Wanda publicly questioned if my Deaf husband, Randy Spann, was really Deaf, assuming he was using his voice and telling him to "turn off the microphone"--even though he never used his voice at all. 2. When I defended him, she blamed "hearing parents" and tagged me, wrongfully assuming I was hearing and his parent. I'm not hearing, not his parent, and erasing my identity hurt deeply. 3. She claimed Randy was "making noises with his mouth" and dismissed it as "being blunt"--audism and discrimination, especially harmful from someone in mental-health settings. 4. She never apologized publicly. She privately messaged me saying she felt "invaded," yet she took no public responsibility. Wanda works in roles where Deaf people trust her. Her public gatekeeping, invalidation, and refusal to own her harm is a community safety issue. If Connect Society continues to let her interpret or support vulnerable clients without addressing this, it puts Deaf people--especially Deaf BIPOC--at risk. Please investigate and ensure client safety before continuing to work with or refer to Wanda Vintinner.

To say that I play pretty hard and don't think about the consequences is a bit of an understatement. I visited the ESI after a fairly bad injury to my right leg that had left me with some nerve damage - meaning I was having trouble actually using my foot to walk, which scared me pretty badly. After a bit of googling, I found ESI and sent them an email outlining what I had done and my symptoms - I am not a professional athlete and I had already had x-rays done at a medicentre claiming "nothing was broken," so I was nervous as to whether my case was actually legitimate or not. Low and behold, I was emailed back almost immediately by the admin staff, asking me to call in and make an appointment. They were able to find me an appointment within a few days of sending that email, which is an amazing feat for any doctor's office. I went in and saw Dr Gregg and he was a wonderful doctor - really understood that my active life is important to me and gave me the facts straight without being unfriendly. He was confident and knowledgeable and I walked out (well, hobbled out) feeling really great that I had found a solution to some of my injuries. He explained a lot of things about my feet and legs that no other doctor has taken the time to explain to me. I have also had the pleasure of seeing David, one of the individuals at the ESI who does orthotics making and fitting. Booking several appointments with him for the various fittings and consultation was very easy and he seemed to really love his trade and be genuinely concerned for my health. I have been wearing my orthotics for almost a month now and have seen severe improvements in my running stride and my pronation. It is scary how many injuries came out of those elements alone and how long it took for me to find a doctor in Edmonton who actually figured that out. The clinic itself is very nice and clean, and includes a large physiotherapy space on site. All orthotics are also made on site, which is nice to know. If you have any problems with muscle pain, injuries, mobility issues or foot pain, I definitely recommend calling and getting yourself in to see the doctors at the ESI. It's really great to find a medical centre that is going to get you the answers you need to be active and pain-free.

I went here in the late 90s for my diploma and now I am finding more reasons to attend. I went to…read moresee The Crucible here. We were in a theater upstairs. I found the space unusual because it was all around, which I think would make it harder to coordinate a play because there is no front or back. They seemed to make it work. The acting was decent and I love seeing the passion of the students. Definitely will be here again for events. And for the student, smaller class sizes, more one on one attention, close to downtown and LRT and an easy to maneuver campus make it worth the extra cost.

I began a Certificate program by taking a few online courses. The BlackBoard online learning…read moreplatform was fairly easy to log into and use to submit and view assignments, have online discussions, and access resources. I decided to complete all my courses online and it was great so I didn't have to go into MacEwan except to write exams or do a presentation. The exams were after work hours so it was convenient for me working and taking courses. The buildings were easy to find classrooms and I only ever bought food from the Tim Hortons and it could be a long line. Most of the instructors were fairly good to reply back promptly when I had questions or concerns. There was one instructor that wasn't very good and when I shared my concerns with the Department, they were very open to hearing my feedback. The only issue I had was with the admissions department who act like they don't care about providing decent service and walk around with the ho hum attitude.
