Our son started at ABC when he was 4 months old and is now 1y. I'm not going to lie, I had mixed feelings before we started. But oh boy I'm glad those mixed feelings were so wrong! The back-end administration of ABC might not be the smoothest or most modern, but they are good at what is truly most important. Our son is thriving at ABC and is given great and loving care throughout. Since we started, communication has been great and the teachers are very involved in reaching milestones and creating a stimulating environment for the kids. Our son always smiles when he sees the teachers and is just the happiest little guy which ABC is definitely to be thankful for. I'm hoping other people can see through the potential 'weird' first impression vibes because they absolutely deserve to get credit for all they do! read more

I read a comment from December 20, 2020 calling them Child abusers. I have to concur. ABC was our only option when signed our son up, but we had our doubts throughout the process. As soon we could pull him and transfer him to another daycare, we did - and he had but one week left at ABC. I'm sad to say that the level of care provided since we annouced our departure during that week has deteriorated even further. He came home dirty, with other kids' clothes, and just now we had received an awful photo showing a substantial bruise on his head. We picked him up right away and we'll never be going back. Avoid this place if you can, as they are unprofessional, with sub-par standards, do not adhere to their own policies - and I would generally say that in my view they only care about (i) the money, and (ii) putting up a reasonable appearance to get you through the door. Child abusers. Rude. Staff has little to no training but falsely identify themselves as teachers. Dirty. Worse daycare I've ever used for one of the highest monthly costs of 1800-2400 per month for the duration of our LOVELY stay. SMH. Desperation is an understatement. read more

My daughter has been going to ABC for almost a year. She had been to other daycares before but still, the transition was tough. The staff ABC they did everything to accommodate us, like changing her from one classroom to the other if it was easier, or been flexible with the potty training. Now she is very happy, comes back everyday with lots of crafts. They recently added enrichment classes, so the kids get yoga, dance and music once a week. Ms Eileen, the Education Director, is always happy to help. I also ike the way they organize lunch for the kids: they have breakfast in the morning, then a soup before nap, and get the main dish after nap, then a snack later in the day. Being able to compare after having seeing 3 different daycares, this is a smart choice. In other daycares, they feed them lunch very early before nap, but they are not hungry, having just had cereals, and they don't eat, so they wake up from nap very hungry. I am sometimes a bit lost with all the different teachers in the big room (I don't know how many they have or their schedules), but this has never been an issue. If I didn't put an extra star, it's because they lack an outdoor space, but I like the fact that they go out to McCarren every day when the weather permits. read more

I just found this nursery school to be described best as benign neglect. Our child BEGGED us not to go every day and had never had issues before nor after with child care. No one seemed to be in charge and strange things happened like they didn't inform us when other kids got croup (which my son caught) and they didn't inform us when a child there got swine flu. I think that notifying parents as to what is going on and around the school is important. It was a horrible experience for us. read more

This daycare was recommended by a good friend and our son has been attending for a few months now. He struggled with it at first, like most little ones do staying at a new place with new faces, but now he has slowly been adapting to the place, his new friends and the nice teachers. The place is always clean and in order. They have a daily routine that the littles ones need and our son seems to now be following through with it. They are good with contacting us with any issues or updates. In these last few months we have definitely noticed a great improvement in his behavior and social skills, since he was quite the shy boy before. When he has his off days they go out of there way to comfort him and are quite patient with him, which we take note of and appreciate. So far we were able to participate in the holiday activities with him and other parents, which I found to be great not only for the children but also a good chance for the parents to meet each other. Yes, there daycare fees are NOT outrageous but we as parents are most concerned with the development of our child and this place has helped out with that in every way possible and that in it self is priceless. I'm so happy we were told about this daycare and we highly recommend it. Thank you to the teachers and workers there for being so awesome!! read more

Very difficult to change the original arrangement, We had originally signed up for 3 days a week, but I lost my job and we were unable to pay that rate. We reduced his care to the bare minimum 2 days a week at a rate of 1100 a month. With 2 weeks notice, I requested 3 extra days of care because I had a freelance opportunity and was told they are full and cannot accommodate. They also advertise drop off rates or drop in rates but they are never available. read more

My daughter has been at ABC for almost a year. She loves her teachers and friends and looks forward to going there every morning and greets us with a smile every evening. She's learned many new things and brought home some great manners. It's a rare affordable option in a neighborhood that is only getting more and more expensive. read more

Our oldest daughter went to ABC for a year and a half and our youngest daughter joined their infant program as soon as it opened a few months ago. We have been extremely happy with the daycare. The space is cheery and full of fun bulletin boards and the children's artwork. The teachers are dedicated and really love the children. We were thrilled with the amount of educational curriculum for our older child, she learned her ABCs, can write her name and all sorts of other fairly advanced things that were really impressive to us, it is definitely more of a preschool than a daycare. I also really loved Miss Eileen and felt like she was always there to deal with any tricky situation. We also thought the food that they provide the children is really healthy and also very creative, they got my daughter to eat Moroccan chicken! We moved recently and have to switch to a different daycare in our new area and it really set in stone how great ABC is, we looked at 6 different daycares in our new area and none were nearly as good as ABC. I give it 5 giant "thumbs up." read more

