Hi Everyone!…read more Sidmouth beach well were to I start? the beach is pebbled though when the tide goes out there's lots of sand! For Tide Times: http://www.sidmouthherald.co.uk/sidmouthherald/flatfiles/tides/tides.aspx There are no longer lifegaurds on the beach, but the sea never has large waves in the summer, so not for surfers I'm afraid. The lifeboat is always there ready for any emergencies. There are some great rock pools when the tide goes out, head towards Jacobs Ladder. the beach doesn't have an EU Blue Flag (2009) because of the Napile which meant that this year some oil spills were found on the beach. this is no longer a problem, I see the beach every weekend and I haven't found a oil spill so don't worry. Top tips 1 - don't swim between the two rocky sea defences in the sea, people get in to trouble (however good you are at swimming) 2- good at low tide and take a bet for rock pooling, you'll be amazed what you can find! 3 - generally head away from the town for more sand! 4 - take some sun tan lotion, a BBQ and some drinks for the ultimate day at the beach

Tor's at every view, village hamlets to find and explore, picnics to have, beautiful wild ponies, sheep and cattle to watch as they chomp through the rugged terrain. Good to visit when rainy or windy, it's never void of someone out grabbing life by the full. Our picnic was interrupted when a beautiful stallion started chasing rivals around us, we just watched and moved out the way as they ran around us!! In the photo he has just leaped off the bridge in front of us!! It was an exciting picnic that's for sure... if you do visit make sure to take all your litter and litter you see to a bin or home, we come to revel in these beautiful places let's all be good citizens and keep it beautiful. What sets this course apart is it's location. Fantastic views over Lyme Bay and the Cobb and harbour. It is part of a recently updated park and gardens which is beatifully set out and on a Summer's day or evening is just gorgeous. There are also a couple of outdoor table tennis tables. Both are run by the local council and are very reasonably priced. It is right next to TV Chef Hix's fish restaurant which enjoys the same amazing vista.

We've watched the tv programme where the owners rescue monkeys and apes from accross the world and bring them back to live in sanctuary. Which is most definately a very worth while cause. Any profits made at the centre are used to help the animals that live here and that they save. So after seeing the wonderful work they do and having a camping holiday in that neck of the woods, we couldn't resist a trip. Im glad I have a digital camera as its a photographers dream to capture all these beautiful animals. I'd definately go back. My family and I had a fantastic day and its a day out not to be missed.

Almost all of the animals seem to have a whole new lease of life, or at least a settled existance for the older ones. The staff are helpful and friendly, and really motivating when you're starting out in the gym! They're always willing to answer your queries or demonstrate moves etc. The classes are excellent too, and I found it is worth joining as a member as you do save money each month as long as you go to a minimum of 2 classes a week. The only downfall is the decor but that doesn't really matter when all you're going there for is exercise!

Children are encouraged to join in the animal handling sessions taking place at various times during weekends and summer holidays. The new play area is very popular and a new sand pit will be built very soon. New attractions have arrived at Kingston Maurward including emus, owls and peacocks. More new animals will be arriving soon. There is a large picnic area and refreshment kiosk selling drinks and snacks during busy periods. The Visitor Centre provides information on the Gardens, Animals and the Wildlife that you can look out for in the grounds. The shop sells a wide selection of small gifts and plants. The only downside is the MUD in winter and possibly the price - £5 a head for adults seems a bit steep for a single visit, but the year's season ticket is good value for locals.
