Steph, especially, took her time, never seemed to rush, and explained everything she was doing as she did it. Doc Nordstrom is what a patient wants in someone working in our mouths. He was friendly, seemed genuinely interested in ME, and never made me feel like I was in an assembly line like many other medicos. I hope you understand that I hope I never see you again but you folks are where I will go if I need what you do. Thanks to all of you.

Oral surgery is never on anyone's list of things they look forward to. I unfortunately needed it…read moreand was sent over today by my dentist's office because they were concerned they would be unable to successfully complete a complicated extraction. Dr. Nordstrom and his staff were very nice. The office is beautiful. My experience here was similar to experiences that I have had at other oral surgeons. They expected some payment upfront, gave me an estimate- all standard stuff. It wasnt cheap, but in my experience oral surgery never is. The surgery went as expected, I was reasonably comfortable, but not without some discomfort, but I chose to be awake because sedation would have been much more expensive, so again, this was to be expected. When the doctor sensed I had reached my pain threshold he paused and added additional pain medication which in appreciated. In the past I've had some doctors not do that. The reason for 4 stars and not 5? 2 reasons. One the main gal in the lobby was somewhat off-putting. She talked a mile a minute and it was very hard to follow her directions. 2nd, they didnt ask me or offer any kind of payment plan, so I dont know if that was any option. My bill was enormous. If i hadn't had an FSA, I would have been screwed.

I was referred to Anchorage Oral and Implant Surgery by my regular Dentist, to have 4 broken molars…read moreremoved under IV sedation, as I'm very scared of going to the dentist. I had a successfully avoided the dentist surgery for 32 years, until pain from these broken teeth took me into the Dentist office. My regular dentist thought it better to have me sedated, and sent me to Dr Sashi to get the work done. I admit to being quite terrified - even just getting in one of those tilt-back chairs has me a nervous wreck. Tristan was my dental technician, and she was very warm, kind, understanding and welcoming. She took some kind of X-ray, where i had to sit, and put my chin in a tray, and it took no time. Dr. Sashi examined my mouth, and he explained everything. I said "Are you good?" (Trying to inject humour into the situation, to ease my nerves) and he said "I'm very good" i said i like that confidence! I knew he was good from all the reviews I'd seen about him. I was taken through to my treatment room, and given a blanket. I had a blood pressure cuff attached, sensors on my chest and stomach, a finger device, an oxygen tube into my nostrils, and the IV was started. This took, what seemed like seconds to get all this done. The injection to start the IV was quite literally painless, i barely even felt it. However, i didn't immediately fall asleep, so i started getting nervous like "Hey, I'm awake over here" But the next thing i know, I'm awake, with a big ice bandage round my head, and gauzes sticking out of my mouth. Quite dizzy, and not able to walk well yet. My friend who had driven me to the appointment, and waited while the surgery was completed was in the room waiting to escort me. I was mumbling, probably nonsense, and hugging all the staff in sight *facepalm* but i was quite loopy from the anaesthesia, so i can be forgiven for this. I was given an aftercare package, that is very thorough, and has do's and don'ts, and what you should be doing on each day following surgery. I haven't experienced a huge amount of pain either and i had turned down strong painkillers, but was told to call back for a prescription if i felt i needed it. Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen has managed my pain levels thus far. I am very happy with my extractions, and the stellar treatment i received at this Dental Surgery, and Dr. Sashi is indeed "Very good!" I do recommend this place.

I've used some of the medication to reduce swelling, but never any of the serious pain meds. Just didn't need them.

Dr. Encubus did three fillings and sealed my two-year-old son's teeth they gave me an estimate…read morethat I had to pay $50 of a 1000$ bill because I'm double covered . The procedure went well received a bill for $200 . The billing department wouldn't work with me at all, matter of fact she threw away 15 years the future service over $200 she claimed that the $200 was for sedation and management for a 30 minute visit that I never received a phone call back from them to see if my son was even OK after the visit BTW this was his first time being sedated . I don't understand what management means. But I'm sure a phone call to see if he's OK is involved . Basically their billing department is NOT willing to work with you whatsoever on anything and I do not recommend going there there are many of other pediatric dentist in anchorage that will work with your billing that doesn't want to lose your services for 15 years . In addition to the woman on the phone was rude inconsiderate to my needs and try to brow beat me by saying it was my fault by signing this estimation paperwork. What's the point of having estimation paperwork when they're not going to live up to their end of the bargain ? I talked to my insurance company and they told me it was the way that they coded the bill was the issue I asked her to code it in a different way using the word sedation only not sedation management she said she was not going to do that. I asked to talk to the doctor or the owner so we could work something out she refused to let me do so. It's not the $200 it's the principal at this point.I am challenging the $200 with my insurance company writing a letter and having to fax it in etc.
