It is however a strong, loving congregation. Members are quick to notice visitors and introduce themselves to try and make them feel more at home, and simply get to know them more. Pastor Joe has been there for, I think, 13 years or so now. This church places a big emphasis on Discipleship, which I think is great because I could always grow in my knowledge and application of how to better spread God's Word. I've been attending Lakes my whole life as my parents have been going there since they were kids, and my fathers parents were charter members. Lakes youth ministry meets on Sunday's at 6, and will often times incorporate outreach ministries like going to Faces of Change in Camden, NJ, to help hand out food, drink, and clothes to homeless or less fortunate. Along with our few discipleship groups, a young couple started Shine Ministries which is an outreach program to give back as they often times will hand out food in Camden, spend time with children at the Ronald McDonald House, technologically educate men and women in retirement homes, and many others great ways to give back and show Christ's love. I've had nothing but great experiences at Lakes. If you're looking for a church where you can go and slip through the cracks, this may not be for you. We went to the church's "Living Nativity" on Sun., Dec. 17, 2017, per a reccommendation from my co-worker. Plus the event was on my Facebook scroll. The event was very well organized by such nice people (parishioners). They all kept things moving, without being bossy. You basically check in (the event is free!) and then get a ticket w letter(s) on them. You then go into the sanctuary, watch an overview of the program and the opening 'Adam and Eve' act in a sweet short play scene with great backdrops. The young actors were no kidding, really GOOD! After that, you wait for your ticket letters to be shown on the movie screen then proceed to the lobby for further instruction. In the lobby, is a volunteer holding up your ticket letter(s). Listen up! Since the event brings sooo many people (I heard one parishioner say that they had 2,300 people the night prior!!!!), it takes a while to go to each station (95% of them are outside). But each station is only about 5 minutes max. Plan to dress warmly and spend about 1 1/2 hours total. Free hot chocolate and cookies when you are finished. Such a wonderful and sweet event (yes, I teared up a few times) to further get you into the miracle of Christ plus magic and beauty of the holiday season!

He really tries to make sure that he explains and expounds on the word of God and the topics being covered. Showing up in jeans won't make you feel funny or out of place unless it's a holiday--as most teens, young adults and young families tend to wear either khakis or jeans. The kids programs are very interactive and caring. The youth group is growing and has a wonderful team of leaders led by Pastor Andy Lynn. The church recently built Marlton Field House, which houses the youth group, some offices, and sports facilities. The Field House hosts various events throughout the year including a Fall Fest with games and activities for kids of all ages, and also various sporting events and activities. If you are looking for a local Bible believing church, Marlton is a great place to visit and get connected.
