I could not have anticipated all of the ways that DPS would benefit our family's life. The teachers and directors are loving, thoughtful, and transparent. The days are structured for the kids while also allowing for room to let the kids be kids and learn at their own individual pace. I always feel like I have a good understanding of what my kid's day was like, both because of the communication via the app and the conversations I have with her teachers at the end of the day. But most importantly, the teachers go above and beyond to connect with each of the kids, and it's clear that they care about them. The love and support that my child has received makes me feel like DPS is an extension of my parenthood journey. Instead of daycare feeling like a stressful thing that I have to manage, it is a place where my child is learning and growing while surrounded by people who love her. I'll be sad when we graduate from daycare!

My son has an IEP due to epilepsy (btw not a standar but the law to be ollowed) and they refused to honor it. And I quote "if we give your son extra time then we would have to give everyone extra time" clearly displaying their lack of understanding what an IEP is. We handed the nurse a picture of our son and details in his epilepsy. Copies enough for every teacher and staff that he would be in contact with. Two months into the trimester, not one teacher knew he had epilepsy nor received our packet. There were so many problems with this beautiful school with their hard wood decorative cut logs, newly constructed labs, fish tanks and dogs and peacocks roaming the grounds. We were lured in by the appearance but that all it was. The school is very popular so my son was crammed into a classroom with 40 students!! Very disappointed and wanted to let the principal know when we decided to leave. He rudely and unceremoniously could care less about constructive criticism and was clear that we were leaving so he had nothing to say to us. Be better human beings Kellenburg let alone Catholics.

They take a very long time to answer the door the longest I've waited was about 10 minutes to drop off my child and the quickest time when preparing him for pickup was about 15 minutes. They also tend to forget what your child came with when you're dropping them off, either they'll give you another child's belongings and you fail to realize the first time not realizing so you're conscious the next time to be more alert and then when you realize the second time and catch this and other parents are complaining about the same thing then you know it's someone not paying attention at all or just being careless. So from my experience and a perfect example my son came home with Pink lined Minnie Mouse pampers on when I supplied the school with more than 2 weeks worth of blue lined Mickey Mouse pampers on the same day he had those pink Minnie Mouse pampers on so I'm left to assume when I don't like assuming or guessing as a parent. Your child's socks may go missing as if a child borrowed it for a day or two and then you'll notice they can't find your child's shoes the next day and mysteriously it turns up a week later. This program will have you either late for work if you work from home or traveling to work doesn't make a difference for lines of possible termination from your job(s). They will also tell you last minute or unexpectedly that if you have a toddler which has enrolled you'd have to go to another location which may inconvenience you as well I personally from experience wouldn't recommend it. It will not only make you late it will cause a great deal of inconvenience whether you're driving or taking an Uber. Up until the 2022-2023 school year, Chickpeas was a parent-run cooperative preschool for 40 years. There is a social-justice focus to the preschool curriculum. But, you need to ask whether the teachers go too far with 3 and 4 year olds when your child tells you they are "scared of policemen because they kill people", with no further context. The school created their own Covid policies that went above and beyond CDC recommendations and DoH policies because that is what the teachers were comfortable with. They continue to hold very strict policies after the rest of the world has decided it's time to relax them. This is fine until the school was closed for the equivalent of almost 2 months for Covid cases. The lead teacher/executive director has been lead teacher at the school for a few years and taught there for several more. She has deeply ingrained issues with people she sees as privileged. I don't understand why she continues to work in the field she does, given the fact that small children have parents that teachers need to interact with. She has difficulty regulating her emotions when things don't go her way and the stresses of Covid have not helped. She refuses to acknowledge different perspectives and instead sees them as attacks. She has shared damaging and fabricated stories about interactions with parents. The list goes on. Both the lead teacher and one of the other teachers resigned last year. This should have been a good opportunity to hire new people and give the school new life, but the majority of parents didn't want to do the necessary work to find new teachers. There was mediation, and then the 2 teachers changed their minds and decided to stay. This was a mistake. The school has a contract with the DOE for UPK and this 2022-2023 school year it has new 3K funding, thanks to the stewardship of a few involved parents.

The room is bright, beautiful and filled with art created by the children. There are books and toys to stimulate many areas of development, and the children are given lots of freedom to play and explore in their own way. There is a beautiful gym and a side yard where the children get time every day to run around and move their bodies. They also have weekly music and yoga, and a weekly color theme for art projects and homemade playdough. There's a good amount of structure--not too much, not too little. Our daughter is making friends and so are we! We chose PSCCC because it was one of the few preschools where we noticed a lot of diversity--both among the students and teachers. We love the community we have found there!

When we were exploring local options, we knew our decision would be based on where we felt he would be 1) safe, 2) healthy and 3) loved. Everywhere we toured, we felt like he'd be safe and healthy. What set Two By Two apart was that we felt like he'd would be cared for by professionals who created genuine, authentic connections - as aunties, as kin. He was so little and our care priorities were more about him feeling seen, heard and addressed. Now that he's approaching Kindergarten, he's getting the same care while also getting support with socialization, learning emotional regulation, and the basics of academics (letter and number recognition, phonics). He has a group of close friends, uses feeling statements and is reading sight words and writing his name. All huge wins without robotic structure or impersonal instruction- which while inevitable in our school systems can wait until the elementary years. Two By Two continues to make progress in communication, family engagement and facilities. We've seen growth here and have been grateful for their request for feedback and impressed to see it implemented. Considering our care priorities and the experience that our son and we have had here, we will continue to recommend Two By Two to our neighbors and friends.

She smiles when she puts her coat on (and she recently learned to zip it up herself!). Barbara and her aides teach the kids new skills every week, from learning how to snap, to hanging up their coats to counting. I've heard from other EAM parents that their kids were well ahead of the learning and maturity curve by the time they started kindergarten, and I believe it. Barbara is kind, but most importantly, she treats her pupils with respect and gives them the space to try and try again -- which leads the kids to take pride in their accomplishments. This is a small school that's somewhat off the radar, but that is also part of its charm: it's just one mixed age classroom (ages 2-4). There is also a private outdoor space with some play structures. If you're on the fence, do a class visit to see how things are run. Our daughter has really thrived here. It is very well organized and the kids are always actively engaged in one activity or another. The kids, even the little ones, are expected to be able to do a lot for themselves including putting on and taking off their coats, taking out and putting away the activities and games, going to the bathroom, eating lunch etc. and they all seem to be able to do these tasks without adult help. The children are given a lot of autonomy in deciding which particular activities or work stations they wish to involve themselves in as well as choosing which other child they wish to play with at any particular time. However, this all takes place under the ever attentive eyes of Barbara and her assistants. Barbara is really very talented with children. While she allows every child to make a lot of decisions, she watchfully ensures that the children are being kind, respectful and helpful to each other and that they allow each other to "work" calmly and effectively throughout the day. And she sure succeeds. The children are unbelievably well behaved at school and they learn how to work in a calm organized and cooperative way that will, I expect, serve them very well throughout the rest of their education and lives. Barbara is a very special teacher. She truly understands young children in a way that most people don't. Our daughter has thrived in this Montessori and we couldn't be happier at how ready she is for Kindergarten in the fall
