We closed on our Hudson 55 model Bridgewater home built in the Sonders neighborhood in November of 2025. It has been 3 months post closing when I am writing this review. To start with we have had a great experience with Bridgewater and all the staff (Holly, Nate & Kyle). We feel we are lucky to have had Bridgewater as the builder. We have previously owned 3 different homes in 3 different cities over 30+ years, but this was our first new home build. Many of our friends told us how much of a headache building a new home would be and how painful the process would be; it wasn't a headache and it wasn't painful mainly due to Bridgewater. It did take some significant effort to understand and research all the options and focus on the decisions to be made, but that level of work was expected. We chose a lot of options, +2 ft to the back of the house, +4 ft to the front of the garage, +2 ft to the side of garage, finished our basement, and too many others to name. We were able to add some Tharp custom cabinets in our laundry room that turned out awesome. My suggestion is to ask others what options they chose and really like, what options they didn't choose and wish they had chosen. Read through the long options list many times, understand it, think about the things you can change later if needed vs. the ones that are more permanent. The work and decisions that need to be made in building a home are not easy but can be rewarding. I truly have a house I love, reach out if you a have question I can answer. Also I've read all the reviews and nothing is perfect, understood. It seems the years around the covid pandemic must have been a challenging time to build a house or have a house built. I wish that I didn't have to write this review, but I feel that anyone that is considering Bridgewater for their next home should hear about our experience. This company builds a great home, we are in no way dissatisfied with the quality. Their customer service is where they dropped the ball with us. We signed the contract to build this home in late April of 2021 with a completion date of November 17th, 2021. We knew that this date would likely be pushed back a bit due to supply chain issues and labor shortages, but we didn't end up closing until April 29th, 2022. During this time, we were misled, ignored or flat out lied to by the representative we were working with. Her name is Cynthia Murphy and I highly suggest avoiding her as your salesperson. After quite a few months of this, we started working with Holly Braning and she is the one person that actually treated us with respect and did an amazing job. My dissatisfaction extends all the way up to the owner of Bridgewater. When I spoke with her about our experience and tried to hold them financially accountable for an option that we were told was included but wasn't, she told me that we were lucky that they were even honoring their contract with us! There is a certain way that I conduct myself in business dealings, and I don't care what the situation is, I would never say that to a client. We closed over a month ago on this home, and we still don't have the front yard landscaping installed (which is provided by Bridgewater). There are two incomplete homes on our street that have their landscaping installed, but ours is still missing. During the punch-list walk 1 week before closing, there was a long list of touchups that needed to be done, and nothing has been completed or even scheduled. The lot was never cleaned and there are nails and construction trash all over the front and back yards. We have blue and green tape all over the house and every time I see it, I wonder why they have decided that we don't deserve to be treated as well as all of the people who have left great reviews on this same site. We had such high hopes for this project because Bridgewater has an amazing reputation. Because of the way we were treated not only will we never build with them again, but I will make it a point to tell everyone I know to never use them either. read more

The floor plan and design of our home is wonderful. That aspect of this company is 5 stars. We had build issues before we moved in. A bathroom window in our home was not installed for weeks after drywall was hung and tile was installed inside - supply chain issues. We repeatedly requested that they at least cover up the opening, which only happened after we filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The tile in all 3 of our bathrooms was not installed to industry standards. The big problems were: uneven floors, jagged cut edges, defective tile, and lippage in the shower enclosures so severe that the tiles would cast shadows on the tiles below them. The contractor that Bridgewater Homes used for our tile work was Images Flooring. I spent an entire year of pushing back each time Images refused to correct their shoddy work. I took photos of each piece of tile and actually had our tile sent back to the factory for analysis to refute the claims made by Images - who blamed their substandard work on the inherent warpage in the tile. Daltile disagreed with Images' assessment. I had reputable tile contractors in our area come in to assess the work and to provide me with quotes for bringing the tile work up to industry standards. All agreed the job was a complete redo. I contacted the Bridgewater Homes attorney to request mediation. Finally, Bridgewater Homes and Images agreed to replace all the tile in our 3 bathrooms. The tile work is better. That's all I can say. The Images crews that removed the tile did irreparable damage to my vanities, pulled a towel bar off the wall (which I had to repair) and gouged and scratched my baseboards and trim. My beautiful new home has been scarred. This whole situation is unfortunate. It's unfortunate that Images chose to ignore the inadequacies in the original tile job and did not tear everything out and start over at this point. It's unfortunate that Bridgewater Homes accepted the substandard tile work in our home and had us move in. It's unfortunate that the effort to correct the tile did not start when we pointed out all of the deficiencies and shoddy work during our one month walkthrough. Instead, the response was that I had unreasonable expectations for the quality of work done in a semi-custom home, and that it wasn't that bad. It's unfortunate that Bridgewater Homes and Images Flooring would not acknowledge the substandard tile job and work to rectify it before I had to go through an entire year of multiple visits to my home and many, many hours of work on my part to get this deficiency corrected. Most importantly, it's unfortunate that Bridgewater Homes is allowing Images to tarnish their reputation in the semi-custom home market. I have spoken to numerous neighbors who also are dealing with flooring issues in their homes. While I do enjoy most aspects of my Bridgewater home, I will never buy another one if they continue to contract with Images Flooring for any part of the build. read more
