She was taken from the lobby and then waited by herself in a room for 45 minutes before being seen by anyone. The extra procedure they did on her was $1,000 extra and they had no problem billing that amount. The extra procedure took 3 days to recover from and I would not have said yes to it. I called several times to speak with a manager and despite leaving messages with people and on voicemail, the manager never responded. I just got calls from the front desk asking to be paid. When I told them that I was changing dentists and wanted to leave with no bills they said I was squared up -owed nothing. Months later they called me about a payment that they found I owed. I could go on and on, but not worth any more of my time. This place is overpriced and unprofessional.

My sister's been a nurse for years and the dental hygienist berated her about her presumably high blood pressure. She then went into depth about "teaching" her about her teeth and gums, and proceeded to poke her gums until her entire mouth was bleeding. She felt shamed and violated. This woman should be held accountable and/or fired. The appt was around 11 on November 3rd. I'm guessing she has had other complaints. That was super odd especially for a first time patient. I have pretty good teeth and not many concerns but he spent the least amount of time with me. The hygienist Holly is kinda young and quite the chatterbox. I'm not sure she took many breaths. I've never had anyone take 1 full hour to clean my teeth. As you can see I have pretty good teeth. I think if she didn't talk as much it would've been faster. This was a full 2 hour appointment. Even getting a root canal I've never been at a dentist for 2 hours. They "offer" fancy stuff like paraffin Wax, hot wraps, movie glasses. But I say offer lightly. I was offered the hot wrap but nothing else. The massage chair is just an uncomfortable vibration. No thanks. All that has to be paid for somehow. Their prices make getting necessary work done impossible from a cost perspective even with insurance. They're super out of the way too. So nothing about it makes sense to go back. Went on a coworker referral so had much higher hopes. The one good thing is they give you replacement heads for electric toothbrushes which is awesomeness

After my mother came in, she hung up the phone, and most of the employees and the doctor disappeared from the office, except for two or one, including the front desk receptionist, as I said before, which again I find very unprofessional and immature. After the front desk receptionist hung up the phone, she briefly stared at me and looked away while other clients or customers were waiting, which I find unusual because every time I go to Anchorage Dental Arts, I rarely see that many clients or customers waiting at the office. I believe it is a setup, at least that's what I think. Anyway, the front desk receptionist made me stand there like an idiot or a fool until I sat down by myself. At least the front desk receptionist could tell me to sit down or something, but she didn't. While I was sitting down and waiting, the front desk receptionist came out of the office and helped and talked with the other clients or customers, but did not say anything to me, which I find very rude. I honestly didn't know dental office take deposit for appointments, like is this a lash or nail appointment which that requires a deposit? Shortly thereafter Dr. Hyer retired. In the year and a half since then they have not hired a practitioner who is able to perform the surgery. Despite repeated attempts to receive a refund I am told various reasons why they just can't get around to it. For example the office manager is not authorized, or the owner has to approve it, or they have to check the records, etc. This is been going on for months. In my opinion it is unethical and unprofessional to take a patients money for a particular service, then fail to provide the service, and then fail to address the return of the deposit.

I liked that he was even more into the mountains than I was, and that he also knew what he was doing but, even more importantly: was a good communicator. Adam is great at explaining the science and theory behind everything going on with your teeth, and will tell you how much you can expect to pay out of pocket, and even if you should or should not get a procedure. There are no obnoxious scare-tactics or hard-sells here! (a reason I've left dentists in the past) It had been 5 years since I had had a dental visit. And, rather than guilt-trip me, Adam used a data-driven approach based on x-rays and inspection (rather than heresay as at some other Dentists in town) to decide what I needed to make up for this lapse. I needed some pretty extensive scraping, but they helped me break it down into parts.
