a bit on the price, especially if you are paying cash.
