Wanted to update this review to share that we went to Key City Dental. They're great with kids! They were very patient with my daughter. They fixed several cavities and pulled two teeth before I even realized it. So thankful for their help. The orthodontist did agree that the the crown was way too large for her mouth. So we'll have to deal with that. Not sure if it needs to be removed or replaced. read more

They do a phenomenal job with my kids! My daughter even enjoyed the X-rays and getting to watch her favorite show while her teeth got cleaned. We went on a slower day it seemed, but the care given was exceptional! The staff is friendly. read more

Good dental work, terrible front desk staff/experience. My 17 year old son is old enough to get a license from the state and operate a vehicle costing thousands of dollars on public roadways but according to Abilene Pediatric Dental he's incapable of checking himself in for his dental cleaning. WTF. Why? I asked why and they could only parrot bwak, "It's our policy". They couldn't even provide a reasonable valid justification for their policy. Just "It's policy" to inconvenience the hell out of busy parents. Guess what, today they lost not 1 customer, but 3 since I will find a new dentist for all 3 of our kids. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 10:20am, I arrived at 9:50am due to them saying we must arrive 20 minutes early. I get there and check in, the receptionist is friendly. It was packed with patients waiting to get called back. I waited for over an hour to be seen. Everyone that was there around the time I got there was called back, however several families came in afterward and way afterward and all of them got called before I did. I went up to receptionist and asked if she got me checked in correctly because I had been waiting over an hour already. She rudely told me "you're checked in we are just backed up." Which I could definitely tell they were falling behind due to several families being in there and waiting. What made me upset was me waiting and getting to my appointment on time, and still waiting over an hour for not even a 2 minute cleaning for my 1 year old. At that, everyone who got their way after me being called almost as soon as checking in. I don't recommend this dentist and will definitely be looking into another one. I had high hopes for this dentist I am not from abilene and chose to travel thinking I'd have a great experience but both times I have gone I have been having to wait a ridiculous amount of time. read more

We love Dr. Seth and his team, they have taken care of our children's dental needs the last five years. We've not once had anything but a pleasant experience. They work hard to take the anxiety out of it for the kids. That means the world to me, as someone who dreads going to the dentist personally it makes me very happy that my kids don't have the same dread. Over a year ago, my child had over $3500 (out of pocket insurance paid another part) of dental work done. We only had this option because every other dentist referred us here. This dentist absolutely has ruined my daughters teeth. Many of them were filed and were completely straight instead of the way they are supposed to be, the fillings are continuously coming out or off and now we have another broken tooth. Her two front teeth that are permanent are now filed in a way that they are too narrow. She had straight pretty teeth and after all of this, I anticipate she will need braces and more work done to repair all of the damage. She was in so much pain immediately following the surgery they had to give her morphine twice to get her relaxed. I know many people like and use this dentist, but we got a bad deal and weren't very happy and haven't been since. I am very angry about the mess they made of my child's teeth. They were bad enough due to cavities (everyone in my family has bad teeth). But they didn't look as bad as they did after this fiasco. I've been angry about it since the surgery and feel there is nothing I can do but I am considering a malpractice suit now that another one of the teeth is broken. read more

Do not go here if you are having a dental procedure for your child! I received a bill from them after I verified TWICE with them the cost of one of the procedures for $177 extra. I called and spoke to the office manager to told me they do not even have to check benefits that it is just a courtesy if they do and that the second person I called to verify the cost was not even a "qualified person to tell me benefits". That isn't my fault! Stay away if you do not want a shocking bill after. read more

Dentist and hygienist- great Billing- terrible, began getting phone calls r/t an outstanding balance. Initially Tammy offered no explanation as to what the balance was r/t instead pretty much began demanding that I pay it. When I asked what it was reguarding she first told me it was due to insurance not paying for my 1st and 3rd childs annual appoint. Then revoked explanation stating it was for my 2nd childs tooth extraction, that the nitrous gas was not covered by insurance. I argued that I had known upfront this would not be paid for and that it was paid out of pocket prior to procedure. She then said that the balance was reguarding the gas that was used when my 2nd child had her spacer placed. I again argued that we never made it to that appoint. So then again she revoked that explanation stating that they used the gas when taking a molding for the spacer to be placed. However neither my daughter nor my husband who was with her remember her getting the gas. So I have refused to pay. Yesterday I got another call from Tammy who honestly calls me like shes a bounty hunter. Stating that I needed to take care of my balance and that it had been explained to me... I called the office manager, Kevin, who is much nicer... But still maintains that the dentist reports using the gas for the molding and the explanation for this is that children get "clastrophobic" Apparently my consent to use the gas for the tooth extraction means that they can also use the gas to place a simple molding in my childs mouth. I will not return. Be aware if you have private insurance. read more

