Alright. This place is incredibly mediocre. A "Large Burrito" was $18.75, and an extra $1.75 for rice. It was really really not good. And also not large. This is probably the worst mexican food I have had to date. Their salsa and chips is pretty good though. If you genuinely like mexican food and have had good mexican before, I would avoid this place at all costs. The interior design js a little tacky but whatever that doesn't really matter. An awesome spot in Lewisburg. Was finally able to visit this location, I previously went to the former location in Williamsport that unfortunately has been gone for years. Plenty of street parking. The space is nice. Staff is very friendly and efficient, recognized many faces from years ago at the other location (a good sign!). It is a BYOB so plan accordingly. The only thing I had tonight that I wasn't crazy about was the chile con queso which tasted kind of like Velveeta. As a party of 7, we had the Nachos Grande for 4 which was more than enough, they were great. I believe the first chimichanga I ever had was from Abrana Marie's and I've never really found one that is better than theirs. After all these years and another location, it still tasted the same -- fantastic. Prices are very reasonable. Would absolutely recommend a visit. read more

Great food, great service. Was a bit surprised how tasty the food was, definitely hard to find semi-authentic Mexican fare around these parts. The menu, although seemingly simple, invite you to chose from a bounty of choices. From mild to hot, from cheese to chips, your choices are endless. The service was wonderful, something we were a bit worried about since it was very crowded on a Saturday night. Definitely would recommend making a reservation--even that was a breeze! I've been going to Abrana Marie's since it opened in Northumberland, and it's one of my favorite restaurants. The food is prepared fresh, and is absolutely delicious! After reading negative reviews regarding "not authentic Mexican"...you are correct. This is NEW Mexican cuisine, and there is a big difference. I'm not sure these folks have ever had authentic Mexican food. The nachos grande was good. The appetizer I had wasn't bad - a shrimp quesadilla. However, it not only was not a quesadilla, it was Thai (shrimp and pineapple salsa on an unfolded tortilla heated to brittle crunchy crispness - served with Thai sweet chili sauce). My chili relleno enchilada wasn't a bad idea, but it didn't translate from a crispy burst of pepper and cheese flavor to the practically flavorless red sauce drenched plate I was served. Even the refried beans were (whipped?) to a level just short of watery thinness. I also ordered one beef taco ($2.50), and was charged 25¢ separately for the soft shell tortilla. I admit that I did enjoy the taco, but for nearly $3, it was an aggregate disappointment. Not to mention that the refried beans and rice (a staple of any Mexican plate of food) are ala carte sides. This place has a serious identity crisis. I was shocked at how disappointed I was after so many friends told me I'd enjoy it. I lived in CA for 20 years, and I know what good Mexican food is - and this isn't it. My server was wonderful (5 stars for her!), I feel obligated to say. The service was wonderful, and the raspberry tea I had was amazing! I will go back and give it a second chance at some point. But, for a first visit, 2 stars was generous. read more

My husband and I have been here at least 20 times in the last 8 months or so and like to take visiting family and friends here, too. It gets kind of loud in there, but the service is always great and the food is always excellent and fresh, and I think it's a relatively inexpensive place to get a great meal. Don't forget to BYOB (and a wine key, if it's wine; their wine key isn't the easiest to use). The medium red pod chili sauce is my favorite and their chimichangas are probably the best I've had. My favorite meals are the chimi's with chicken, the stuffed peppers with chicken and beans, and the burritos. My husband really likes their fish tacos and tostadas and generally also enjoys trying the specials. We often get the stuffed peppers special as take out and share it. So good. Anyway. This place is great, all around. The biggest downsides are that it's kind of loud when it's busy and their wine key sucks. That's not so bad. We finally took the time to plan ahead and make reservations, after being turned away on previous visits. After all the hype, and the wait, we were disappointed. It wasn't that the food was horrible, it was ok. The menu is limited, but also a bit complicated. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to order, and then to realize that everything is an extra charge. It's an a la carte style menu - the only meal choices were the specials. The refried beans (an extra charge) appear to come straight from a can, and the salsa was definitely made with canned tomatoes, with the canned tomato taste completely overwhelming the salsa. I had a roast beef chimichanga, and my wife had a chicken enchilada. Items are a la carte, but reasonably priced. Their food is quite tasty. Looking at some of the posts from people claiming the food to be bland, also posted how wonderful the local Chinese food restaurant is. Which happens to serve an MSG filled menu selection that will leave you with nothing but a layer of grease on one's tongue and a side of diarrhea, I've eaten there ONCE and it cured me for life. So, this leads me to believe that said Yelper can not be trusted. On to Abrana's, much love for this place and the flavors. Yes, each dish is different and you may select one that doesn't strike your fancy, so, go back and try another! I happen to LOVE their beef enchiladas but not their chicken enchilada -- case in point. My children love their shrimp tacos, I could live every day of my life without them and not be sad. See? Everything is relative. To be truthful, they could use a different grain for their rice and their bean recipe is something that needs to be addressed. It needs some TLC. Finally Abrana Marie's have opened a restaurant in Lewisburg. I went there for the first time this past weekend and the food was great. I have eaten at their previous restaurants in Williamsport and Northumberland over the years and always enjoyed their great Mexican food. They know how to do it right. While are only taking reservations for now while they train their new stall they hope to be able to take walk ins soon. It is a BYOB restaurant which is fine by me since I can bring whatever drink I want. I will definitely become a regular. read more

