While the warm-up is appropriate, once the stations begin, there is no active coaching. The children rotate through the equipment with no correction, no instruction, and no encouragement. They repeat the same movements incorrectly and do not receive any feedback on how to improve. The only station that receives any attention is the one closest to where she is seated. This results in: Children not learning or progressing Repeated mistakes with no guidance Bored and disengaged kids who are not developing confidence or interest in the sport At this age, children need a coach who is moving with them, observing, correcting form, and encouraging them -- not someone sitting apart from the class for most of the session. This is in clear contrast to our experience at Signature Gymnastics, where the coach was active, attentive, supportive, and involved. I am requesting that coaching expectations for this age group be reviewed. The children deserve active instruction and engagement from their coach.

The second time, I received absolutely no notice of the cancellation. When I requested my money back rather than be forced to wait for the next class (and risk another cancellation from this unreliable company), I was told no reimbursements would be made, citing policy. In the same conversation, the owner of this company yelled at me to "shut up while I expain." Apparently, it's Cooking with the Best Chef's policy that they can twice cancel a class, once without notification, and STILL keep their customer's money, forcing them to reinvest the funds in the next class offered. I went through Better Business Bureau to request my money back, and Bill ignored that as well. All I can do is encourage prospective clients to run like hell if you want to avoid a similar nightmarish experience. I'm still out $80.

She also loved the materials and the "studio" (though it seems very cramped to me) The downside for us was instructors style of teaching. She was harsh and not really welcoming or kind. When I tried to speak with her and share my concerns on the second day she made a big speech to me about how important it is making sure the children aren't comparing themselves to one another so they need to be isolated to their own work with no talking to one another. I think in a 4 day summer camp my expectation was more about light-hearted fun than something serious like that. We won't go back for this reason so I can't give it 5 stars. I wish it had gone differently because Matilda's work is really great!