My 3.5 year old son has been at ABC for a year and really likes it. He's has lots of buddies that we meet up with at McCarren park after school and I think he's learned a lot. It's very flexible- you can pay per day and last minute you usually can get a spot day before. Unlike other daycare centers in the neighborhood that adhere to the NYC school schedule where you pay even when the school is on break and then need to scramble for backup care, ABC is open most days and the teachers really do consider themselves teachers not babysitters and take pride in encouraging learning. We are starting pre-k in the fall and he'll be sad to leave some of his friends. It's a nice community. read more

My daughter started at 16 weeks old in November. I really struggled with the transition, and wondering if I had made the right choice in terms of daycare vs nanny, and wondering if I had chosen the right daycare. Less than a month in, I am so happy we chose daycare, and specifically that we chose ABC. The administration and the classroom teachers were so supportive during my transition. I struggled with Postpartum depression, and my anxiety during the transition was off the charts, they were patient and understanding throughout, and helpful in getting me through some of my neurosis! The teachers in the infant room are so loving to our daughter, and after she got through the initial hurdle, and inevitable first cold:), she is thriving and so happy there. She smiles at the teachers and her friends when we arrive, and barley acknowledges me at pick up! I can't recommend ABC more highly, and this is coming from a type A, intense mama, who didn't believe anyone could provide the care I was to our daughter. ABC's infant room is an amazing place for you baby if you have to go back to work, and I never worry now during the day, because I know she is safe, happy, and being incredibly well cared for by the teachers in the infant room. I don't know what these people are talking about! The building is nothing like the pictures! It's disgusting inside, the employees are unprofessional, and I do not believe that they have degrees in child care. My son is special needs and there were many times that he came home soiled. Everytime he came home, he would hide in his room for hours not speaking to anyone. At first I thought it was because of the transition from one day care to another but as soon as I got him out of this horrible place, he was much happier and no longer was coming home having meltdowns. This place should close down and also be checked professionally by the health department and the board of ed. read more

Our 4 year old son has been going to ABC full-time for the past two years now and he absolutely loves it! The teachers and the administration go above and beyond every single day - and they are an absolute joy to see in action, every single day. Our son loves going to ABC, even now that he has started PreK. The ABC after school program is great and perfect for our needs, as a family. My son has been attending ABC daycare for three months now and I couldn't be happier! I rarely write reviews but I felt that sharing this was very important for all of the expecting and new parents out there because I spent a lot of time trying to find and research the best choice of childcare for my infant! My family all lives in New England so using my mother as a childcare provider was not an option for me like it was for my sisters. I am also the first out of my group of friends to have a child in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg neighborhood. My husband and I finally decided on ABC and on my sons first day of school we ran into our old neighbors who ranted and raved about how happy they were at ABC and that our son was in good hands! Shortly after the first day there we realized how amazing the teachers are! My son is currently in the infant room and we couldn't feel luckier to have these lovely teachers watching him four days s week. The activities they do on a daily basis with the kids are fantastic-from water play, to outdoor strolls, to singalongs, to story time, wear your pajamas to school day, and yoga time--it's definitely an amazing, interactive, sensory/creative atmosphere that he gets so much out of! All day long we receive updates in the form of fun videos and pics. Now that we have been attending school there for over three months we have seen a few students graduate to the next class up and every day I see at least a former class mate or parent stop by their child's old room to say hi to the former teachers! It's an amazing small community with a family feel! I am surprised I haven't seen more people provide ratings because every new parent I have met there says how happy they are! My son has been at ABC for a year and a half. The teachers are very sweet and conscientious. They go to the park as often as possible and have some really cute events like beach and dance parties, as well as visits from librarians and firefighters. He also comes home with plenty of crafts for the seasons, holidays, etc. They serve a good, healthy range of foods and recently switched from homemade to a caterer.The few times our son has had a scrape or a bite from another student we received a phone call and an ouch report along with the daily report. We have never had any serious issues or concerns with his care. Of course, he is a young child who goes to day care all day, everyday so there are times when he doesn't want to go. But there are days he doesn't want to go to the park either. Overall, ABC is a great, affordable option. Most importantly, the staff members really care about the kids. read more

I really have not wanted to write a review on here but I am so bothered that I have finally decided to go ahead and do it. We have been ok with this place for the most part but recently a lot has been lacking. Thankfully my son goes twice a week and that is all. The other day i picked up my son after dropping him off in the morning at 9am and changing him into his swim gear as requested by him, letting his teachers know that his clothes and mind you he has three changes of clothes in his cubby were there for after the park. I picked up my son at 5:45pm and he was still in his swim gear and it was damp and I was told "he even napped in it". I am so upset and beside myself because who does that!!!! We both then had a restless nights sleep because he was so uncomfortable down there and chapped and can't stop tugging at his area. I really don't know what to do, I am so bothered. I will not be sending his swim gear anymore and would suggest that other parents do the same. read more
