I grew up in LFT, but I've lived in Big D for 20 years now and you would be shocked to know that I have not been able to find "Seven Steak" anywhere in Dallas. They just don't sell it here. So, I was on a mission to find some on this trip and bring it back to Dallas. I grew up eating Seven Steak and also going to the original Veron's and having the butcher's give me a Lil' Smokie while my mom bought our meat. I found beautiful pieces of Seven Steak here at 8AM on a Sat morning before leaving town and I was so excited. I told the butcher that I could not find this cut of meat anywhere in Dallas, and he chuckled and said, "Mais, that's because they don't know what a good gravy tastes like." haha!! So, we made a "good gravy" tonight and all is well in the world! I almost asked him for a Lil' Smokie for old times sake, but refrained! ha!

OMG, they were so peppered no one could eat them!! I don't know if there is an incompetent or disgruntled employee in the meat market--either way, the hamburgers sucked. I called the store and spoke to someone in the meat market. They offered to replace them, but that would mean driving over there, picking them up, returning home, and cooking the next batch. They said it must have been a bad batch. I don't buy that. The meatloaf this past week was just as peppered. Management ought to be concerned if an employee is working to lose a lot of loyal customers if they don't get a quality control program in place. This customer is going to Champagne's for the next burgers.
