Friends rave about this place. I finally had a chance to go. I called because open table has zero availability. The hostess answered and she told me I could have a table for one at 7:15! Ok! I got dressed up and walked over there. My table was ready on time; it was in the lounge area of the restaurant. They offered me the table or said I could sit at the bar. I opted to sit at the bar. The bar was almost full but people were leaving. Apparently people eat early there. The bartender was swamped but smiled and got me a glass of water. Soon I had menus. I like that they have a regular menu as well as a specials menu, including the usual cocktails and some special cocktails. I ordered the conquest, which seemed like a twist on an old fashioned. They offered bread or focaccia bread, I declined. And heads up- bread service is not included. It's an up charge. Normally I don't care but I was having dessert, not bread. I had the halibut special. It was phenomenal. One of the guys from the kitchen dropped it off and asked if I needed anything'- I replied salt. I find that I need salt often at restaurants. They brought the salt out real fast! I had a bite and determined it didn't need any more salt- it was perfectly salted! Woohoo! Fantastic. I ate my whole dish and then I savored my cocktail. The bartender wasn't much for conversation , as she was very busy, alone, covering the entire bar and drinks for the whole restaurant. She did invite me to try dessert, and mentioned a coconut cream cake that was not on the menu. I agreed to it and it was heavenly. Seemed like cheesecake icing with fluffy layers of cake and subtle coconut flakes throughout. The chocolate ice cream was weird at first but then I realized it's like almond joy/ mounds - coconut and chocolate are often paired. The espresso crumble gave it a nice crunch and there was caramel all over the plate. Wow! I took the majority of the cake home. It was a large portion and indulgent. I paid my tab and finished my drink. I was not rushed. I would go back again. It's a bit pricey. The fish special was $58. The cocktail was $17 and the dessert was $16. So one person, who did not add on the bread service, was $91. It's expensive. I would emphasize you can probably get a seat at the bar if you can't get a reservation. Also- the entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot and not facing the main road. I got a little lost walking there. The signage is poor. I can't imagine going there the first time in the dark. So give yourself a couple extra minutes if it's your first time going there. read more

Wednesday CCGF LUNCH THE PERFECT CAPER. The Perfect Caper was more than perfect! We were over 30 ladies and our servers Zak & Tabby were superb in getting everything our ladies desired for lunch! We celebrated Mel o dy's March birthday ! And we had a few new comers join us. There was 3 booths and two large tables, and everyone was comfortable, and the conversations commenced. My sister loves this place and always recommended. In town, considering a move here so-- Food: Can't argue food was excellent. We ordered a couple of salads and I had a Brussels sprouts apple version off their lunch menu. Fresh, well seasoned. My friend ordered a Cobb salad version which was at least 40% larger than mine - so portion size needs improvement. I tried that one as well and it was excellent. Service: Rushed to order and generally made to feel that we're done a great favor to be seated at 2:15p, excuse me 2:17p for lunch. Walk in, host are you folks here for dinner? Me: no lunch. Host: we stopped serving lunch. Me: when? Host:215p. Me: it's 217? Host: let me check. Ok, we will do it this time. 5 minutes later from kitchen: WTF, f this god-- etc. waitress: you need to hurry up and order because lunch is over. The Perfect Caper truly lives up to its name! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Grace. Although we didn't have a reservation, she graciously invited us to sit at the bar, which turns out to be a fantastic vantage point. Our server Jacob was exceptional - he took the time to explain the menu and after learning it was our first visit, told us "Welcome to your new favorite restaurant". He was spot on; this is officially our new go-to-spot. Between the stellar service, extensive menu, and gorgeous food presentation, it is clear this kitchen has it going on. We loved hearing Jacob speak so highly of the owner and her impressive accolades on Food Network. We even looked it up, she is amazing. It is clear why the quality is so high here. The entire visit was an experience in itself! From the moment we entered till the moment we left, the service was spectacular, and the food was amazing. We were a table of six on our waiter was extremely informative and helpful as we chose our wine. Service was at a relaxed pace, but on perfect for the food type. We ordered the calamari as well as the spicy mussels (I can't remember the actual title, but they are the house specialty) and both were fantastic Everyone at the table other than me ordered the Duck a deux and I had the miso salmon. The food came out at the same time and you could tell that it was good because no one was talking, just eating and sighing with delight. I truly thought I was too full for dessert, but it turned out. I had just enough room for the pistachio financier, which was a special for the evening and it was beyond delicious. Everyone else ordered the crème brûlée and was satisfied, but I can honestly say I was glad I chose the cake! I would definitely return to this restaurant to order other items on the menu. WOW! What a hidden gem. My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant on a weekend getaway to the Sunseeker resort. My husband wanted to get away from the resort and try out some local spots and we are SO glad we did. We sat at the bar which was an incredible experience chatting it up with the staff and watching the love they all pour into each drink, meal, etc. The teamwork on display was so cool to witness. The manager was right there with them making drinks, serving up meals, etc. We had no idea the Chef was famous and on Food Network! And from the taste of everything, you can absolutely tell. There's such care that went into each menu item. So many unique flavors. Everything was wonderful! I want to take a minute to brag on our bartender. She was the star of the show!! She immediately made drink and food recommendations, she was a true professional. She put in so much care to each drink she made and every customer that