AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! Yes, I got a DUI and yes because I got a DUI I had to get an Ignition Interlock Device. I'll clear that up first. I am aware of my mistake. I am being penalized for it, as I should. The owner of Absolute Auto damaged my vehicle (the airbag module) with installation of the device (i.e. made a mistake) and instead of taking ownership he has lied and displayed anger. He chooses to belittle customers about their DUI yet profits from those same people. He was given multiple opportunities to correct the problem however chose to deny and be rude, even rude to the certified LifeSafer installer who FIXED my vehicle. He even suggested I was "trying to get something for nothing" as if I came in with a malfunctioning Airbag System and thought hey let me blame this guy and get him to fix it. Yeh, you got me Bob!!! I got a DUI and had to have an Ignition Interlock Device so I thought hey perfect opportunity, why not blame this guy and try to get it fixed. I guess that is plausible if the Airbag System had in fact been malfunctioning before I brought the vehicle to you. I could detail more of the multiple lies from this shop (the owner, Bob), but I will just leave it with AVOID Absolute Auto, not like there aren't plenty of other Auto shops in Pinellas County. Took months to get the job done put a new radiator in my car with a fan connected to it when they installed a hole brand new radiator. I called leaking Bob. The owner told me he don't need this shit it wouldn't except responsibility. I know things happen and I understand that but when you don't admit, you made a mistake that tells me something about you and your business. I'm not going back and I don't recommend either. Name should be Absolute terrible people. I went in to have a service done. They were an hour and a half late getting my appointment, which I let go. The gentleman owner was servicing my vehicle, and through the paper thin walls of the waiting room I heard him cursing, multiple F bombs, slamming my vehicle parts, and completely went off the deep end. I work 2 jobs and have my work gear in my vehicle. I put everything in the back to make sure it was out of his way, and he was yelling because my car wasn't "clean." If it was that bad he could have asked me to put some work things away. Mind you the waiting room lobby is so cluttered with junk and tires that you could barely walk through it, yet calls my vehicle dirty/trash filled. The owner gentleman must think his customers are deaf. Subsequently he caused damages to my vehicle out of anger where I'm now in a claim process to get reimbursed. This man needs serious anger management classes. I would never recommend this business to anyone. Rude, unprofessional, angry people who damage your vehicle and don't care how it affects you. read more

We made an appt to get an interlock on our car. We drop it off at 9am and he said he would call us 20 min before it was done to come back and do paperwork. We thought okay great we had an appt for my 18 month old we should be back by noon the latest. They called me at 10:30 to tell me the car was done but my sons appt was at 10am. I tell his wife I'm at said appt with my son and as soon as I'm done I will head straight there. They proceeded to call me 4x in one hour. I was speeding to get my car because the owner was upset telling me I was holding up his shop etc on my way I get pulled over an get a $281 ticket and I call him to tell him I just got pulled over rushing to his shop that I would be a few more minute he then told me " that it wasn't his problem I should have been their an hour ago" then hung up on me. We get to the shop he argued with my boyfriend and tell him to get out the shop that he doesn't care. So to avoid a scene I went in with our baby and I saw his wife and I proceeded to tel her " I understand you have a business to run we were doing the best we can" he interrupted me and told me to be quit and get out the shop because he was the owner. I told him I was talking to his wife and he told me he didn't care that he could hear me. I told him this isn't free we are paying for the service not for you to be an asshole. He then threaten to stop working on the car that we would still have to pay him and be stuck all day. So I walk outside and I'm upset talking to my boyfriend he came out from the garage and told me if I was going to be quiet he would undo what he did and we would have to pay him anyways. Mind you he had his pick up truck parked behind my car in the garage so I could'nt get it to my car regardless!!! He said he wasn't making money off the interlock yet we paid $95 + $212 and now a $281 ticket! This man is disgusting and disrespectful and should not have a business!!! read more

It is hard to find good/honest mechanics and Bob is one of them. He is patient and will take the time to give you proper advice. He will walk you through the process of the work that needs to be done on the vehicle and explain why he is recommending the parts, repairs that need to be made, etc. If you see negative reviews here and some in google its mostly due to people who need the ignition interlock system set up in their vehicle. Usually, its people who don't know how to follow the rules/regulations that complain and take it out on yelp/google reviews. When it comes to this Bob is just the messenger since that device is heavily regulated by the interlock company and the DMV. Again, Bob does walk you through the process and explains step by step the do's and don'ts when installing that device. He is also available to speak with you via phone if you ever have a question although *you should call the Interlock company for any questions you might have* - since its their device and not Bobs. I am a fan of Bob, and thanks again for the work you did on my car. read more

I have not written on Yelp in around 3-5 years but this one has brought me out of retirement. Do not take your car here. Dangerous mechanic that has no clue. 1. Took a used car here to get a thorough pre-purchase inspection. I thought it was a bit odd that it only took 40 minutes to come back with a thumbs up & only two minor issues which I had scheduled for repair after purchase. On the assumption that this guy knew what he was doing, I purchased the car. 2. Beyond him missing simple things like non-working headlight, bad odometer, he missed a SEVERE SAFTEY ISSUE. After doing the minor repair that was scheduled, he suggested I take the care to his guys down the road to get new tires. His 'guys' took one bolt off of the wheel he just looked at and told me the threads were stripped. Meaning, the tire could come off at any moment. This was due to prior front end damage that he missed. 3. Immediately (within 30 minutes) took the car back to this guy & he says that either it was the other guys fault or I did something to the car in the 30 minutes I was gone. None of which was true. He was the last person to touch the wheel & stripped the threads by not hand turning the bolt a few times before putting lugs on. He proceeded to throw things around the shop swearing & yelling. I took iPhone video of him. 4. The next day, I get a call to say my car is ready. He had replaced the bolts but I had to pay for parts. Not the greatest thing to do but I wanted this nightmare over. 5. Within 48 hours of getting my car back, I am driving down the road while I hear a couple of pops on that wheel. MY WHEEL CAME OFF MY VEHICLE! This joker did not even do the job right & my wheel came off. Luckily, I was in a residential 30 MPH area & no one was hurt. I called him back & he again accuses me of doing something to the car. 6. I took the car to another mechanic. They immediately noticed the car had frame damage and I paid 1k to get this car fixed. Bottom Line: This guy has no clue. I'm sure he can do $20 oil changes til the cows come home but do not trust what he says. His laziness cost me thousands of dollars and could have gotten me killed. read more

I recently had to get an Interlock system in my car installed. I found this shop very close to my home so decided to go with them. I just recently bought a newer BMW so was very nervous. I am not versed on how interlocks are installed. I was worried about wires being cut and hanging from many different places. In addition I was worried about my car functioning during and after install. After my visit to Absolute Auto my worries and concerns were taken away completely. The gentleman and his wife was very nice and assuring. The customer service was AMAZING!!! I could tell this was a family owned business that works very hard to earn a honest living. Their dogs were awesome as well (I could tell they love being in the shop with their parents). Anyway the install was very quick and no wires hanging out. Looks super professional. If you are looking for a place to get an interlock installed this is the place to go!! Everything about this experience was Amazing!!! Great job Absolute Auto!!! read more

Have used Absolute Auto Care for over 1.5 years with my small Class B RV and received nothing but the best of maintenance, customer care and service. I drive over 15,000 a year back and forth from Florida to Ohio without mechanical incidence in a 10 year old RV mainly due to Bobs excellent care. People you must maintain your vehicles, you cannot expect optimum performance if you do not pay the bucks to get it serviced properly.
