Nice set-up all around. Everyone was chill, no riff-raff here. They have: - Spring-fed cedar lake. It is very clean, they test the water weekly. - Sandy beach (well groomed) - Lifeguards on duty - Beach volleyball court, horseshoe pits and basketball. - They have free canoes and kayaks (life vests included) - Picnic areas - Hiking trail (around a mile or so) - Gas grills - Adirondack style chairs and beach umbrellas - Many shady spots provided by the trees - Bathroom facility - Birthday parties are okay as long as the group doesn't exceed 20, 25 max. "Minors under the age of 16 may not be dropped off and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. CampFAC is not a daycare facility and will not be held responsible for the well-being of its guests. The use of ALCOHOL and TOBACCO is strictly prohibited. Foul language and lewd or reckless behavior will not be tolerated". They don't have a snack bar so feel free to pack a cooler and bring some grub. If you want, bring beach chairs, umbrellas and sand toys with you. Pastors…read moreand all the crew are nice and do a great job at helping bring a holiness to the worship, they also have a free coffee bar with bartenders that Starbucks has nothing on, they are also very genuine and loving I even shared a concern with them about a bowl of kids crackers that are left by the coffee bar for the children as my child is grain-intolerant and I usually have hard time keeping him away from that (parents of toddlers with food allergies know the struggle is real!) and I suggested they replace it with something healthier like bananas and within few minutes the crackers were gone! I can't explain how appreciated that made me feel and how much I was grateful for my church family for looking after my children, this is not only a church but a home.

It is however a strong, loving congregation. Members are quick to notice visitors and introduce themselves to try and make them feel more at home, and simply get to know them more. Pastor Joe has been there for, I think, 13 years or so now. This church places a big emphasis on Discipleship, which I think is great because I could always grow in my knowledge and application of how to better spread God's Word. I've been attending Lakes my whole life as my parents have been going there since they were kids, and my fathers parents were charter members. Lakes youth ministry meets on Sunday's at 6, and will often times incorporate outreach ministries like going to Faces of Change in Camden, NJ, to help hand out food, drink, and clothes to homeless or less fortunate. Along with our few discipleship groups, a young couple started Shine Ministries which is an outreach program to give back as they often times will hand out food in Camden, spend time with children at the Ronald McDonald House, technologically educate men and women in retirement homes, and many others great ways to give back and show Christ's love. I've had nothing but great experiences at Lakes. If you're looking for a church where you can go and slip through the cracks, this may not be for you. The guest speaker was very energetic, fun, and made sense of the word that was being taught. I went on the first annual all "white out" ladies night and I enjoyed it so much. A beautiful church for another (a beloved spouse of the person held in memorial at the last service…read moreI was at in 2007) viewing . . . the unseasonably sunny weather catapulted the somber morning. The church is modest, yet so beautiful, both at the same time. The priest was incredible, personable, and even put some levity into the memorial. I appreciated his microphone head set. The singers acquired were angelic and professional . . . they made the service even more special than it already was. I really enjoyed the décor and open and airiness of the church overall. I kept looking up at Jesus on the cross when the songs were breaking my heart and had me in literal tears. My absolutely ONLY, ONLY, ONLY negative, was that there was no public water (or even bottled) available. I was parched. An employee told me that there were paper cups in the bathroom. I'm fine with drinking tap water, but I really found it odd to not have water on hand for guests. People get anxious and overcome at viewings/funerals - I would think that water is a NECESSITY! I hope to go to this beauty for a happy occasion sometime. . .

The ambiance is lovely with the huge stained windows, especially when there is sunlight streaming in through the colored glass. There is something oddly comforting about the old wooden pews that creak softly as people rise and sit throughout Mass. The priest spoke eloquently during the liturgy, and there are little touches to encourage smiles that made even newbies like me feel welcome (such as shaking hands and welcoming each other). Finally, music was incredibly well done. The singer was wonderful and her piano accompanist was truly gifted. A nice touch to a lovely service.