I could go on and on about APD. They have been nothing short of fabulous. APD gave me no problems and got my son in first thing in the morning after he had an accident causing mouth trauma (even though we weren't patients, yet!). The staff and Dr. Seth were all amazingly friendly and professional. I've never seen my 3 y/o son feel so comfortable and have so much fun in a Dr's office! After my son's "surgery" Dr. Seth even held my son until I pulled the car around and he even put him in the car seat! I felt like my son was REALLY cared about there :) Thank you so much!!! read more

The best dental place for kids I've ever been to, they are friendly, it's clean, and it's kids friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

Daughter has special needs due to heart condition and although the initial visit was great and we like Dr. Seth after 5 months of waiting and nagging the office dropped the ball majorly on scheduling her procedure and the hospital cancelled 5 days before we were set to have her caps on. APD changed our chosen plan and hospital selection halfway through, with no call to ok it with us, then booked a surgery center not equipped to handle my daughter. Needless to say now 5 months later we are faced with starting over and are going somewhere else. My child's safety comes first and this office did not handle it properly at all-now I hope she doesn't need more work due to their mess up. read more

Dr. Coley is great with my two children. Office is very clean and the techs are very friendly and helpful. It does take awhile to have them look over referrals and get back to you. If you are looking for a great pediatric dentist I would recommend Dr. Coley. read more

Just moved to town & brought my 3 kids here to have cleanings. The kids loved everything about the place. Everybody was super nice too. Was a little surprised that I had to pay my deductible and for kids xrays. I guess because I was used to being asked at our old dentist if we wanted out of pocket stuff done (it's only covered 1x/yr). Was told my 8yr old son needed his cracked tooth extracted & had the breakdown of out of pocket cost broke down. Signed the sheet saying I understood my cost & made the appt. Aft the extraction we were given an ortho to call. Was unclear if the appt was for a second opinion on spacer or to do it. Back and forth phone calls. Turns out the spacer that I was quoted as $0 on my end couldn't be done by the office. I needed to have the one my son needed done at the ortho.. for $1,000! Seems my insurance covers dental spacers but not ortho ones. I was very upset by hearing this after the tooth was pulled. This all happened during bad weather and I was told after calling and being promised I would get a call back (aft I told the receptionist really?? because you guys have promised me this 3-4 times now), that yes, she promised she would call back the next day. As she told me excuses (idk they could be true).. about the weather and ice and so the Dr hasn't been to the office and then he was sick and in the hospital... ??? Needless to say, it's been 3 wks and surprise! no call back. I was just upset after paying $100 for deductible/xrays during cleanings I assumed (my fault) would be free, then paying $200 for tooth pulling (plus cavity filling), and then thinking that was doable since the spacer was free and we would be done with it all... that now I'm being told my only option is to pay $1k. So, since they didn't care to call back, esp aft they knew how upset over the whole situation I was, that we will just let the tooth eventually grow in how it will.. he will need braces one day anyway. I'm left filling a little bitter about it all.. esp being new patients. I'm not sure if we will go back or not. My kids reallllllly like the whole play area/kid friendly stuff. :/ ... but I'm really not feeling going back! read more

Find Another Dentist! I thought I was doing my child a favor by finding a pediatric dentist, but I really believe that this office is more interested in making money than in helping patients. My five year old had a few cavities and an abscessed tooth. The "board certified" dentist said that due to my son's high anxiety level that he would need to have general anesthesia to have his dental work done. Really? This dentist has spent about 10 minutes between two visits with my son but we have spent 45 minutes waiting on him for each visit. So...his "anxiety" was due to laying in a chair waiting on the dentist. Well.. today my son had four fillings completed by another local dentist who was fantastic! Normal numbing of gums and he did great! No anxiety..no problems. Right now my son is happily playing instead of feeling sick from the side effects of general anesthesia that he did not need. Seems to be the norm to sedate children at this office. What about trying the old fashioned methods first? read more