dined with her. Excellent service and meal for a late lunch/early dinner! My friend is celiac and they had great options for her. She had a dish she she loved with shrimp and gluten free pasta. They even had a homemade gluten free roll. She says it tasted more like a biscuit but it was good. I had the filet with Bernaise sauce, whipped potatoes and green beans. It was cooked perfect! We arrived without a reservation but the maitre'd was anxious to find a place for us. A curtain separates the main dining area from the bar, which keeps noise down. Jacob and Grace were very friendly. We started with the gouda garlic bread, then the crab/shrimp pappardelle special, and the Filet Saison. Came here for my birthday dinner November 2024. Dark environment which was good for a late dinner reservation. My boyfriend did call ahead and request champagne at the table which they didn't have (he had to ask again after we were sat) but that was the only misstep. Service was terrific. I opted for soup of the day but it was butternut squash and we asked the waitress for a suggestion. She pushed the mushroom appetizer on us. I was hesitant as it was $18 and I had only recently started to enjoy eating mushrooms after a lifetime of being anti-mushroom. GET. THE. MUSHROOM. Hen of the wood (maitake). It was crispy and meaty and the depth of flavor was so good I've been chasing it ever since that night. Calamari was standard if not sub par. Breading had no flavor and it was served with the sweet chili sauce. I like Bahama Breeze better even. We had the miso salmon udon and some duck breast. The duck had no flavor in our opinion (especially if you're used to eating Chinese prepared duck). Miso salmon udon was so good although the "udon" noodles looked and tasted like linguini. This place never disappoints! This is my usual go to when I want the fine dining experience, complete with outstanding dishes and exceptional service. The experience starts as soon as you enter the door, the cozy atmosphere allows you feel at ease right away. You are greeted and sat promptly, servers eloquently take your orders after being examined the specials in detail. They take the entire order at once, from appetizers to the main course so that they could time it perfectly on the way out. And they nail it every time! Each time I go I try to have something new, usually whatever is on the special. They had a mushroom risotto that we ordered as an appetizer, along with the Maitake mushroom. What an amazing pairing! The Maitake was light and crunchy while the risotto creamy and full of flavor, they really balanced each other out perfectly. For our main courses I chose the vodka pasta on the special with chicken added and my husband got their veal chop special on a linguini. For desserts we got the classic bread pudding, and the dessert on the special - a pistachio delectable. Everything was cooked to perfection, glasses stayed full. Had an amazing meal at The Perfect Caper! Best meal in ages! Hubby had the Moroccan lamb with green beans and fingerlings. It was by far the best lamb I have ever had. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had the Fig & Pig or something which was a bone in chop with an amazing fig jam and strawberries on it. Would never have thought to put strawberries but with the seasoned pork and the jam gave a sweet jammy taste with the savory pork. The potatoes and carrot baked was so good. It had some cheese in it almost gratin but better and I tasted a hint of nutmeg in there. The salad was excellent too. The dessert was banana cream pie which is a favorite of mine but you rarely find it on a menu. It was divine!! There is no better banana cream pie than the rose Plantation up near The Villages but this came in at a pretty great second place. It was excellent! The whole meal was decadent. Everything was AA++. I had scallops. The best I've had in my entire life! I'm from New England, so I've had plenty. My meal was perfect! My hubby had the special, venison. It melted in your mouth. We had apps: mushroom capellini and brussel sprout and apple salad! Omg- this meal was incredible. And a couple Frothy coffee martini's. Could ask for a better meal. This restaurant is high price cuisine. The food is good. but the attitude is not so good. After a nice dinner, the waited decided that he needed the table for who knows what. There were open tables and no one was waiting. Very rude and uncalled for when you consider the price of the meal. We had to leave. No where did it state that we had to be out of the restaurant at a certain time. I will probably never return to this establishment again and I will tell all of my friends to avoid it unless they want to eat and get out fast with little opportunity to socialize. My husband and I had dinner at The Perfect Caper last night. My husband ordered the shrimp and crab pasta special ($59) and I had the Vegan Dreaming entree. Mine was bland. The flavor of my husband's meal was good, but we were surprised by the portion of the seafood. The dish included 2 shrimp and a small amount of crab, which was disappointing, given the price. The most surprising part of the experience was when the chef/owner stopped by the table to ask how we enjoyed our meals. When my husband politely mentioned he was disappointed with the small amount of meat in his dish, the chef responded "Well then it would have had to be twice the price, wouldn't it?" She then turned and walked away, shaking her head. It was an unexpectedly dismissive response that left a poor impression. There could have been so many other, more positive ways to handle the situation. Needless to say, we will not be back and will offer the same advice to anyone who asks. read more

Be careful when getting gift cards from this location. I bought a gift card for my father for Father's Day. I thought it was electronic so didn't pay attention to the address, as in this day and age most gift cards are. I noticed quite quickly that it was the wrong address and emailed one minute later. When I called to inquire they initially told me they didn't receive the email and there was nothing they could do. I provided them the emails and called back the next week and they changed their tune and said that it didn't matter if I had emailed they couldn't help me. I've now gone back and looked at the website and it's quite confusing. Additionally I kept getting told "the owner" says this but he didn't respond to my emails and was never the person I was chatting with. Not a great way to run a business. read more
