For over 20+ years I have used ABC Imaging while working at other firms in the AEC industry. They have provided numerous printing services: huge proposals, posters, reprographic services, marketing materials, etc. When we started our own firm a few years ago, I automatically thought ABC Imaging would be more expensive than your well-known "neighborhood" national chain. When I got a $300+ per set quote for drawings, something said get some other quotes. The one-store local shop never got back to me but ABC Imaging did and their price was about $60 less per set! I was then re-connected with the last ABC account rep I used at my former employer. He told me he would also be my firms rep if we opened an account & sent me a credit app. A month later I needed prints but they were from an architect outside of the US and some deciphering was needed. I called the account rep and explained the situation. He assured me that ABC could assist and gave me a few names of who to speak with. I put the documents on a thumb drive and went down to ABC. The general manager actually spent over an hour with me making sure I extracted the English version of the documents. This saved me a lot of money because printing the other versions was a waste but I need to make sure I had ALL documents. The files were a mess so this was a tedious task. I was not expecting his help but really appreciated the GM's assistance and thought, "maybe this is a slow day for him, no way can he do this all the time". Though I was will to pay COD as I had done the time before, my credit app was approved within hours and a few more hours later I received a call that my print job was at the front desk. ABC was happy to deliver them but as a small firm, I like to get face time with my vendors when I can. I am a small, local, woman-owned firm and like to work with small, local firms whenever possible; and on occasion even willing to pay a little more to support the "little guy". I never really considered ABC Imaging a little firm, but they are local and they are a lot smaller than the well-known "neighborhood" national chain. I was also presently surprised that my print job was not as much as I thought it would be cost wise. I now feel silly to have thought that ABC Imaging would have cost more. I have never had a problem with their customer service before and it was on point this time as well. I like that fact their counter is open late (10pm?) I know in the past I have worked a Friday night until Saturday morning, dropped off a job and been able to get it Monday morning. I have notified all staff that ABC Imaging is now our go to for printing services here on out. And once again, I am an ABC Imaging (happy) customer! read more

Do not trust this company with valuable items! I am an Artist that specializes in large scale graphite pencil illustrations on high quality paper. I took 4 large original (44" x 30") works in for scanning at ABC Imaging(M street), before they were to be framed for an upcoming exhibition. I got the artwork back to my studio and upon inspection realized they had been majorly damaged by the employee(s) scanning them. Even after I emphatically outlined when I dropped off the artwork that they were to be handled with 'extreme care'. They were not. They were damaged to the point that they could not be exhibited. There were dents and fingermarks all over the artwork in places where there's no reason a finger should be touching. You would think after 1 was damaged they would take a little more care with the remaining 3. They did not. After contacting the store I took the artwork in and had a cordial meeting with the store Operations Manager/Store VP. After inspecting the artworks himself, he agreed that they had significant damage and I was confident a fair and expedient solution for recompense would be found. That was not to be. After conversing with ABC Imaging's headquarters he emailed me with their position on the matter and it was: 'ABC Imaging is not responsible for any loss or damage to originals due to inherent risks involved in the reproduction of your documents resulting from both human and equipment related factors. We always take great care and very rarely experience such issues - but it does happen from time to time.' I was angry, shocked and appalled! Lack of care and competence leading to damage is NOT an 'inherent risk'! Marks made from equipment would come under that classification. This was an absolute case of total incompetence and due care. I spent 4 months (Approx 600hrs) drawing the 4 pieces of art in readiness for my 1st solo exhibition and now they are sitting in a drawer in my studio. No exhibition and almost $10k loss in income. ABC Imaging did not even reimburse me for the scanning service. Wanting to take the matter further, I was given the contact details for the VP of Operations at ABC Imaging. I have emailed him 3 times over the last 6 weeks to establish a communication between us and to this date he has ignored any attempt I've made to resolve the matter. I clicked on the "get a quote" button on the ABC Imaging website and somebody from an ABC Imaging in Northern Virginia responded by asking me, "What would you like to print?" I replied, "I uploaded some files. Where you unable to receive the attachments?" They replied, "Yes, I downloaded the files. What do want to print? Booklets posters, etc.. How many what size?" I replied, "I just wanted to print loose sheets. Color sheets and photos in color and line drawings in black and white." After a week and no reply, I contacted ABC Imaging in NW Washington DC directly via email and Doug, replied right way. I told him what I wanted, and he asked me a few questions and got me a quote in a matter of minutes. He was great. I went in the following week with my quote, and they ran my job.
