My husband called these guys immediately when my area rug cleaning search showed up with 2 guys wanting to clean my 8x10 area rug on my new floors? WHAT THE .......??? I explained to Above All my area rug was slightly under my sectional and with my knee injury I couldn't help remove it. Ricky came in and got it on my driveway within 5 minutes of showing up. Ricky asked if I had more rugs to clean for their quote but I did not. Nice to know though. Risky was back around 5pm and put the dry rug back. We have used above all carpet cleaning for many many years and they always make the place look like new, Rick is very personable and easy to be around, he is conscientious. His parents have also cleaned our house on a few occasions and they are exceptional couple, very diligent outgoing warm people who pursue excellence and go the extra mile to do the extra cleaning when needed. We had several construction projects which trampled in a lot of dirt nearly ruining the rugs, Rick goes to town on the project and gets the carpet looking good again. Over the years I have used what I thought were top carpet cleaners here in Yuba City. I know that one is gone out of business because the owner retired and the other is owned by his son. I was speaking with a friend of mine and she recommended Above All carpet cleaning. So I thought I would give them a try. I was told that Ricky would arrive at 1:00 pm and he was very prompt. This is a family business locally owned. Ricky did my carpets very timely, and removed stains from when I was training my York Shire Terrier nine years ago. Those stains had been cleaned over and over again and still remained. When Ricky was done, those stains were gone. Needless to say, I was incredibly surprised, and I recommend definitely five stars for Above All carpet cleaning. I also have a 3400 square-foot house, which is 50% carpeted including stairs, I found Above All to be very fair priced. In fact I was surprised, at the low cost, for the quality of care. My realtor hired this company to clean the carpets in my new house. I didn't have time to meet them there because I was stuck at work. I sent a friend over to open the door for them so they can start cleaning the carpet. I spoke with the lady at the office and confirmed the plan with her. I also explained to the lady that I would meet them at my house after the job was done so I could pay them. She said that would be ok. The first quote she gave me for the carpets was $139.00. When I explained to her that the rooms were a little over-sized, she continued to tell me that the price will be more like $150.00 which I agreed with. Then she called me again and said the price will be going up to $210.00 because it was some deal she made with my realtor. Everything was set to go and the gentleman showed up to my house to clean the carpets. He walked in and walked right back out saying he would have to charge more because of the over sized rooms. I called Above All Carpet Cleaning and after talking to the lady, she told the gentleman its to go ahead and start working and that everything was fine.Everything was fine until the "owner" show up and started demanding a check. The lady called me again and she began asking for a check, even though we had already made an agreement. She continued asking for a check while I was on the phone with her. The "owner", the short little fat bald headed grumpy guy began yelling behind her. " Tell her to bring a check or we will pick up a check our self". I told the lady to tell the guy that was yelling that I will bring a check personally as soon I make sure they clean it and I will be happy to pay them. He was really upset and told me if I don't pay them before they start cleaning they will leave. The "owner" (Rick) made me really upset and I told them to leave the house that I didn't need their services. They said they will leave, but when I got there they were still at my house. I talked to the "owner" he said that other people have not pay him blah, blah. I explain to him that he can't treat customers the same because all customers are different and I had already made arrangements with the lady of the office. He made the deal with my realtor so I don't know why they didn't harass him. I told him if they were not happy they can leave MY HOUSE and still they didn't leave. So all of this happened because I wanted to pay them after the work was done, and they said no. Yet, they agreed to do that with the realtor. Why is this? And on top of that, the job they did on my carpet was a joke. It smelled worse than before they "cleaned it" and none of the black spots were removed. I could have just rented a Rug Doctor and done a better job myself. It's the worse customer service I have ever experience. Common sense, why would you pay anyone before the job is done? you NEVER pay before job is done. its ridiculous!!! My rating would be NEGATIVE STARS! read more
