I needed some invitations printed fairly quickly and while at nearby Paper Source, I was recommended the team at KKP. I sent them an email with what I needed and some questions, and received a reply pretty quickly with answers, and by the next day I was in their shop to see paper samples and talk to Ece. The shop is located in a cute little alley in Georgetown, and is decorated with tons of family photos and a nice wall mural of Istanbul (cool!!). Really cozy and makes you happy to support a local family business. I met Ece who was really friendly and took the time to answer all of my amateur questions about paper size/paper texture, and advised me on a great paper selection that would print the watercolors on my invitation beautifully. She was informative and very helpful. I put in my order (very reasonable prices and better to get the in-person experience as opposed to trusting a web service where you don't get a human), and I had my invitations printed literally a day or so later. Ece and her team are very responsive via email, in person, and when I saw the results in person, they were better than I'd imagined. I am a freelance designer who has worked with many print vendors in the past. Unfortunately, this experience was nothing but a nightmare. I worked with them to print some folders and one sheets, and what should have taken no more than a couple weeks, took a couple months. I was promised both folders and one sheets within a month, and had to wait nearly two. During this time, I was constantly having to reach out for updates, rather than them keeping me informed of what was going on. And when I began to get impatient and ask questions, instead of an apology, I was given attitude in return, saying how it wasn't their fault for taking so long. In the end, the folders had to be reprinted twice due to printing errors, and the final product was delivered nearly a month after I was promised. This place has the worst customer service and the staff is incompetent. Go to the fedex next door. I wanted to print a photo for someone for a special gift and then print three additional photos. I went to Kwik Kopy and told the man there that these were the four images and that I wanted each of them printed. I even showed him my favorite and indicated that that photo would be framed. I picked up the photos and he had only printed three of the four and the third photo he printed twice. The gift was ruined. I went back in and he actually tried to charge me for correcting his mistake. I explained why I wouldn't and was ready to leave when he started to insist it was MY MISTAKE. His manager then walks in-not HAVING HEArD the conversation and tells me not to argue. WTF that's not how you manage!! Do yourself a favor and don't go here--they will mess up your order and then blame you. No customer service!! read more

I'm going between 4 and 5 stars, but either way I highly recommend. Here's my story. I am not a professional publisher or designer or anything. Two weeks ago I was overseas and learned that two friends, UN workers, had been killed in Somalia. After a couple of days of shock and grief, I decided I wanted to do something with a t-shirt commemorating them - and I wanted to wear it in a race I was doing that Sunday. Granted this was a tall order. I contacted probably a dozen printing tee shirt places and most of them weren't interested, said it couldn't be done, or couldn't even understand what I was talking about. I spent about 2 days back and forth playing phone tag with Kwik Kopy because between the time change and traveling back to the U.S., I was never able to phone when they were open. But I was pleased with their patience and persistence. We ended up emailing quite a lot on the Friday before. I sent the designer the names and dates of my friends' birth and death dates, and the UN flag logo and a broken heart. The designer was fantastic. He made the broken heart more subtle and placed it inside the UN logo instead of the usual continents that are usually in it, with my friends' info below. It was absolutely beautiful. They originally were going to deliver it but this process went too late into Friday so they couldn't. I ended up hiring a courier to pick it up on Saturday so I could wear it Sunday. I should also note that their prices were much cheaper than I would have expected for a design, printing of one single tee shirt. However, they had a problem with the printing apparatus and emailed me after-hours Friday, letting me know. They weren't able to correct it by Saturday morning, so, disappointed, I cancelled the courier and asked them to also contact the courier to let them know (I wasn't in an area of cell phone access during the business hours so I wanted to make sure all bases were covered). I understand - these things happen, and I appreciated their keeping me updated. They told me that since I had the design I could just take it somewhere else and get it printed. I didn't want to do that - it was their design and their work, and I didn't feel it was right to do that. Later on, I saw an email that they had been able to fix the apparatus and had