The new store is large and beautiful it kind of reminds me of a total wine with the wood floors. The staff were friendly and gave us a great tip about one of our favorite products. We were with our relative who was making the purchase and had already shown their ID. Still, stuff from night shift a woman with glasses, suddenly demanded IDs from all of us as we were leaving -- even though we were not buying anything. At the same time, another family with minors walked out and she didn't say a word to them. When we questioned this unfair and discriminatory treatment, JEN became aggressive, kicked us out of the store, and threatened to call the police. The way she singled us out was racist, humiliating, and completely unacceptable. No customer's family should ever be treated like this. Nice selection good prices the clerks though were more interested in picking the onions out of their to-go food than helping the customers. We asked if they had a mai-tai mix and were told "If you don't see it we don't have it. Enough said. read more

Problem in the wine section is they place "hangers" that tout the high rating of a wine....it might say Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 "91 Points Suckling"! The problem is the wine on the shelf that's for sale.....not one bottle of the 2018!. This scam is going on in the liquor industry and I have caught other stores doing the same thing....it's probably the distributors that do this. Doesn't matter, if I go to ABC to buy wine they are the ones taking my money and it is up to them to manage thier distributors. I'm trying to Clark Howard to focus on this consumer rip off so more people become aware. read more

They always have just one registered open and there will be as many as 10 people in line. Meanwhile 3 or 4 workers are standing close by and just talking. I was just in there and an employee was behind me in line and he finally went up and asked his co-worker to open up. The guy was not happy to open up a reg. I said it always takes so long and he said really. There's only two people in line. I sad look again and there were 5. Don't go there unless you can only get what you want there. read more

Received $5 voucher from ABC (I had to have spent hundreds to get it, and not first time I have gotten a $5 voucher!). Went in to store (Port Charlotte) and put + bottles of wine/vodka, rum in cart. If a bottle's cost ends in the number 7 (these do not count towards your $35 minimum to use $5 voucher). Well, I did the math, in my head, was certain I met the $35 minimum. When the clerk rang up the bottles purchased the total that qualified for the $35 purchase was $34.97. Just three (3) pennies short. Very much to my surprise. Think there was a sale on several of the bottles, not sure. Now, remember there were numerous other bottles, but all costs were ending in the #7. summary: the cheap bastards of ABC would let me use the $5 voucher. JUST $0.03 cents. So, with my cart filled with bottles? I left the bottles in the cart and on the counter. Walked out the door...And, left to go get what I needed elsewhere. Hey folks, there is Total Wine, BJ's, Sam's etc in Port Charlette. I went, and will go there, to get my alcohol..... Now you know 'the rest of the story.' read more

They have a wonderful and wide variety to choose from, however their night shift closer Kathy defiantly needs an attitude adjustment. Besides being locked in the store when they were trying to close, she had a few choice words to say about us customers, not knowing that I was still in the store listening to every word she had to say. So great store!!! Kathy on the night shift in Port Charlotte, you suck and you will be the reason I take my business and the friends that were in the parking lots business to Port Charlotte liquors. I always loved the store and convenient of it, but your attitude towards the people that pay your salary is atrocious. If your high school education didn't teach you that definition it means horrendous or unbearable. read more

Great store overall, fine selections however, girl at register with glasses and hair in ponytail was SUPER RUDE and has been each time we've been in there. Has a total NO CARE ATTITUDE. It really brings such a great store down to their knees!! read more