I've been here a few times and have never had a complaint about the food. Each time has been an enjoyable experience, until the other day. The food was fine, but the waiter was... off. He kept asking us strange/borderline inappropriate questions. Not sure if he is new, but come on man, you need to catch on to the clues that you're making us uncomfortable. I think if I come back (it was seriously that bad), that I'll only get takeout, or even ask the hostess (who is always nice) if she can make sure I don't get him. I agree with the poor reviews. I ordered the nachos and got a really poor imitation of nachos. They come with Italian black olives on top? Like others before me I can agree that this screams identity crisis. I understand that this place claims to serve "New Mexican" cuisine but no, not even there will you find black olives on nachos. The cheese was orange shredded Kraft like cheese from a bag that tasted like cardboard and the salsa was not even home made. If they make it there its with canned ingredients full of preservatives. I could make better nachos myself at home for a fraction of the price and quicker. I would never go back to this place. First time ever having this place and I ordered beef and chicken tacos and the meat just tasted plain. My chicken taco was just plain shredded chicken with cheese on top. No seasoning at all. It wasn't good. Tacobell tacos taste better and have way more flavor. I also got the queso and it was too thick and clumpy. I couldn't even coat my chips in it. Many sauces to choose from, but not being a picky eater, I was expecting to like them all..but ended up only liking two. I guess I just prefer my sauces & food to be a little more seasoned. The food was average, however it's not until you pay the bill that the real disappoint begins. Most Mexican restaurants offer free chips and salsa, not here, it'll cost you over $5. Want rice and beans with your meal? (typically included at other restaurants) cough up another $3.50, How about a teaspoon of sour cream? that's another $1. Never once did the waitress indicate that these items would be extra. I'm surprised I didn't get changed for the ice in my drink! The chili relleno enchilada was awesome. Two for one! This is with the green chili meat sauce. Most delicious! My husband is a native New Mexican so we know authentic when we see it. Just enough heat without being painful, flavorful inside and out. Husband had the enchilada special, spinach, mushroom, cheese with mushroom sauce! Most delicious and different. A sign of a good NM restaurant is everything has its own flavor. We were also pleased with the price as we never eT the rice and beans typically served automatically. Hate pay for what we done eat. The guacamole was great with freshly, light chips. We dropped in at 5 pm and they were booked full at 6:30 but the squeezed is in and we are so glad they did! Their chips are fantastic. And the best guac you can buy around here (they have a delicious avocado supplier). And they have one of the best waitresses in the country with Patty. Authentic New Mexican food in PA! Their salsa is amazing, as is their red and green chillie sauces! Everything I've had on the menu is excellent! BYOB! Please do not be confused: this is not Mexican food, it's New Mexican! There is a difference and a large part of that has to do with the chillie peppers that are only grown in the state of New Mexico. This will be a great Mexican restaurant when she opens for regular business but understand that she is currently operating only by reservation. I'm not in the restaurant business nor do I even personally know these people, but their reputation is sterling so I fully expect this place to be a hit in Lewisburg for a long time.