printed my shirt. I saw it too late - I was out of email range for most of Saturday - and so I didn't get it in time to wear on Sunday for the race. But I emailed them and told them I wanted the shirt anyhow, even though I didn't get it until after. They delivered the shirt personally to me downtown in my office, and told me they weren't going to charge me for it - I didn't think that was right either. They did end up cutting me a break on the price because they didn't come through in the (very abbreviated) timeframe that we had agreed upon. But that's not why I am giving them 4-5 stars - it's because from the beginning, they were willing to work with me and treat me just as an important client would be treated even thought I was just little old me. And they came up with a beautiful design, and moved heaven and earth to fit the basically impossible timeframe I needed the shirt in. cannot warn other brides enough: STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENDOR. Ece and her team left me in tears after only two interactions and every other vendor I've dealt with so far has been so pleasant! One of my bridesmaids is also a graphic designer and designed my Save the Dates with gold foiling for the lettering. Since gold foiling is a special process I had been searching for just the right printer. Originally I used a general online printer, who sent me a proof, but the printer was having repeated issues with the high res photos. So I figured I'd support local business and search a nearby vendor. Enter KKP, which I found through the Knot. I called a week ago and spoke with a man who was a little rude but who said yes they did gold foiling. I was very specific about what I needed them for. My fiancé and I have pretty demanding jobs so it took about a week before I was able to make the time to stop by during work hours since KKP isn't open on the weekends or past 5:30. When I walked in I was speaking with Ece who automatically tried explaining the difference between gold ink and gold foiling to me in a most condescending manner. I politely let her know I knew the difference and showed her my proof and explained I wanted just that but with my high res photos. She automatically said they didn't do gold foiling and I pointed out that in fact someone on the phone said yes they did... she seemed to think I was lying until a man (the jerk Tom who routinely answers poor reviews and bullies other young women online like the great man he is) piped up that was him (it had been) but that again it was a process and it may or may not be done. I showed Tom my save the date and he said he could get a quote but made a condescending comment that "I mean it'll cost you" and Ece also looked me up and down and made a similar comment. I was pretty taken aback by these rather blatant remarks since I hadn't said anything about my budget yet. I asked for an estimate since they seemed so worried about the cost and I was told it was impossible to even get a broad RANGE. Honestly I felt that the two of them judged my appearance as a young woman without some huge rock. I found it very rude and very unprofessional. I know gold foiling isn't cheap but it is an expense we want. I was frustrated by the lack of enthusiasm, lack of help, and lack of even eye contact. Not one employee stayed standing with me, all three remained staring at their computers while dismissing me. I politely said I am going to do a bit more research rather than commit and Tom, without looking up, said "yeahhhh, why don't you do that." It was so rude and so dismissive and I could feel their eyes watch me leave. Not one person tried to stop me, not one person tried to offer to help, and to be honest I'm not sure why they're listed as a vendor on the Knot since they clearly don't want to help brides. Or maybe it's just young-looking brides. Maybe it was just me. Whatever it was, they made it CRYSTAL clear I wasn't wanted in that store or as a client. I promptly exited, rounded the corner, and burst into tears. My friends already had new printers lined up and waiting and luckily already found a warm and courteous place. I have a lot of printing to be done for this wedding and would have loved to use KKP, but they made it clear they don't want business at this time. I would recommend staying away unless you feel like being demeaned, judged, and dismissed for no utter reason. read more

I can say with total confidence they are the best printing company we have ever dealt with over 30 years. Recently the Fedex Office centers have arrived with a vastly more limited service lineup, but double or triple the price of KKP. Except for the fact that one store is open 24/7 I still go directly to Kwik Copy over Fedex for all my printing. So I run a small nonprofit and we only use printers a few times a year, but when we do it is for big deal jobs, and the quality must be immaculate the cost reasonable. I have found Kwik Kopy over the past 2 years, to be a delight to work with, of outstanding quality and the most competitively priced of any printing shop we have dealt with in the DC area in the last 4 years--and I have searched!
