We visited here after Labor Day. Pretty quiet weekday with a few visitors. Parking is by meter so bring coins. Our son enjoyed all floors especially Rachel's favorite exhibit. We also enjoyed fishing, campfire, and school house. There is even nursing area in 2nd floor which was perfect for my wife. Overall, a great place to visit with your toddlers and has elevator if you have stroller. They accept ACM reciprocal membership for 50% off. Also free coffee is available too.

Doesn't look like a museum but don't be fooled by the exterior. This place will keep your toddler entertained! We bought tickets in advance online and check in was a breeze. The first floor was a bit of a waste for our 2 year old but would definitely keep an older child entertained with the golf ball tracks and play stations. Second floor is also good for older kids because you have a tunnel of nets that span the floor and lead to a slide that goes down to the first floor. Third floor has a honey bee display, a make believe spot for a theatre and circus, colorful playmats and a life size lite-bright room! There is also a family restroom and lactation space in the farm area that is designated for younger kids (toddlers and younger). It was very accommodating to parents, especially those who have kids that are still breastfeeding. Fourth floor had a ship area that has fishing poles and pulleys as well as a row boat, market (make believe out door market with plenty of plastic fruits, meats, breads, veggies), an old time classroom and a fire engine. Honestly there is something for every type of child. Even some books on the third floor for your bookworms. Right now during covid there are sign up times for 2 hour slots and a mandatory closure from 12-1 for sanitizing. We found the place clean and not crowded at all on a rainy Sunday afternoon. It's friendly for disabled with an elevator to get from floor to floor. Otherwise there are stairs which are fun for the kids (under supervision). Parking was a breeze. We noticed there was a party room so you could most likely host a birthday party here. Great spot for an afternoon with kids. Makes it easy to have a family vacation here where the kids are entertained and adults can golf at Kohler.

Great children's museum, my little girl had a blast exploring each floor and each exhibit, and it was pretty inexpensive for a children's museum. First floor and mezzanine: had a lot of mechanical exhibits. My LO really liked the rude Goldberg machine, played that over and over again, and also the wind tunnel machine, and the life size pin board was really neat to play with. There was also a climbing structure, rope tunnel and spiral staircase that she had fun monkeying around on. I had fun playing the harp piano and whompamaphone - lots of fun and pretty loud! Second floor had a bee exhibit - really cool to watch all those bees - probably the most memorable exhibit for my LO. She loves bees and had a lot of fun watching the bees at work. Second floor also had a toddler play area, which my sister's baby got lots of play out of, and a circus exhibit, but part of it was under construction. Oh, and the shadow box and glow room were pretty cool - life sized lite brite! 3rd floor had a fire truck/house exhibit, little school house, and a boat/fishing exhibit - lots of fun playing around on those structures, catching fish, trying on fireman turnout gear. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something to do with the little ones. Only thing, bring quarters for parking - looks like the only parking is on the street with meters. Max is 2 hrs (I think), but after about an hour, just put more coins in if you need more time. They also have a little bistro area for parents with tables and a little coffee bar setup.

Really great little kids museum we found while visiting the American Club. Love the upstairs with the built-in ship and market.

Fantastic well done facility - exceeded our expectations by far. The boat and fire truck on the fourth floor are impressive!

That is what makes the experience feel so genuine and human. I very much enjoyed all of the installations in this small but distinguished museum. It is thoughtfully curated, inspiring, and quietly powerful in its message. I would absolutely enjoy coming back to see future installations. For a free arts center I spent about an hour exploring. Add this to your list of Sheboygan visits.

My daughter has a family membership to DW, so I'm a frequent guest. Today's visit was extra special…read morebecause Summerfest is underway and a cruise ship (failed to take a photo ) was docked right next to DW. We always take a trip up to the Pilot House and then outside onto the high deck for terrific views of the lake, SF grounds, and everything else in the harbor (including a Milwaukee Fire Dept. fireboat). Staff are always welcoming and so very attentive to the children. We always make a stop at the food kiosk to get a snack (a selection of the usual packaged snack foods along with hot dogs and pizza). My biggest complaint is how slow and long the check-in process is. There's usually only one person at the check-in desk, and many days there need to be two. There's a line for members, but unless there are two staff members at the desk, what difference does it make? We waited with everyone else today, which makes having a membership feel like less of a great thing. But there still needs to be a quicker process. Today while I was at the front desk I watched a woman purchase tickets online, and even that was such a long and involved process I think i would've quit and gone home.

We came here on a Saturday and it was moderately busy yet we were able to see everything in a few hours. There are plenty of hands-on activities throughout for all ages and exhibits highlighting local individuals and companies as well. It's hard to say what my favorite area was because I enjoyed everything, but the aquariums, weather/ storm area and the corporate exploration station stick out in my mind as where I had the most fun personally. We didn't shop around the food or gift shop area but that could be an area we explore more next time. Discovery World is well worth the price of admission and the entire family is guaranteed to have fun while learning something new!

But as you explore through it, you'll see that it has way more magic hiding in every corner than you first thought. Sandcastles Children's Museum is three stories of fun. We took our 7 and 11 year old boys, and the 11 year old had just as much fun as his younger brother. That said, I would say that this museum is best suited for kids who are preschoolers through around 10 years old. One of the best parts of this museum is that it subtly references popular Ludington icons and landmarks. You'll see a play SS Badger ship, popular local restaurants on the second floor, and lots of other things that pay homage to the beach town in which the museum resides. One of our favorite spots in the museum is located on the third floor. It's there that you'll find a mini stage with several real, full-sized instruments that kids are invited to play. There are steel drums, ukuleles, guitars, pianos and lots of other instruments to try out. There's also a TV where you can watch yourself jamming on the instruments. All throughout the museum, you'll find things to play with, like a sand pit with digger toys, a play farm, play grocery store and restaurant, a veterinary office, a post office, craft station, rock climbing wall, science station, theatre stage with costumes, and lots more. There is just so much fun stuff for kids, and my children were occupied for hours.

My 4 year old loved the maternity ward and the 1.5 year old loved the grocery store. Loved our time at the museum. We also loved the mask requirement for all. So crazy that it hasn't changed a bit since I would go here on school trips years and years ago. The exhibits continue to offer so much! Favorite has to be the Streets of Old Milwaukee which is just so immersive. We also love the butterfly room (so many live butterflies!) and the planetarium dome theater, which shows various educational films. They ask that you don't have food and drinks while touring around (understandable), but they have a huge cafe/dining area on the ground level.
